Hi Vaping Underground members, in this review i take a look at the ESPION Silk 80W TC 2800mAh with NotchCore from Joyetech. The ESPION Silk 80W TC 2800mAh with NotchCore was supplied for the purpose of this review by Ella from Joyetech.

Introduction
The Espion Silk is a lightweight little 80W device which has sections of a type of rubber which has hypoallergic properties covering the device. The tank also see's innovation has instead of standard stock coils it uses prewicked notch coils that simply slot into place, the biggest advantage of these are cost, i have seen them for as low as $4 for 5 so great for someone on a tight budget but are they any good? all will be revealed in the review.

The kit comes in a box that has a large surface area as everything included is all in one layer. The colours refer to the rubberised sections, i recieved the Black version which has Black rubber sections over a red body (it comes with a Red NotchCore tank). The other colour options available are Orange that is Orange rubber sections on a Black body and Brown (which is more of a light Beige or Tan colour looking at the pictures i have seen) which is Beige rubber sections on a Black body, both these 2 options come with a Black tank. With the Rubber sections i find it quite different looking in a good way but it must be pointed out when looking at it closely the plastic body the rubber is stuck on is cheap looking. The front of the device has again a cheap looking fire button at the top which on mine rattles quite badly, towards the bottom we have elongated navigation buttons followed by the micro USB port. In the centre of the front we have the screen, everything mentioned on the front of the device is surrounded by rubber sections. The sides and curved spine of the device has Black rubber sections on a Red plastic body, both sides has a little silver plaque, on one side it has "Joyetech" the other "Espion Silk" printed on the plaques. Looking at the base we have safety stamps and venting, it's when viewing the base which is all plastic it looks very cheap, i have plastic devices that look good but the plastic on the Silk has a disappointing cheap look to it but the versions with Black body's might look better. The top of the device has a Gold plated, spring loaded 510 with a 510 plate which has an inner Silver section and outer Black section. The device looks good as it's only on close inspection the plastic is properly seen, it's extremely lightweight and the rubber finish feels very comfortable in the hand.

NotchCore Atomizer Overview
A nifty little 22mm tank this one which i won't spend time on the aesthetics as it can be seen clearly in the pictures. The NotchCore is top-fill and has a clearly visible arrow head which you push for the top to slide open to reveal the filling port, when opening and securing back into position the top slides with just the right resistance. On the bottom section we have dual cyclops with stopper, this bottom section unscrews from the tank to reveal where the coils get fitted. The bottom has a rectangular space with a positive and negative cradle surrounded with peek insulator you simply seat your coil into the cradles (it's a perfect fit) you just can't go wrong and the coils are pre-wicked. I primed the coil first, screwed the tank back together then filled leaving for 5 mins before vaping (possibly could of started vaping straight off but better to be cautious) used 80VG juice and it kept up even with some chain vaping. The rating for the NotchCoil is spot on, 25W was without doubt where the coil was at it's best and it gave good flavour and more than expected cloud. The flavour is not comparable to an RDA, RTA or even the mesh stock coils i have used recently but it's not bad being as good as a decent stock coil. I found the flavour lasted quite well and the coils can be easily cleaned up and re-wicked to prolong their life. I found the tank very airy even when closing the airflow down so i found MTL out of the question but don't see any reason why a MTL version of the tank can't be done with a series of small air holes on a plate (as seen on many MTL tanks) behind a single air slot.
