New from Wisconsin...

Hey, my name is Crystal. Just joined so I can stalk your forums and soak in the knowledge. I tried vaping a few years back with some disposables, like Blu, and then a pen like model with tank. I was trying to quit smoking and it worked but not how I expected. I stopped smoking but the vaping was so unsatisfying that i just gave that up too... Needless to say i started smoking again about 8 months later.

Well a few months ago it was officially time to quit smoking, no turning back, but i needed something. I walked into my local shop asked what i should get and wasn't given many options but picked up the X-Priv. Then the guy laughed at me when i said i didnt want a fruity flavor and opted for Charlie's CCD3 (Which is hands down delicious) I had nothing but problems with my mod and it was like pulling teeth from a goat trying to get any customer service out of them even though it had only been 20 days. Anyways got a replacement X-Priv and it's been fine since. But my vaping experience hasn't been very supportive thanks to those guys.

Now, I'm off to search the forums because i've been having the darnedest problem with my new coils leaking EVERY TIME i install a new one.

Vape shops around my area were of no help when I started vaping either.
Your shop must not want any repeat business if he can't help out with your coil problem.
Are you stuck with only one shop near you?
I learned the basics from a co worker.
If you could tell us what kind of tank you are using. i'm sure someone here can give the correct advice on your leaking issue.
Love your avatar pic.
Was that your cat's expression after it found out you bought a Smok product?

Nice to meet ya, and yeah most customer support for vape stuff is pretty bad, even worse if it's from china. Though when you find some places that have good service, they'll be your new friends. Hope you enjoy the place :D

Welcome to VU!

It may be worth noting that the vape shop that sold my son his first kit ended up having to replace his Smok tank with a Vaporesso Cascade because the thing leaked all over the place and he was going through juice like a house on fire. They told my son that they'd had a lot of complaints about a particularly bad batch of Smok tanks recently.

It would be a mighty strange coincidence, but maybe you got one of that same bad batch. Otherwise, welcome to the wonderful world of Smok products.

I quit buying Smok and Kanger tanks years ago because I couldn't keep the tanks from flooding and leaking. Having said that, I don't have any experience with their newer models, but I sure do hear a lot of people complaining about them here on VU.

I hope you can find someone to help here. This is a good bunch, generous with their time and very knowledgeable.

Yes I did get some good advice and tips from another thread, seemed to fix the issue :)

What's wrong with Smok products if I may ask?

I have not had any luck with the Alien 220's
They both quit working before 6mos time.
They were not abused and not even used much because I normally have about 6 mods in rotation.
The BBB tank however I had no problems with. I use the RBA heads in them and the work very well.
Many people here have good luck with the mod's though.
I have not and won't buy another. I purchased some VooPoo Drag's after the Smok fiasco and they have been working great.

I love Smok mods, but their tanks are shit lol. I had a brand new coil burn out in 5 hits in my baby beast. Needless to say, I haven't used a Smok tank in over a year lol. But I will continue to use their mods

I wouldn't be terribly averse to a Smok mod (I'd try ONE, if I didn't have to pay much for it), but I wouldn't touch their tanks with a 10-foot pole, just because of the flooding and leaking issues I've had in the past. In the very early vaping days, I used plenty of their cartomizers, and I swear those old carts performed better than the tanks I later paid six times as much for. Just disheartening altogether, and I lost confidence in their engineering and quality control.

Yeah, the coils leave a lot to be desired.
I use the RBA' in the tanks and they work great for what they are!
Good luck with your mods!

I have a tfv8 baby beast. But I don't have a rba. Probably gonna post a bunch of tanks for sale/trade tonight with a CB Clone if you would be interested

Haven't had any leaking with the RBA sections.
Wick it up like an RTA and your good to go!
