My mother is seeking to quit but wants me to find/set her up. I was thinking a single coil rta on top of a simple to use stick mod that could run such a tank.
Any ideas that are cheap/easy and wont blow up in her face? Kinda want mom to like vaping and it exploding wont help.
whats a safe cheap mod that can be easily charged or single batteried..... or something? Think something super basic five click on no adjusments no screen just press to vape. Like a mech mod but with all the safeties a regulated mod.

Also looking for a single coil rta.

The cheaper the better since we have a tight budget.

Sounds like you are looking for a mosfet type mod and a tank that takes factory coils?

Getting a RTA isn't what I would call "Super Basic" for a new vaper.
As Lucy said, get her a sub ohm tank. Maybe like the Crown 3. It's what I used when I started.
As for the Mod itself, VooPoo Drag is one of the first ones I used. Still works to this day.
There are more basic ones out there but these were easy for me.
Personally, I wouldn't get a mod with a built in Battery. I don't trust them myself.
Plus you can't vape them when charging. ( It's possible but not recommended )

No factory coilheads. They are to pricy for faulty hardware.

I will have to look up what a mosfet is.

Sure i could just buy a 60 dollar baby beast tank then spend 10-20 dollars on sub-ohm coilheads that only last about a day. And then my mom can spend every cent she has on poor performance or i could get her a 30 dollar rta some wire for 10 dollars and some cotton 5 dollars and she can be set for 6 months after watching how it is done on youtube. That and you can accidentally dry burn an emptied rta but the moment you dont have any juice for a sub-ohm you ruin the cotton and are choking on a dry hit. Rta have a wider margin of error then a sub ohm coil head does.

Sub-ohming is a money drain. And my mother has tried them dry*burning the cotton* because poor salesmen. Didn't tell her to soak the coilhead for 20 mins.

Also we are poor af. And diy is cheap.

Me, I like the simplicity of the eLeaf Pico mods. I use one with an Ammit 22, single coil build. If you already have a charger and batteries, you'd be set at probably less than $70.

I find that cartomizers "e cig" feel and mimic smoking and IMO is best for getting off cigs as well as inexpensive. You could also check out the PockeX from Aspire which has long coil life and great flavor. It has one button, simple to change coils and can be had for around $20. Also , any set up using Nautilus BVC 1.8 coils would also be a great choice. Personally, I wouldn't get involved in RTA's for beginners.

If the OP is going to build for Mom, then I'd feel better about starting with an RTA. Otherwise, I'd think about an open or closed nic salt device like an Aspire Breeze or a Phix, at least in addition to the rta. Or, an Innokin Zenith mtl tank.

Also, everything from cartomizers to the Crown 3 has been suggested. Does Mom prefer tight mtl or something airier? Is there a way to try first?

As for tanks with prebuilt coils, I'm sure Zenith coils far outlast Baby Beast coils on average. For sub ohm, Crown 3 coils, Arco 2, Super Tank Mini, Cleito, and Fireluke mesh coils should last. Those are pretty airy tanks though.

For a mod, the menu on the dual 18650 Battlestar is very simple. There is a single battery version too, but the dual original is pretty small. These are reliable, nice in the hand, and never heard of one autofiring or going boom.

I guess I misunderstood your OP.
The way I took it was neither of you had much experience with vaping.
And yes, an RTA / RDA would be better. Good for your mom if she wants to start building.
You better buy her a regulated mod and a good ohmmeter to start off with.

I suggest a regulated Squonk box and either a dripper or RDTA with a squonk pin. Unregulated is the hardest to build for. Unregulated is also the best vape once dialed in. But having the ability to adjust the power fed to the coil is easier than adjusting the coil to produces desired output.. RDA or RDTA,with the coil ABOVE the juice, just easier to build and wick.

She's a first time vapor? She's tried DTL and wants that? I'm assuming so, since your asking for specifics.
Give her enough tools for success.
For newbie I would think regulated mod for adjustability of vapor, and safer. It can be very basic, on/off - up/down. Allow her to be able to adjust the wattage where she wants the vape to be, and that might fluctuate depending on how she feels atm, coil, juice, etc. I know I'll vape the same setup at different wattages.

On a budget? Go for a high mAH built in battery and eliminate battery/charger expense.
Aspire Typhon 100 (mod only) + something like Vandy Vape Pyro 24 can do single coil, easy coil/wick. easy fill, no leaking.
About $55 shipped if you look around.

Looking through your other posts indicate you are in a learning phase with vaping, please correct me if wrong.

Unless you live with your mom or see her on a daily basis you might be setting her up for vape failure going straight to what you are asking for. Maybe your situation is different but a setup that requires tinkering and maintenance beyond swapping a coil head might leave opportunities for a person moving to vaping to have a need to smoke when the vape starts leaking, cotton burns up or the coils gunk over and she has to wait for you to come and fix it.

For a new user you should definitely go with a fully regulated mod. An Aspire CF Maxx is one of the best beginner devices (IMO). 1 Button operation and a power wheel on the bottom. Battery is built in. An aspire tank and coils would also be a good fit as well as Kanger tanks.

This type of setup IMO is a recipe for success for a person new to this. The coils are readily available everywhere and for cheap and I havent found anyone who cant replace one after seeing it done.

I recently purchased one of these kits.
Been using one of those setup[s for 3 years without a problem.
Tank can use factory coils or has an reasy to rebuild RBA deck included.
And very cheap.

DRAT! the Ebay page link will not show here.

Anyway it is on Ebay and sold by 'grothus'

it is the Kanger Subox mini kit for ~$24.
The also have the Pico Kit for ~$22. I think that tank is factory coil only.

Get either LG HG2 or Samasung 30Q cells to use with them.

the Kangewr subtank mini is an excellent step up from cigalikes and such.
Will do from a slightly looser than cigalike MTL to a restricted MTL.
I moved to them from cigalikes and still vape one daily.
Easy to build on and you can get estra RBA decks and have a couple prebuilt ads I do and it is just like swapping out a factory coil.
I vape a .4 ohm 26ga SS316l coil in mine at 16 watts. Very nice flavor and decent vapor production.
And wicking lasts thru more than a week for me at a couple of tanks a day.
And using an HG2 or 30Q cell in the mod it will last all day unless you chain vape then maybe 1.5 batteries per day.

So my mother is..... preper indapendent.... so telling her to learn something new is not an issue. She has been sucking on ciga-likes for years and they lack what she needs. She almost quit years ago with a mod but they stopped making it. In the last year she has tried sub-ohming and it did not go well for her. From what she said the coils only lasted hours. And thats because she was not told that the coils had to sit in the ejuice for a time before use. She knows that now but it has soured her experience.

I have been at this for almost 2 years now. If by the second month i had not dove into the diy part of vaping i would not have afforded to vape. If i can handle the diy. Then my mom should own this in a couple days.

No i do not live anywhere close to my mom. She would have to learn everything herself. Just like i am.

Since it is a built in battery does it have "pass through"<vaping while charging> capability.

Mod wise all i want go find is something super basic noob friendly that has all the bells and whistles stripped out of it. but is regulated for her safety. True a watt adjustment may be nice but its all the menus that i want to avoid. I am running a v-boy energybox i think its kinda advanced for a beginner.

Coilheads are not an option. They cost to much and are faulty to a point. The only thing you can rely on a sub ohm coil to do constantly is fail. To say i dislike sub ohm coilheads is an understatment. They are way overpriced and lack consistancy. If there was to be regulation i would place it on sub-ohms because it needs it like gambling does.

I say a Uwell Nunchaku mod and a Kayfun V5 as the RTA. You don't want to get her a Clouds Bro setup if she's trying to get off the Stinkies, that would be a mistake. Since you're looking for an RTA I'm assuming you're going to build for her, Kayfun V5 is super easy to build and wick. That way you can show her how to build/wick and she should be able to pick it up quick. Also the Nunchaku is a very solid single battery Mod, I got one for a friend of mine and was impressed with it.

You should have led with this information. It would have changed the entire direction of the conversation.

The CF Maxx uses a 510 threaded plug for charging so no atty attached while charging. Fortunately they are 9 dollars so you can run several of them.

I find the dribble of info disconcerting, as well as the claim that mummy tried and quit vaping when a certain mod discontinued.

I don't think this bodes well for sufficient incentive or interest regardless of the kit.

I quit using Cig-A-Likes after being an almost 40 year Marlboro Smoker before I bought myself an iStick TC40W and a Nautilus Mini. One weeks worth of smoking money as the initial investment that is still paying dividends because this little MOD is still working and is my Back Up carry battery. 4 Years later I still laugh at the assholes on that other forum who said not to use the Pass Thru Charging when vaping and how the battery isn't what they say it is. Does the fact it is still serving me well classify as a STFU to them?

For someone new to both vaping and building, I always recommend a Kanger Toptank mini kit. Comes with 2 factory coils, plus 1 RBA Mini (single coil) that you can rebuild. You can even get extra clone RBA minis from fastteck for about $3. each (a little less).
The mod is single cell up to 75/80 watts, which is enough for a beginner to start experimenting rta and rda builds. (just dont go crazy with the coils..you only have 75w. (Dual single core claptoned 26ga 6 wrap would work on an rda at that wattage, quite well. - but that's a maybe later thing)

After hashing it out with mom for a while. She wants to stay close to the mtl . And does not take pods or coil heads because she has had a worst time with ghem then i have. Is the Kayfun V5 a mtl...... yea no..... thats way out of budget. So i have to find a mtl rta around 25 to 35 buck the cheaper the better. I would suggest one of them stick mods if they were rebuildable. And it will take me more time to research and reveiw everthing because i dont want to suggest something that is shity. So just asking for help to speed this up. is fast tech the only online shop that is like that?

Looking at the augvape merlin mini.

I don't vape mtl, other people would have too chime in, but I did hear great results from the siren 2, berserker mtl.
Normally I would have suggested the nautilus 2 or x but its pre made coil, these do last longer than smok's bs. But then again if you guys vape the commercial juices that contain tons of sugar/sweetener, I probably agree with you looking at rebuildable.

Mod wise, well nowadays good simple mods are everywhere, the question is can it power the builds you guys are aiming for. theres plenty other online stores with good prices, as well as non China based, which for some people might be more appealing. Take a look at our vendor section or vapecrawler

The kanger tank is what i bought while still doing M2L. The adjustable airflow and coil options easily allow M2L up to a medium draw for D2L. (my 2 new glass tubes arrived today (so I prob could demo)... old one lasted 2 years)
Demo of a M2L build. 1.05 ohm build at 12 watts.
Coil is 6 wraps of 28ga kanthal a1 on a 2.0 mm id core. Built on the RBA mini.
Ignore background noise.. lol wife watching tv.

I'm still chuckling that I found my "ancient" terminator carto-rba and rebuilt it and it is pretty much the definitive MTL vape. ;-)

I have absolutely no idea wtf you mean by "safe" or why this is even a question.

Maybe you should start with a dozen or 2 dozen youtube reviews?

A clone is a copy of the original. The Originals good a clone can be faulty. by faulty meaning that they tend to leak, short out and sometimes worse. And i have been spending hours each day going though reveiws on each prospective device. i been at it for like week 6-10 hours each day taking reading and watching reveiws. All i have is time on my hands to do this. But since the price of the kayfun is so high and it gets such high reveiws it has me looking at a clone at the first time. Clones are cheap. And ghats what my mom needs. Cheap but safe. http://www.b2cvape.com/kayfun-prime-22mm-atomizer-kayfun-v6---clone-p1088205.html this is the one i am looking at. If i had more specs to look at probably be able to hunt down more information. So i want to know if anyone has that model and if it is worth the time to buy it or if its garbage. there is a lot of kayfun youtube reveiws but not so many of that linked one.

I would recommend a Siren 2 rta (the Berserker is a very tight draw) and a Pico 25 (85w) or a Sinuous P80.
