Who know the definitions of electronic cigarette and vapor? Are they different?
I think vapor is a big electronic cigarette, and electronic cigarette is small. Right?

"Electronic cigarette" is an obsolete and toxic term at this point. I goes back to a time when the most common vapes were designed to resemble cigarettes. They are marketed as e-cigs in order to appeal to smokers, their main target audience.

You don't call a box mod with an RDA on it an "electronic cigarette", you call it a "personal vaporizer" or simply a "vape." The problem here is that neither of them are cigarettes. They're the exact same devices: vaporizers.

I and many others in the vape scene as a whole dislike the term electronic cigarette. Even for the ones that resemble cigarettes, the similarities end there. Nothing about what they do or how they work is anything like smoking. And that's not to mention the fact that a cigarette, by definition, is meant to emit smoke.

It's just bullshit lawyer-speak that's used to skew perceptions on vaping in favor of stricter legislation. When you talk about legislating vaping, it's easier to make people compare the two unnecessarily by making it a conversation of "electronic cigarettes" versus "tobacco cigarettes." It's used only to mislead the public about what they do and how they work.

They're all just vapes to me. None of them emit smoke, meaning they are not in any way, shape or form cigarettes.

Vaping is characterized as the demonstration of take in water vapor through an individual vaporizer. Or E-cigarettes are battery worked inhalers that comprise of a rechargeable battery.

Well, yeah... ...because that's what it is! :p

A vape and an e-cig are the exact same thing. They both consist of a battery that drives current to a coil, which heats up and vaporizes a mixture of PG, VG, nicotine, and food flavorings that has been soaked into absorbent material packed into the coil. The difference is in what they imply. When you call a vape an e-cig, it paints a different picture.

What do you do with a cigarette? You smoke it. So then, to somebody who isn't familiar with vaping, what do they assume you do with an e-cig? The obvious conclusion is that you are smoking on your e-cig.

Not making a clear designation for vaping makes people get funny ideas about what we're doing and it fuels all of the propaganda that gets flung at vaping. It tricks people's minds into making connections to smoking that aren't there and makes them more inclined to believe that it's much more toxic than it is, because smoking is notorious for being terrible on the body. They start thinking they're more similar than they are. And I can understand that assumption. When you think that e-cigarettes and actual cigarettes are in the same class, then it's only logical to assume that they carry the same risks.

The whole idea with vaping is that you're not smoking. You're only pretending to smoke. In a physical and biological sense, vaping is night-and-day to smoking. That needs to be made immediately clear to people who aren't familiar with it. To us, the terms "e-cig" and "vape" mean the same thing. Not so true for the rest of the world.

An electronic cigarette or e-cigaretteis a handheld electronic device that creates an aerosol by heating a liquid. The user then inhales the aerosol. Using e-cigarettes is sometimes called vaping. The liquid in the e-cigarette, called e-liquid,is usually made of nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerine, and flavorings. Not all e-liquids contain nicotine. The health risks of e-cigarettes are uncertain. They are likely safer than tobacco cigarettes, but the long-term health effects are not known. E-cigarettes can help some smokers quit. When used by non-smokers, e-cigarettes can lead to nicotine addiction and potentially the starting of smoking. So far, no serious adverse effects have been reported in trials. Less serious adverse effects include throat and mouth irritation, vomiting, nausea, and coughing.

To millions of innocent people, an e-cigarette is a lifeboat. Therefore, the powers that be are punching as many holes in it as possible, as quickly as possible─doing this is the only way to combat overpopulation. You don't really want to know what vape is. Vape will soon be taken care of by the powers that be.

Electronic cigarettes are battery-powered smoking devices. E-cigarettes create an aerosol, commonly called vapor, containing nicotine, flavors, glycerol.

E-cig is usually used to refer to a cigarette like device. Vapor is the heated vapor coming out of the devices.

Vapor is what you inhale while vaping an e-cigarette. The devices are usually considered: an "e-cig" is a device about the size of a cigarette to vapers.

Vape will soon be taken care of by the powers that be.

Well, you know powers can be and that's fine. Not ever seen any empire last forever though. There's too much energy wasted in an empire needing to remain in manifest. That distracts it from outliers who can get on with or without any form of empire, society, what have you. Sure it is nice having those around some but ultimately they all leave dirty towels.

I think I agree with all of it being called vape, or vaporizers. Agree that using the term cigarette applied to what vapers use is backwards, malicious. Apologize if I don't hold to doom and gloom scenarios though. As for dirty towels, easily enough disposed. Igne Natura Renovatur Integra That is often simply defined as "in nature fire cleanses and makes anew". It was something I got taught young.

I know you're not so lacking intelligence to present that argument. Can only see this as you perhaps holding out a barbed statement. I mean you're obviously aware of Monsanto, mercury filled light bulbs, all kinds of pharmaceutical scams and misuse of medicine & health care. I also am fairly sure you know about all the wars, conflicts going on globally, either with boots on the ground, drones in the skies, money shifted from one country to another. Know you have to be well in tune with what is going on to know that fighting against vaping is not the only way the powers that be combat over population.

I also know you too like me went and read about the Myth of Scarcity which seems to run our alleged economics systems. So I know you're not dumb enough to say that fighting vapers is the only way the powers being, combat over population. I know you know that even the idea over population itself is a fallacy. I know you like me, are aware the universe provides all for all and that balance is eternal and we can not tip it in any way, no matter how arrogant we become.

It shames me. I weep even that you need to resort to such obvious barbed statements. I am sad. I had a higher esteem of you.

I'm not sure what you mean... Fizzgig went down the lava pit in The Dark Crystal yet nothing was cleansed nor made anew from it.

You're also intelligent enough to know fiction from real. I apologize for stating the obvious. Rather that than sink lower. No point to going lower.

That's why I am sad. You seem to desire that path. Entertainment loses value after a bit and I'm sure you're aware of that too. So, not sure what value see in that path. Your choice though, ...

Leave you to it, but I'll go dance somewhere else. Have a good one. :)

That's only when I'm drunk. Which doesn't happen very often to me anymore because parties these days are just not real.

Well, I'm sure you do alright despite that. So, excuse me. Like I said wish you well no matter your course. Not going the same way myself by choice. We each have choice. I'll respect yours and leave you to it.

As a former smoker, smoking and vaping are as different as smoke and vapor themselves. Smoking makes one stink like whatever you're smoking, stinks up the location in that others can smell it, and gives one disgustingly bad breath. Vaping does none of these. About the only thing they have in common is the nicotine. It means nothing to me as to how it's defined or classified. It means everything to me that it was successful in me quitting smoking where everything else failed. The almighty tobacco lobby and the crooks they payoff in DC know this. F*ck em all.

I still haven't got the slightest clue what you were on about, though. And BTW, I never actually even said a single word about what choice I made (about anything, for that matter...) which makes your weird retort in this old thread look even more weird TBH.

No need to put an asterisk (*) in there. Just say fuck 'em all, and, seeing as my choice has been brought to discussion after someone revived the thread, I'll just add that my choice is exactly the same as yours so fuck 'em all, and, I sincerely hope they do get ass cancer after that.

That's just in your imagination.

No my imagination lets me build my own little castle in the sky. :) It is really quite a lovely exercise. you may want to give it a try sometime. Have fun. :) Sorry my imagination has a foreman, he's telling me, I need to quit gabbing at you. Bosses, am I right?

What makes you assume I don't?

What about them?

I don't assume anything regarding anyone on this forum. You have taught me that expecting anything from people using this forum is an error. Expecting and assuming to me seem very similar, ergo I no longer expect or assume from anyone using this forum. Thank you for that lesson regarding people using this forum, as well. I needed to learn it.

Well bosses are bossy.

You were talking about building your own castle in the sky and then you said I should give that a try so you were assuming I haven't already done that.

See there you go. I knew the barbs were out, knew you had half a brain functional. It is too late though. I've stopped assuming and only stated you should give it a try as a turn of phrasing. Perhaps it too was a bit of a barb, apologies for it. Did not intended it like that, I was meaning it as merely light hearted banter. Now, I do not even assume you are capable of that.

I'll fully quantify, qualify, mean what I say as I say it full on directly with you. I will not joke, will not use irony, sarcasm or in fact anything but a droning monotone and emotionless sterile tone of voice to communicate with you. I can see plain enough you deserve that consideration. As I said too late. You've burned any bridges of friendship I did try extending out to you. All of it was done per your choice too.

It was not me. It was not my attitude. I checked and double checked myself and attitude. So no I do not think or feel it was anything on my part wrong. I did make sincere efforts.

I've enjoyed seeing why I originally ignored you. I perhaps ought to have know you'd not change. Forgive me hoping and thinking better of you, than you do of yourself obviously.

The "obviously" part in that last sentence is yet another perfectly clear example of how you keep making all kinds of assumptions. To me it proves you are just being completely full of shit, which, BTW, is YOUR own choice.

I perhaps then ought to have written as below?

Forgive me hoping and thinking better of you, than you do of yourself.

Either way you can still twist it to suit what you desire, which is your choice and your intention to be negative. Even if I am full of shit to a degree it does not infer you're not choosing to be negative, nor does it infer you're not baiting and using hooking statements. You are by demonstration of it here. So as I originally stated have a good one on your own.

Vaporizers use a rechargeable module combined with interchangeable e-liquid. ... A vaporizer works in much the same way as an e-cig. A rechargeable battery heats a small element that in turn vaporizes the e-liquid in the device. Unlike e-cigs though, most vaporizers use a tank to hold the e-liquid rather than a cartridge.

Let me walk you through this and break your definition here down a bit better.

Vaporizers use a rechargeable module combined with interchangeable e-liquid. ... A vaporizer works in much the same way as an e-cig.

An e-cig/electronic cigarette/e-cigarette/E.N.D.S (Electronic Nicotine Delivery System) can all be called vaporizers, and quite often all are too. They are all in the same class of devices. These devices use wire coils, some wrapped with ceramic cups, some not. The wire coils help facilitate creating a circuit for a battery. This is important to note for the next step.

A rechargeable battery heats a small element that in turn vaporizes the e-liquid in the device.

Yes, that is correct. The coil is the element in as much as it is a heating element akin to a heating element in say your hot water heater tank. It is the same principle, the coil/element turns electricity; Recall electricity from the circuit off the battery? It gets turned to heat which in turn heats the polypropylene glycol and/or vegetable glycerin based e-juice that has or doesn't have nicotine in it. Yes, some vape without using nicotine. :)

Unlike e-cigs though, most vaporizers use a tank to hold the e-liquid rather than a cartridge.

Most if not all electronic cigarette devices have some form of reservoir for containing e-juice. Some people do use a battery and what is called an RDA and carry bottles of e-juice with them to drip e-juice into the Rebuild-able Atomizer. The atomizer is what houses the coil.

There are a plethora of various kinds of atomizers. Some use what are called tanks/(reservoir/s) which envelope an inner housing of a coil and have a flu going up through this tank of e-juice to the mouth piece, a.k.a drip tip. Others do not have tanks but are simply houses of the coil.

Some devices use small bottles carried inside the box which houses the battery. These are called squonkers. The juice gets sent up into an RDA via a food grade silicone/rubber tube. All in, all of these "vaping devices" are considered vaporizers, e-cigs, e-cigarettes.

These terms are very broad based and ambiguous for a very specific reason. Anyone desiring to attack the industry can use these terms rather effectively to condemn all of them with prejudice. Nothing you write can convenience me otherwise on that. It is my opinion and not open for debate, yet, I can demonstrate by the past events of the recent lung deaths how my opinion proved rather factual.

What was the advice of the CDC? "Stop vaping, right now!" It didn't matter that products from a proprietary device owned by big tobacco were at fault. They didn't want it known that those using THC in vaporizers were attaining black market "pods"/reservoir/s for these specific devices.

No, they only wanted to stop vaping wholesale and categorically with prejudice to appease big tobacco. They didn't want it known that those only using nicotine based or no-nicotine based e-juice to vape were not at much risk from these black market "pods"/reservoir/s. No, they wanted the public in full blown panic, anxiety.

Back to our words. :) I use mechanical mods. These devices are called mods from users modifying original equipment manufacturer's devices to better suit themselves. Since the devices I use are mechanical it means I have no computer chips in it, no wires. I have to be sure my coils are made correctly, used wisely and responsibly.

Regulated devices use computer chips to do all the calculation regarding the coil, electricity from the battery, tell you when you need to recharge the battery. My mod has swappable batteries I can recharge, not strictly internal only. See? Lots of differences yet lots of similarities too, huh? :)

This is part of why we vapers like choosing our words with care. We know there's a lot of subtle differences and similarities. We also know there's a lot of broad based terminology which means a lot of the same things yet are said different for political, personal gain, corporate gain reasons. So we like to help educate people. :)
