Hi All, Anthony Vapes back here with my review of the Vapefly Wormhole RDA, please see the bottom for disclaimers and links

Introduction:
The Wormhole RDA is the latest RDA from underrated vape manufacturer Vapefly. It’s named the wormhole in honor of stephen hawking which to me makes no sense. He didn’t vape as far as i’m aware of and i doubt his fans care about vaping. But that’s all i’ll comment on that in my review today. It’s a dual coil RDA with a clamp deck and tons of airflow options and can be used as a single coil RDA as well. It’s available in 3 colors SS, Black, and Gold. It’s available online in the 25-40 dollar price range.

Initial Impressions and features
When I first got this RDA I found it pretty interesting. There are a ton of airflow options, probably more than i seen on any DTL RDA out there. It’s best suited for dual coils but can be used as single coil as well as the air options are there for it. I really liked the look of the PMMA top cap and matching 810 tip. On the SS one i have it’s clear while the black has a matching black one and the gold has an ultem colored one. Gives it a very unique look and makes it great for dissipating heat so no hot lips. It also doubles as an air adjust. The build deck looks fancy but is really just a clamp deck with a built in adjustable airflow on it. Wasn’t really sure what to think from the start other than it looks cool and unique.

Build Deck and Wicking (pics above)
Let’s talk about the build deck now. It’s made primarily for dual coils, however you can install a single coil if you wanted to as the air options are there to support it. I’ll go over the air options later though. The deck itself uses a dual clamp system. It’s straight across and not staggered. I’m not sure why, staggered would have been nice. You need to install both coils at the same time as well and with thick wires it can be hard to get to the leads to clip them. Not an issue with regulate round wires and such. The post screws are good quality flat head grub screws and the clamps are screwed into them. It’s 1 screw per clamp. If you unscrew the post screws too much the clamps will fall out so be careful. They don’t include spare clamps either. You just throw them both in there and tighten once screw at a time. It’s not an easy deck to build on. You can fit max 3mm ID, i wouldn’t go bigger but with a low number of wraps you could. Not an easy deck to build on and it’s a little tight in there. I’d say it’s fine for advanced builders. Intermediate builders may get frustrated and beginners shouldn't bother with it

Wicking is pretty easy as well, just drop it down the sides into the deep juice well. It’s an RDA so no tips or tricks needed. You’ll either drip or squonk on it.

Performance
Performance wise, I used it as a Dual coil RDA only. I ran 5 builds in this uses tone of air options on each. The 2 above, 2 other fancy coil builds, and one more simple round wire (22 Gauge 3mm ID 8 wraps). All Builds 2.5mm-3.5mm ID. I recommend doing 2.5-3mm i felt 3mm was the sweet spot for this RDA. it’s an interesting RDA. it performs well with the right air combinations. The 2 i found to be the best is either a medium build (the smaller one pictured above) with the middle airflow closed using side airflow only or with a huge build (larger one pictured above) with the middle air wide open and the restrictor removed and side air. Overall flavor can be really good when built correctly and just decent when not. It’s not made for a large ID coil but is made for a lot of wraps. It’s really best used with large coils and high watts and air fully open but good for medium watts as well with smaller builds and the side air only.

Overall Impressions, Details, and Extras
Let’s talk about the airflow now. It’s essentially a double side airflow RDA when fully open. One side is outside and the other comes from inside the RDA in the middle of the coils. I’ll refer to that one as middle airflow the rest of the way to not get confusing. The best way to close off the middle airflow is with the top cap. There is 1 hole on 1 side that opens it up. If you put the top cap on with the hole open it allows the air in, if you put it on the other way with the hole blocked off it’s closed. On the inside of the RDA there is a screw to adjust that airflow the screw needs to remain in but loosen it up for more air and tighten it down for less air.It has a plate to restrict that air a little as well and the plate is removable. There is also a plate for single coil mode that cuts off one side. You can change or remove the plates by taking out the screw and taking the plate off then reinstalling the screw. For the side airflow it’s easy to adjust there are 5 holes but you can only use 3 of them. The PMMA top cap acts as the AFC for that and it’s smooth and easy to adjust. If you use smaller coils go with the side only but if you use large coils go with both air and remove the middle airflow plate. It comes with a standard 810 friction fit PMMA drip tip. Each color has its own color tip to match the PMMA top cap. They also include a 510 adapter. The tip fits great and isn’t too loose or too tight and o-ring “TFV8” style tips also work in it perfectly.

The quality is mixture of good and bad. I have some complaints for sure. The PMMA top cap is easy to get on and off and AFC is easy to adjust, however the middle chamber section is way too hard to get on and off. The o-rings feel like they are the wrong size. I had to use every trick in the book to get it off at first and even after lubing them up with some juice it’s still way too tight. It was very frustrating. The PMMA top cap makes it so that the RDA doesn’t take on heat so it keeps it cool for vaping. Your lips will never touch a hot surface. I love that. The deck and post screws are all nice. It comes with a standard 510 pin and a BF 510 pin. I used it both as a dripper and squonker. The juice well is very deep and you can just drip down the tip. It has great oversquonk and overdrip protection. It’s a 24mm diameter so should not overhang on most mods really. There is plenty of spare o-rings and spare post screws. I also experienced no issue with whistling on the airflow either, it’s quite smooth and quiet. Branding is nice and simple. A small wormhole logo is engraved on one side of the middle chamber section opposite the hole to open the middle air. It’s the same color as the chamber and barely noticeable though. The 2 included coils are clearly labeled (ni80 with specs) which is very nice as well. Every company needs to do that.

Pros:
  • 810 PMMA drip tip and 510 adapter
  • Good quality post screws (flat head grub screws)
  • price point (around 25-35 bucks)
  • standard 510 pin and squonk pin included
  • good protection for over-dripping or over squonking
  • color options
  • good flavor for medium and high watt builds
  • tons of airflow options
  • huge juice well
  • top cap doesn't get hot
  • smooth and quiet airflow
  • included coils are fully labeled
Cons:
  • the build deck is not very friendly or easy
  • a set of hex screws would have been nice
  • works best with massive builds so many not be for some
  • middle chamber is way too hard to get off
Conclusion
So with all that said, do I recommend this RDA?I don’t like to do a hard yes or no, this one i’m going to call 50/50 in the right hands it can provide a good vape but the issues with the top cap, the build deck difficulty and the air options can be confusing or frustrating for some. It’s not something i’d recommend personally although i do like it. I won’t be adding it to my spreadsheet.

This is Anthony Vapes just keeping it honest, hopefully you all can say the same and i’ll catch you on my next review.
