I'm tired of big, fat, expensive atties - single coils continue to make me really happy.. Indeed, I am getting a little irked In-Search-Of... Single Coil Tank - with the same airflow we can get on our RSA's
Taifun GTV3, RTA
By-KA V7 RTA
Fev v4, or 4.5
Sr V4 / Vapor giant v4 RTA
Or Vapor giant v5 lot more Airy
Then there's the
Taifun GT v4 RTA lots of Airflow
All good single coil RTA,
all 23mm use these my self when not Sqounking,

ha - yes!

Maybe I should specify, folks who have used one, and to comment in the build quality and vape experience...

Small being the intention, and like the Wasp and similar small-chamber attys, run a bit hotter due tot he smaller chamber, and thus allow for higher resistance builds, which can yield better battery life and require lower power in order to deliver a nice experience at the drip tip...
They deffo get hot have one
Build quality is good
Built for round wire builds
but dont use it ,
since narda pocket an le concorde RDA s due it getting hot an being so dam small

I had my signature that I use here at ECF and Retired1 removed it... so I changed it to the character script that crashes iOs devices once rendered... I should make a post there and change that to a link... KABOOM! dead ios device.
It's up to you, but I've found that resentment and/or revenge seldom pay the dividends hoped for.

Plus, you'd likely be causing harm to some innocent person browsing from an iOS device and not the target (or targets) you had intended.

'Live and let live" will allow for a less stressful lifestyle.

If folks don't like ECF, it is very easy to just avoid it completely.

There are plenty of other interesting web sites and fora to consume all of your free time.

If vape was a religion ECF would have to shut down?

Would still be hell - complete with Satan, Imps and Demons

Wow. Thanks for the info. Sounds like they have really strict rules.

Seems like if I had posted those things about Jewish culture over there, that they would have banned me.

Mr Juicy was adopted and raised a Methodist by southerners in California

He decided to get one of those DNA tests to try to find his birth mother - and lo and behold, he is about 10% Hebrew

I don’t remember myself buying it. My inbox doesn’t show any order confirmation. My card statement doesn’t show any transaction that I’m not aware of. But here I got an Athena in my mailbox today .

If anyone sent a gift to me - my love goes to you .

It’s an awesome mod and so is the rda. It seems I’ve finally found one squonk mod which would replace my gbox as my adv.

I love origen 16s. I do favour my stumpies, but 016 are good, and I bought extra drip tips, since they are good.

They can leak a little. I guess since wick fills so much of the chamber.

Single, centred clapton, or parallel round at around 40 watts and afc both sides at 2.5mm. decent air, no obstruction like the modern hakus etc, but a little restricted dtl

I like the aesthetics of it... nice looking RSA... the few things I don't like is the raised positive block...the designer imo still has dripper in mind... I would of infilled the deck area more conducive for squonking (Flat).. next... to me there is no real upside for having a AF hole that will be hitting the leg of a coil or having them as holes at all...the two outer holes could easily been a slot and one could have a higher adjustment of AF, this would target a larger range of preferences... plus with the removal of the Leg hole...the amount of metal removed between the 2 other holes would of made up for it.

Just my observations of it from these pictures.

I don't think that's airflow to the leg - that's for big fat coil leg. And the big round hole on the outside? That's where you stick your screwdriver.

Indeed.

Wasn't talking about the hole access for the screw... this picture here from above....

upload_2018-6-5_8-34-2.png

Top left hole is directly in line with the coil leg...would be the same for the bottom.

My criticism of the AF was mostly aimed at that...and removing that one AF hole and having the other 2 as a cyclops would of been the same amount of AF with a better adjustment and more focused to the coil.

Or at least I would think it would ;)

EDIT: Guess one could just wrap the coil to where the leg doesn't jut up... but I can see some people doing just that

Mine's not coiled ATM, but Sloths vid shows how to build it:
Thanks for sharing that video on the Z-coil.

That build is very similar to how I used to build a single horizontal coil in the middle of the posts on my OG Velocity.

The problem with the Velocity is that doing a build like that with the tall chamber and the afc so far away from the coil, is that the flavor is greatly diminshed, even compared to building a single coil on one side of the posts, that is near the afc slot, and either of these is without the radial holes around the cap open at all.

I also struggled to get decent flavor with a center-mounted vertical coil in the Velocity, which also suffered from the afc being too far away.

Memories of these issues are kinda holding me back from getting the Origen Little, since I'd rather not duplicate all those failures - maybe the smaller diameter and shorter top cap on the Origen Little helps to solve the issue for lack of flavor from the afc being too distant?

Being that the afc on the Origen Little has an option for single-coil on one side, and the chamber is smaller than the Velocity, I'm thinking that this would probably be the kind of build that would work best for me here...

Thoughts?

@Arthur-VU I think the chamber size is a huge issue.

The smaller the chamber - like in a kayfun or even an ithaka/nautilus/terminator - the better the flavor.. I discount entirely the entire "turbulence" storyline: it seems a recent silliness and I am more worried about the VOLUME of air I can move/control.

I have good flavor from my taifun gt-III, Hussar and the silly Monster v3 I got for $5: I want MORE AIRFLOW. The Hussar is the worst of them: I simply give up on it, and it had a really useful tank/chamber design.

I get good flavor from the Wasp nano, but controlling the airflow is a nightmare, (yes, I hate the cap): I want LESS AIRFLOW. Meanwhile, I pulled out the Pulse24 and decided to try the 510-adapter - single coil - and immediately it has become useful. That one is strange because you THINK the chamber is huge, but due to the pipes it's not large. Too large for a single, but I've restricted the DT down to 510 - and it works. (Granted, I closed the intakes down to 1/4, too).

So far, the best flavor seems to be from tight little decks along the Kayfun/wasp/taifun lines. And, here it gets a little strange: everyone seems to claim of late that you gotta just about put yer lips on the coil: well, those tanks listed put you at least 1 and sometimes 2-3" away from the coil. So, there is a huge "disconnect" in design going on.

Just for fun, I think today I'll dismount a coil from the velocity-deck Aromamizer v1 and see if that works like the pulse24: I don't like running simple wire at 30+w if I can help it.

I too have issues with the Wasp Nano. Not for the build nor the lack of drip tip, for I found that higher Ohms, like 0.5 Ohms with either SS or Kanthal on a mech squonker cools it down and increases the flavor, and this is typically with simple single round-wire of 24g Kanthal or 26g SS, but my issue like you is that even with the afc on the Wasp closed down to even a 2mm hole, the draw is still a but too airy for a restricted DTL vape.

Also I have the Pulse 22, and the only way I found to get any flavor from it was to build the coil with very long legs, like 10mm, such that the air tubes inject air directly below the coil, and you need to sort of push the cotton against those long legs, otherwise they get red hot and give off a burnt taste, but with the wet wick against them, they do not get hot at all and then with the coil like this the flavor really pops, and also since the coil is much closer to the top of the cap, almost like the Wasp Nano, it does not require as much power to get a nice hot, moist and flavorful vape to your lips...

However the juice well in the Pulse 22 is smaller than any other atty I have (including the Velocity) and seems like I need to squonk like after every 2 pulls, whereas all my other attys that I am squonking with, that I tend to use wicks with enough cotton to fan out and stuff the sides, I can get nearly a dozen pulls before the wick is dry, Wasp Nano and Nudge 22 are both good like this.

Thanks for your feedback on the Origen Little, and also for the suggestion on the Castle.

How is the build quality and machining?

Looks like the build deck is near identical to the Haku, but with a rounded top to the cap, almost like a bell cap.

Have you tried it and compared to a Haku or Entheon? Any thoughts on that as far as vape experience out the drip tip?

Does the SS cap on the Castle get hot?
Great machining and no soaking/cleaning required, slotted post screws with nice threading.
The o-rings were a little tight for my liking so I replaced the upper o-ring with a smaller diameter one, much easier to get the top cap on and off.
My Entheon (SXK) went into the box after this arrived, I enjoy the flavor from the Castle more. The airflow on it is about the same as the Hadaly, I don't have a Haku so I can't comment on it.

The SS topcap can get warm depending on the build so I use the Acrylic one instead. The little nub of a drip tip is quite usable and looks good but I use the tapered one from the old iJoy EXO tank.

Thank you. The reviled Haze person has a video on the Castle, which seemed to show everything well enough.

It just looks a lot like the Haku deck to me...and Haku clones are like $7 on 3F and FT whereas the Castle is $24 for the authentic so...hmmm...

My Luxotic was given to me as just the mod with no Tobhino RDA included. I have a $20 Fasttech credit so I was pondering a few single coil RDA's to put on it.

Tobhino
Gorge
GR1
Hellfire Strike

Any opinions on those?

I have all of those, except the hellfire. I like the gr1 the best of the three. Right now I have a recurve on a luxotic and it is pretty nice. The recurve has good flavor and the design of the airflow makes it hard to oversquonk.

I vape in pairs - two mods and two RDAs - that go everywhere with me. Usually the newest kid stays in the rotation if its worth a shit. Right now I'm sporting the Dead Rabbit SQ and the Recurve rdas atop the Rage and RSQ squonkers respectively. The DRSQ is my favorite and has been for some time. Something will dethrone it eventually :) The Gorge and Wasp had the top spots last year for quite a while....

That is a dreidel!

@The Cromwell

The symbols on the dreidels are Enochian, or Hebrew I believe. Been a while since I've looked at Zohar's or Hermetic Order of The Eastern Star but a person tends to recall an alphabet, even if it is different from American English I dub Aunguish. Gimmel which I noted on one transliterates to dealing with a house or camel depending upon context, subtext and the such, of course these are merely the letters or atoms used in the Hebrew alphabet to write words. Conversely one accepted public use of the name of God can numerical come to 52 which is also the number for the Hebrew word of love.

Nope, not a Rabbi nor involved in Hermetic Orders but one who has done fair enough study to come to being Agnostic. Can respect the beliefs of most except for pharisees who are beholden to greed and think money is their god. Well that's my humble two pennies worth of opinion, will now digress and wonder about how it is a lawn chair can be so cruel as to mount and capitulate with a coffee table. It really boggles my mind at the moment like the near thousand year old eggs I tossed from my fridge this past week.
