Hello friends! another update as y'all have been very helpful in my 6 days of DIY so far. First and foremost, thank you all! My chocolate covered strawberry mix gets better by the day, my Wife loves it. My second attempt, a Kahlua inspired flavor is teaching me i need to learn more about PG/VG ratios and the strength of VapeWild's Coffee flavor. It's vapable but i will not be recreating it exactly as my notes are written. It's not a headache it gives me, but more of a stuffy head feeling. While I am waiting for my 25 FA flavor vapemail to arrive from Bullcity (unsolicited plug) I mixed a new off the top of my head recipie of three good sounding flavors for a shake n vape. I have run out of my local housemix and have sworn off buying premade for good.
I said i was jumping in head first, and i think I have become fully submerged in DIY. That said, I'm still really new and if I break any etiquette here please let me know. I don't know how I stumbled upon this site, and you super fine high quality people - but y'all get all the credit for my 6 day awesome transformation to a DIY'er.

Any thoughts on the PG/VG ratio? and COULD that have caused my "stuffy head" feeling I described? It'd be a stretch to call it a headache. What is the reason for a PG/VG ratio? is it just a viscosity thing?

PG and VG have many types of effects on people. It's all individual. If I go over 60% VG I get cold sores, constantly runny nose and I feel like I have a flu. You'll have to play around with the %s and find what works for you. In a nutshell, PG carries flavor better while VG will produce more vapor.

30PG 70VG maybe a lil heavy on the VG I bet. I just mixed some at 60PG / 40 VG to try it out. Oh and my vape mail came today!! - lesson learned - verify bottle size before mixing 120ml and trying to fit it in 100ml bottle
I mix at 30pg/70vg & like @inspects said it is fairly common. When I first started vaping I used 50pg/50vg & after a while my nose would have slight sniffles like a cold. After I switched to 30/70 everything’s been fine for 3 years now. But tis true everyone’s different.

Yay! Vape Mail! Exciting!

patiently awaiting another vape mail :bingo: in the meantime... do most of y'all use a scale when mixing?
HIC, in your recipes you shared with me for Kahlua and the creamier version - is the FA Espresso the same as FA Dark Bean (coffee espresso) ? That is a STRONG flavor. I'm letting it steep to see if it calms down a little.

~ my neighbors are really enjoying my DIY endeavor. You folks ROCK! no bad batches yet

I don’t use a scale just syringes. I believe it is the same FA Dark Bean Coffee Expresso. Happy mixing!

Yes, FA Espresso = Coffee Espresso = Dark Bean. They're all the same thing. Absolutely, all of FA's coffee flavors are very concentrated, and minor adjustments in the percentage can make a big difference. In my opinion Tiramisu is even a bit beyond Espresso in strength.

"No bad batches yet" is phenomenal news for your first few DIY mixes -- way to go!

(I don't use scales - just measure by volume. That's easiest for the small batches I tend to make.)

Thank you for the heads up on the tiramisu! That just saved me.

I have a scale on the way ( i did say I dive in head first) my shakey hands are getting worse with age.
I know i put it in EVERY post I make, but I really do appreciate all the help and advice y'all give. I know some folks have to be getting notifications of "likes" from old posts and scratching their heads at the timing. So much knowledge in this place....

I've added notes on a few more Flavorah flavorings - all teas. If you're a connoisseur of different tea varieties, they got ya covered. My favorite Flavorah tea flavor is Lemon Tea; Flavorah Black Tea is also very nice, especially combined with some FA Black Tea.
http://vapingunderground.com/threads/hics-notes-on-flavorah-flavorings.360301/

Reminder that FA Jasmine is just perfect with black tea flavors...

Do any of you like Coke's latest flavors? https://www.pastemagazine.com/articles/2018/02/ranking-the-four-new-diet-coke-flavors.html

I finally got around to trying a couple, and I'm not impressed. Ginger-Lime smells like ginger ale but tastes pretty much like a plain Coke. Zesty Blood Orange is sweeter than plain Coke, not very orange-y, and certainly not zesty. The description of Feisty Cherry in that review ("soda version of the experience of having Strep Throat" lol) isn't encouraging. I'll have to try the mango flavor.

Adding FA Royal Orange and a little Blood Orange to Cola tastes better than an actual "Zesty Blood Orange" diet Coke.

Recipe for homemade cola syrup are all based on citrus, vanilla, cinnamon, and various guesses of other minor ingredients. http://wonderlandkitchen.com/2014/03/diy-coke-even-better-real-thing/ - I've never made it, but it's a typical cola recipe. Anyway, if you think of "cola" as spiced citrus-vanilla, it might inspire you to try something besides the usual Black Cherry with your FA Cola.

I almost always use Forest Fruits along with berry flavors, like with Bilberry to make a blueberry flavor, or with Black Currant to add interest. My Blueberry Cider and Blueberry Muffin are two examples from my store. Pick-your-Fruit Scones is one on VU (probably want 1.5 or 2x the flavoring) that has it as an optional main flavor. Bohemian Cobbler is another older one here that doesn't mention Forest Fruit, but it would be good as half the fruit flavor in that recipe (other half being any combo of any of the other fruit flavors listed).

off subject here, but wanted to pass along an accidental success. I had some stand alone apple pie left over and some concoction of vanilla, vanilla bourbon and fresh cream left over (testing 15ml batches on my own) and i forgot my big bottle o' juice today... so i mixed them in my tank. Oh boy! that is one tasty accident! it's probably a known recipe, but I did it and it works. (plus I'm out of bottles and needed them empty)

Cool! Happy accidents are good accidents! I’m pretty sure some stellar recipes started off as “accidents” :D

After tasting the remaining flavors, I can say Coke did best with their "Twisted Mango" flavor. It's certainly unique, the only one of the bunch that I would buy again, and a vape version might be appealing. I'll try to do that, and if it's any good, I'll post it here.

If you have these flavorings and/or you like Diet Coke Twisted Mango, give this a try! If you haven't tried that Coke, it's like a mix of mango fruit punch and cola. This is very similar but not a precise flavor match; if you like the vape, you'll probably like the Coke, too.

HIC's Mango Cola
3.5% FA Cola
1.5% FA Mango
1% FA Passionfruit
0.5% FA Pear
0.5% FA Royal Orange

This one's all about making FA Mango taste sweet and ripe. Pear takes the acidic edge off Mango to give you some "ripe fruit" notes. Royal Orange functions as a fruity sweetener; Cola and Passionfruit are both sweet, too. I find the pairing of mango-passionfruit really appealing. Reviews for this Coke mention mango (of course), along with passionfruit and pineapple. I don't taste pineapple in the Coke, so none in my vape version. I do detect passionfruit, and it's delicious with mango, so I used enough here to taste it clearly.

You'll get zippier flavor if you include some PG in your mix. I find that's true any time Cola is a major ingredient. Max-VG is also max-sweetness, so I'm personally happy with my usual max-VG base here.

I'l try it as I have the flavours but mango coke just sounds wrong to me,I will trust in hic and try the vape rather than the drink, and besides it's free

Reporting back the next day this is good the almost musty note from mango has been swallowed by passionfruit,I can taste the mango but I get much more passionfruit and that makes me happy,
All in all well worth a mix even if the profile isn't immediately appealing to you, yummy, well done hic,as usual.

A few days later and this is intriguingly juicy,I just keep reaching for it,lovely summer vape.

I'll bet you'd like the actual Coke product. The mango disappeared fastest in my house, hands down. I think there are still a couple of the ginger-lime shoved in the back of the fridge (nobody really liked those).

The only one of the Coke products I have tried is the Ginger Lime. I am missing three flavors for the Mango Cola so have added these to my next shopping list — Cola, Passionfruit and Pear as this looks very tasty.

Those are all flavors worth having. :)

Do you have FA Black Cherry already? It sure makes a great Cherry Cola.

Hey hic, sorry if this is wrong place to ask but did you ever try any of fauk's blended tobaccos,I have two in my rotation, golden rollie, spot on golden Virginia rolling tobacco, has an almost oily, bitter quality I find irresistible, I smoked the real thing for 20 odd years and this is great.the other one is by nutzilla which used to be an ry4 but was then nearly overwhelmed with nuts.I don' buy vendor juices and other than recipes from good mixers this is one of my best vapes ever.

No, I haven't tried those FA tobacco blends. On the rare occasion I'm in the mood for tobacco flavors, I tend to start with small quantities of Burley, Cuban Supreme and/or 7 Leaves as a main flavor. I'm a real lightweight when it comes to tobacco flavors.

Yum I use a tiny bit of Latakia and oak wood with burley and Cuban. I find tobaccos hard so have single flavour mixes and combine from there.got to stop doing that as it means I cant replicate tobacco recipes easily

One of my favs too!
Copycat Chipotle..... sounds great except for the cilantro part, yuck, me no likey cilantro :D
I dunno how you'd replicate cilantro in a vape anyway, but the rice and lime part sounded good. I've read that cilantro effects people one of two ways. It's either tasty or it tastes like soap, and there's a scientific explanation for that, I'm just not recalling it at the moment. I love it (especially in fresh, homemade pico de gallo!), but you must be one of those that tastes the soap...lol!
