Squonkers are Bonkers

Don;t confuse "resent" or "nice things" with overpriced/expectations. A whole lot of folks at a whole lot of levels vape - or want to. I merely don't want the herd to even begin to believe that Expensive relates to Works, or Nice.

I'd love to have a BB to compare-against and test, but - like buying a "gaming computer" or a Lamborghini: it's not necessary and not on my agenda.

Interesting how I appear to resent folks when I resent expensive, however.
You can preach all you want, not many people in this thread will be swayed I can promise you that. Just like you resent low quality overpriced things, some of us enjoy those same things because they're not low quality and you can 100% tell the difference between cheap and high end. Is it worth the extra cost? It is to that person that buys it.

I sometimes forget when I look at posts made to different subs on VU and I see the post counter skip numbers...then I remember, "oh yeah I put people on ignore"

That's what I usually enjoy about the bonkers thread is information on what is worth it to me, what isn't in all price ranges

I resent a $10 POS almost as bad as a $500 POS

I too am finding the "ignore" function a very useful tool, it is rather confusing though to read posts in reply to the ones I ignore!
As @JuicyLucy said, i enjoy the information and exchange of opinions about gear. How else can I explain my spending so much, on so little : one KRMA and two O16s:headbang:

Well sent in a warranty claim to fasttech on the entheon clone with the stripped out positive post. They wanted pictures so I took a picture of the hole. Can’t see the threads or lack there of but they got their pictures. Now to sit back and see if they will do anything about it.

Your life sounds like one big misery and it comes off like you resent folks who like to vape nice things

I understand being frugal, I understand being broke; I don't understand why you seem to resent anyone else enjoying a quality squonk

Living on SS. So close to broke and frugal as hell. But have no problem with others spending big bucks on fancy vape stuff.
As long as they do not ridicule my Kangers and such too bad :)

Most here accept my tight waddedness well and I appreciate that.
I may jab at them a bit about super secret FB groups and such but hope they enjoy their stuff.

Off topic but that reminds me of something I saw displayed on a guy's desk once... a little monkey holding a sign that read:

"I've been poor and I've been rich,
rich is better."

It's true - I think. Not enough killer instinct in me to ever be rich unless luck steps in, but I have worked damn hard my whole life and if I want to spend money that used to go to cigarettes on top of the line squonk gear instead, that is what I will do

But, its the constant negativity in every thread he posts in that is such a turn off

At least yours attempted to make some sense. I love "take a picture of it not working" - lady, it's a pushbutton. it pushes. It doesn't work. Do you want a bloody movie? heh

I for one am a self proclaimed cheapskate. I’ll buy the 4.99 tanks that everyone hates and says are horrible just so I can have something to tinker around with. Like the Wismec Theorum. Most people hated it and said it was junk. After a lot of experimenting with coil resistance and placement, wicks and such I found that it’s actually a decent tank. Not great but I can get some decent flavor from it now. It’s always going to be a pia to refill but hey I only paid 5 bucks for it.

In my two attempts at getting returns... Both successful... I did make video which I uploaded to YouTube as private, and shared the link.

Not sure on mobile...but when I am on my desktop I click the persons name and in the pop up there is the ignore option.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
On Tapatalk, click the name, then the three-dot menu in the upper right hand corner to block/ignore.

Of course, if you've ignored me previously, you'll never know about this post LOL

They probably will. My Entheon had Hadaly written on the side of it. :) They sent me a new top cap....

Cheap atty can be a complete fail - and still less than an hours pay to trash. ;-)

Otoh, they can also work as well as Authentics costing 3+ times more. I have no prob with cheap/clones, anymore than I would if someone sez "Hey, my clone was OK, I sprung for an authentic!" ;-)

I think my example was a 3fVape issue - oh, I remember: the siren v2 clone that would not let the AFC rotate. I don't have any idea how to express that in a picture - and pliers and video would have totally trashed it. As-is, it's just stuck "wide open" which means I can still give it away/PIF to a beginner.

I would like to get it replaced so I can decide if I like the clone enough to save up for the real thing. With my luck though by the time I get the money together for the authentic they won’t make them anymore.

I'm like Lucy, it's cigarette money to me. I've cut my spending down considerably but will still buy what ever tickles my fancy as long as I'm able....

You know, sometimes I think about those people always poor-mouthing about vape gear and think - those were the same fuckers bumming cigarettes from me :)

I assume it's true since I don't qualify for either category but I found it funny and never forgot. I think @The Cromwell got it right after spending some time in the P.I. The majority were far from rich but they seemed pretty satisfied compared to we Americans, shrug. I'm like you I suppose, worked my ass off my whole life, but at the age now where things are a tad more comfortable. Like in the movie Gran Torino when the hmong kid asked him, "where'd you get all these tools?" And he answers along the line of "it's a 50 year accumulation of working your arse off."

Lol, if I want to buy a nice mod, I'll buy a damn mod. Poppavic is cool with me though, I enjoy a variety of opinions.

edit: don't get the wrong idea here mates, I'm not rich (still drive a 18 year old truck that I bought new) but never go anywhere except to work (or riding the motorbike), I've just grown selective on where I spend my bucks. It's still cigarette money in my mind I suppose.

I never buy anything...

Sigh...

Oh, wait... The Feedlink will be here next week.

And a DS...

And a Headshot...

Oops...

Sent from my LG-H931 using Tapatalk
Is that the DS-style clone, or an Authentic? (Only latter I know of are just changing hands).

The DS is a clone. 1:1, they say. The TS that arrived this week is authentic :)

ETA: I have 2 of the other not-1:1 DS. They work fine, but annoy me a little...

ETA2: I bought all of them in red so I can hide the multiple purchases from The Wife LOL

Do you happen to know where/what switch replacements those DS have? I really like the idea of the DS and the formfactor, but I'd be sooooo peeved if the switch ended up being unreplaceable w/o a lathe at hand.

You in their group? Would of sworn I was at one time lol (Invite por favor )

I think the preloaded Billet Box profiles include all the normal wire materials for TC. I'm willing to bet someone in the BB Appreciation thread will know!

The authentic Billet Box dna profiles are pretty lame... No 316L.. Just a couple nickel and "tank 1" through "tank 4", and of course power watts

No, they guard that group like it has the Crown Jewels. Got mine through the black sheep buy after waiting since February. Derrick is supposed to get us access to the group now but we're still waiting.

But you really want that BB RPG, don't you? I think @troydestroy was contemplating a squonkabillet, that may very well be the next step of evolution....
I finally figured out the coil position for the O16 so that now it is almost as quiet as a Supersonic.
No, not a squonk a billet but a BB with a Pico squeeze board in it :) a mosfet a billet :)

Unfortunately i sacrificed my Pico squeeze and was un able to...um... Squeeze it into the spot once occupied by a dna60...

A switchfet v2 would definitely work though but i doubt I'll attempt it.

Can you load your own profiles (or eScribe profiles) on the board without jumping thru all kinds of hoops?

I just read the last 2 days worth of posts here and someone went through that. Basically you have to remove the button panel, disconnect the screen ribbon and pry the dna60 up to access the pin out. Then you need a $5 charging board with leads soldered to it. Not extremely difficult but still a PITA... This is all not mentioning it requires breaking the seal on the BB and I'm unsure what this does to your warranty...
I'm still on the fence about doing this to my authentic BB but have done with my SXK

Watched a video of someone with the charging board with wire leads soldered to it...plug into the main board after flipping the screen ribbon cable to the side, then loaded their profiles via escribe and then buttoned it back up.

Would seem a worthwhile endeavor to do once.

Considering that it could void warranty and more importantly my lack of skills and time, I might as well forget the BB:cry:

So in some ways the SXH one has better profiles (albeit stock) than the BB, making it a "better value"?

90% 1:1 @ 1/3rd the price?

I haven't seen the sticker personally on the authentic BBs, but with any sticker, a little heat and one could lift it, even if it's similar like license plate stickers with its cross cuts, masking tape over the sticker lift it off...do your thing, reapply sticker, remove masking tape.

I think the SXK dna60 @ $130 (authentic is $264) is a tremendous value and your not compromising much. Boros are basically the same. Bridges are interchangeable. The actual body is near identical except the version text stamping is slightly different and the 510 nut is different threading. The SXK panels are not as nice (but still impressive). The display is upside down and buttons (up/down) are swapped, but you get used to it.
