Thanks for seeing my mistake..... thought it was a G2 I thought they stopped making the G1 years ago......

I wish they were more clear in distinguishing between the G1 and G2, it is easy to confuse the 2. The real tell tale sign is the lack of a USB for firmware upgrades. Still for $30 it is not a bad beater mod, never used a G1 but it should hit nicely in power mode.

You would think so although I've read a couple of reviews that said it hits weak at about 50% battery. At the price, I'm tempted to get one to use at lower power - 60-70 watts. I'd really prefer another G2 but their stock may be about gone. I'm gonna keep watch for a while to see if they get any more in.

Hello all, I purchased 2 Silver and 2 Blue G2's from VaporCube and they work great.
A couple of weeks ago I ordered 2 of the black V1's from VaporCube as they were only $29.00 each.
I received them in shrink wrap. I opened one, installed the batts, turned it on on it won't recognize the atomizers. I have tried 4 different ones with no luck. They work on all my other mods.
I opened the other and it won't even power on. I tried different batts and so on.
I notified VaporCube a few day's ago and still have not gotten a response. Just sent another e-mail this morning.
If that doesn't work, I will take different measures.
I would not suggest anyone getting anything from them at this time.
If they make good on these unit's, I will edit this post
If not?, We'll see.

Probably not worth waiting for them to respond. I placed a $175 order with them over Christmas, all was good except it was missing one of the Slices I had ordered. Messaged them and never got a response. Initiated a complaint with PayPal and they never responded. Finally escalated it to PayPal for arbitration. Mind you, I was only asking to be reimbursed for the $20 the discounted Slice had cost. Well, vaporcube never responded to PayPal's inquiries, so they refunded the full $175! lol

Worked out great for me in the end, but it's a shame I can't trust VaporCube to order from them anymore.

You know its sad that the g2 never got reworked or is/was more popular and being sold at more than just the 4 places. At least the slice is still available at some online vendors, but I agree tho, vapor cube dropped the ball and don't care much anymore. Emails are never answered and there's always at least one issue with an placed order, if you can even get the order to place at all lol.

yeah, I love the board in the g2 (I bought 4 of them) but the quality control on the box itself was pretty bad (wobbly doors, magnets falling off, etc and their email support was useless and unwilling to do anything for my complaints) and obv the box wasn't the most comfortable to hold or carry on the go. I feel like I need to start shopping around for some sort of body and battery sled kit that I can put the board into from one of my 4 g2's.

My experience is pretty close to Rchmx's. I bought a Slice and it arrived DOA. Got my money back via PayPal because vapor cube never replied.

I recently dropped my G2 which broke both the lower spring loaded contacts, I contacted Hohmtech to see if I could get replacements.

This was the response, which is fair but a drag at the same time.

Hi Tim,

Sorry to hear the contact busted. Unfortunately there are no longer

parts...BUT...there is hope.

Check out eBay, see if you can find a used one, or find an original Wrecker.

We have some new Wrecker version 1's still. We offer them to anyone that

needs parts for 50% off production cost which is $56.40, so it would be

$28.20 plus $3.65 shipping.

If you can't find a used one, let us know, we can send you a CC

Authorization form and get you out one (if you are in the US).

Just like our products, this email was Hohm made

I wish I would have bought more G2s when they were available. I got three, blue, silver, and orange, and am just hoping they'll last for ever. Been vaping the blue one for a year or two now, and it's still performing just fine. If evolve ever manages to temp control kanthal like the FSK chip can, I'll have an alternative, but as it, there's nothing better for my preferred vaping habit then my G2s.

It is too bad Hohmtech is out of the mod business. I remember at one time they had plans for a triple bat G3 and dual 26650 Slice but abandoned it due to the fda regs.

To this day I usually have at least one of my 6 G2's in use and 2 of my 5 Slice are being used to compare tanks. One day I hope to have a better looking enclosure made for the G2 board, still love it.

The Alpinetech GXL case has rounded edges and is quite comfortable to hold for a box mod. It will take a dual 20700 sled quite nicely and a 30mm 510 connector with no overhang.

You would have to drill and cut openings for the FSK board though.

I put an iPWM board in one.

Ignore the hot glue, I ran out of epoxy... ;)

I think I will just get the plastic pieces to the contacts 3D printed, shouldn't be hard to model.

And I wish I would have gotten more G2's as well. If you drop the device and it lands upright on the bottom, the contacts are going bye bye. I dropped it on my wood coffee table from about 3 feet and it busted both contacts.

I'm on the lookout for some .dfu files (newer and older) for my Slice and G2's. Anyone got any info ?? I've been looking on the internet in the usual places but come up with zip, zero, nada. I usually keep all the update files for my devices, but in this case I didn't for some reason, my bad.

Buy a G1:

http://www.vaporcube.com/h-wrecker-hohm-wrecker-151w-temperature-control-box-mod.html

The only difference is the board and the cover that goes over the board and contacts has a slot for the usb on the G2 so you'd need that cover and your board and for $30 you get a whole new mod.

I have 5 G2's and I use 3 of them as my main mods.
I haven't found a better board yet.

They need to at least sell the fucking patent to the FSK chip.

I am actually SHOCKED that China didn't steal the tech.
I bet Ben had the boxes (510, box, buttons, etc...) made in China and installed the board once it came to the US.

Because they are obviously aside from the FSK Chip, made in China

Really, I totally agree with you on the FSK chip. It is too good of a Chip just to let it die and never be heard of again. I too have (5) g2's and now (4) Slice (though I think I could have done a better paint job on the Slice with a can of Crylon than they did from the factory, that is a shit paint job on the Slice). I have been running a G2 since 12/18/2016 and still think it is the BEST device ever made.

52anddone in the event mjag misplaced his files, I have the following versions:
FSK_G2_2.4.3.dfu
FSK_G2_2.4.4.dfu
FSK_G2_2.4.7.dfu
FSK_G2_2.5.1.dfu
FSK_G2_2.5.5.dfu
FSK_G2_2.5.7.dfu
The updater, and the drivers (dated 2/22/2015)
That is awesome Para as I can only find the older slice file, still searching for the G2 files.

We could only hope they sell the patent instead of just letting it die off. I still use either a slice or G2 and they never fail to perform.

I know the trolls out there like to rag on the FSK but that is usually because they don't know how to use it properly.

I am with 52anddone on the Slice paint job but some were worse than others, my red and silver slice still look new. I am gentle with them though knowing how easily they can chip.

Sucks knowing what could have been with the FSK chip but happy to still have what I got.

Those are the files I am looking for Paratech, Thanks. I think (if memory serves me) that there was only two update files for the Slice mjag, 1.2.3 & 1.2.4 (I have the 1.2.4, the latest), and also the 2.5.7 for the G2 but none of the others ? So, How do ya'll want to do this ?? I have the latest "installer" .exe files for both the G2 and the Slice BTW.

P.S. I do have the 181 watt update file for the G2 and have it on my Black LE, so will have them all with the ones from Paratech. Funny, I updated that Black LE and only run it at from 10 to 14 watts all the time, I just wanted to see what that 181 watt .DFU file did for the G2 is all.

I quit vaping but have all my g2 and slices. I have some files i can send you if you need them.

Can I get back to you on that joeyboy ?? You quit vaping ?? I'm happy, and sad, as you can't enjoy the G2 and Slice any longer, but don't need to worry about messing with all that gear every day either. :) :(

Yeah, the Trolls out there. Their just jealous is all. The real fun ones are the DNA fanboys to talk to about the FSK chip with, they simply can't wrap their heads around how it works, it's funny really. I have (2) Silver Slice's and (1) Black SE (that I had to strip after about 3 weeks of indoor/in-house use as that paint job (and I use the term "Paint Job" loosely) was the worse I have ever seen), and just bought a Red Slice LE from VaporCube for the $24 with coupon code price, so good to hear about that paint job being better (though the level of expectation is rather low at this point).

Thanks 5150, but I think mjag has me covered. I have all the update files for my Joyetech and Wismec devices, but somehow didn't DL those Hohmtech .dfu files (except for the most current ones). I definitely had a Senior Moment (or Brain Fart as some might say).

Funny thing is I enjoy my DNA's as well but there are some hardcore DNA disciples that won't listen to anything that doesn't start with DNA first and foremost. It is not only there hate of FSK but Yihi as well, oh no, yihi will give me that rattlesnake effect when I TC with it, well then turn down the jules.....nope, they can't as it is not a DNA. For those DNA groupies there is only Vanilla, no other flavor exists and damn you if you even mention another flavor coming close.

Public service announcement to DNA folks: Yes, I have 6 or maybe 7 DNA mods with another on the way, 5 of which are the new C series which has renewed my love of DNA mods. Evolv is an excellent company and I am grateful to them for all they have done but I am not so blinded by there glory that I cannot see another great board.

Whoa, $24 for a Slice LE, must resist ordering another. I hope the red paints holds up like mine and not like my friends but I am guessing it is a later generation which should be good.

I can't seem to locate the G2 files, had some PC probs on the laptop that contained them. I might have to hit up @Paratech or @5150sick to get copies myself just in case.

I still use my Slice and G2's but not as often...

Replay mode on the DNA has me spoiled.
Screw on an atty with a TC build, set the cold resistance, vape it then hit play. Dead simple plug and play TC is here, no futzing about with wire types or TCR values etc.

I have G2_2.5.5 and 2.5.7. I only used the G2 for kanthal temp control and didn't need 171 watts. I also don't like to break things that are working perfectly.

For the slice I have 1.2.3 and 1.2.4.

That's it.

Reading all this I may have to email the files to me or figure where I can put them. I would hate to lose them. I did have to redo a g2 one time to get it working right again.

I've looked at the only 2 places that I used to get all my update .dfu files from, Vaporcube (I think) and the Hohmtech site, but neither is showing any update files anymore. When Hohmtech pulled the plug on their devices, they didn't fool around.

I too only use my G2 and Slice for Kanthal TC/TL (I still don't know what to call it, TC or TL ???), but I always have at least one setup and running all the time (my first G2 since 12/18/2016 has never been taken out of service), my G2 I usually run a Twisted 30g Kanthal build in my Siren 22 V1. Perrrrrfect !!! :inlove:, my Slice is more Off again/On again with a Siren 25 V1. The only problem I have is that the G2/Slice wattage starts at 10 watts, and I am running KayFun's at about 7.5-9 watts with 30g single strand kanthal wire, so for them I use the Sinuous P80's in straight power mode, which I have 7 of (the P80's are pretty slick with ArcticFox installed).

I PM'd ya Paratech and mjag.

Thanks Paratech for those .dfu files for the G2.

I just received my Red Slice LE from Vapor Cube today, all shrink wrapped in the box. I will take it out later and see how good it works. I got it thru PayPal, so if anything goes South, I think I'm covered.

My g2 cuts off soon as I hit the fire button. Everything else works fine, locks and unlocks, screen works, all the menus work, but soon as I fire it, it cuts off. I can tap it with my hand and it comes right back on but soon as I hit the fire button again, it cuts off. Any help?

For the Slice SE, just add it to your cart, then in checkout under "Apply Coupon Code" I type "SLICEDSLICE", then click on "Apply", and that should get you there. Hope this helps.

Sounds like one of the parameters is out of whack. See if it will fire in "Power" mode first, then get back to us. I don't remember that that ever happened to me before.

I could never get used to the hard, sharp edged of these mods. But I love everything else about them. I think maybe I should also try re-purposing the internals into a new home. Gonna start looking around for something fun, yet more comfortable in the hand. Never done anything like this before - hopefully I can get away with no soldering, because I don't know squat about soldering.

Is that an LE ?? I've got the Blue LE, it was the first none Silver or Black device I ever bought and it became my favorite almost immediately (it was actually my first G2), then the Red SE was next, then the Black LE, then (2) Silver ones. There like Lay's Potato Chips, "bet you can't buy just one".:giggle:

Same exact story with me (though just the SE blue G2). It was good to get out of the black/silver zone, and now I (arbitrarily) use my orange G2 most of the time.

As an aside, I figure I know the answer, but no one knows of any retailers that are still selling the G2, right?
