Well, given the track record of "change" and "rules", we are gefuckt, hoss.

Otoh, catching retailers selling to underage has been going on since.. well, I believe since the ATF got their fingers in the pie decades ago.

Sigh.....it’s just gonna create a black market.....just like every time the government decides to restrict something. Good luck with that. If teens want a Juul, they’ll find a Juul....just like how they find smokes and booze.

I may be wrong, but it seems that Juul’s main competitors are owned by tobacco companies.
Big Tobacco lobbying dollars at work.....

Bully for Juul on their market dollar share, but crikey ...... $36 for a device kit and $16 for a 4-pack of pods.
Juul’s price point is a perfect example of the difference between “market share” and “market dollar share”.

The mod is a 200mah battery and each pod holds 0.7ml of liquid.
(Left Brain just asked what I was guffawing about.)
So, $36 for a mod that will need a recharge every 30 minutes and $16 for 2.8 mls of juice.
That would be the polar opposite of The Cromwell Theory of Affordable Vaping Practices.

True however as with the other measures on tobacco and alcohol, etc control measures with regards to underage use.
It does reduce it some.
Eliminate completely? No way.

Kids apparently have waay too much money to spend if they buy Juuls anyway.

I'll come back to "blame the mofuckin PARENTS", again.

I got zero interest in any lib that sez "you don't KNOW/understand" - dude, my ass was grass day in and out: eldest, teacher-parents, same school-system - and they allll knew each other.. I was mowed at school, mowed at home, and bullied - and not in the wussie-sense - between.

Same as "child abuse" - I knew a few, and they were definitely abused: you couldn't touch them w/o a grown/flinch and wore long-sleeves.. Don't piss off the ol man - he already had a shit dayt at school: you can look forward to The Woodpile.

You know what I read of the recent teacher-walkouts? Parents complaining of DAYCARE COSTS.

Has anyone interviewed or experienced the goddamned "student walkouts" for their idiotic 'gun-control-demands'?

Educators need to be canned, parents and students caned. You are there to learn and to educate. You want to protest..? Pay the fucking bills for a decade.

what i find BS in this whole thing is, I read the FDA statement on this a few days ago
Part of that statement was saying they would be going after JUUL to see what they have done to minimize kids using them, if they did research on if and why kids use them, etc. I took it as JUUL is to blame for what kids are doing with their products.

But did we go after TIDE for what kids are doing with pods???? Or trojan for what kids are doing with condoms up their noses??

NO!

Why do kids do anything stupid? because they are kids

I am sick of the "it's for the kids" excuse to regulate everything mentality

“We don’t yet fully understand why these products are so popular among youth,” Gottlieb said in the statement. “But it’s imperative that we figure it out, and fast.”

How stupid are politicians? The answer is this simple you morons: kids that would normally be smoking go after the Juul because it's easy to conceal their habit from their parents. Kids don't don't have to worry about smelling like cigarette smoke or getting caught carrying a lighter and a pack of smokes. Not trying to justify it, just speaking from experience when I was a teen trying to hide my habit from my parents.

Do not forget the high nic content of Juul pods and the buzz effect....
heck we get posters on here chasing the buzz...

I agree they should be allowed to weed themselves out of the gene pool if they choose to do so.

That way we would have fewer defective parents passing on their genes.

The human species would improve vs declining.

IDK why, but the movie "idiocracy" comes to mind, feels like we are definitely headed in that direction. If you have never seen the movie, the first 3 minutes will sum it up nicely:

Gottlieb is asking the way a parent, teacher, boss, or cop would ask a question for which there is no acceptable answer. We used to call that Kangaroo Court.

The folks at Juul don't know what day the attacks are coming, or exactly how. So their first reaction of paying some lip service may be smarter than most realize. I'm sure they have strong counsel to try to protect their company. Initial verbal response from the PR dept to sooth the FDA and media doesn't mean much.

Finally, how are kids getting caught? It is so easy to stealth vape with a Juul that you need to be pretty stupid or clumsy to be caught in the act.

It really makes you wonder about the politicians. Are they really that idiotic or are they assholes? Are they idiotic assholes? I tend to think it's an even split.
