Top Mechanical Squonkers?

Can anyone point me in the direction of some good mechanical squonkers? I started on a pulse, and have a Vicious Ant Spade on the way. I am not a high end person by any means, but have no issue paying more money for a quality product and flipped the other way as well.

I have watched a lot of reviews and other videos for squonkers, but it seems like a lot of them are not very good. I also see a lot of people claiming some of the best ones are ones that you can not just get and must be in a facebook group and then on a list. This is fine, however I do not have facebook lol. So I guess I am out of luck with any of those?

I have a Underground Squonk that I purchased from Dragons Den and it works great.
They have some others on their site as well. Sometimes he's out of stock on some items.
Many squonk addicts here so you'll get some good advice very soon.
I'm not a Facebook or Instagram user either so I guess there are 2 of us.
I'm not joining Facebook just to by a mod.

Not sure how handy you are but there are some good diy boxes also. Shapways. Mod maker. Toaster design. Search squonker in Shapeways.

That Vicious Ant should be pretty nice - almost pulled the trigger on one many, many times but I have no actual experience with it myself (enter sad face here)

I suppose a lot depends on what kind of performance you are looking for and the depends on your personal vaping preferences

There are a number of great mech squonkers out there that don't require facebook

I won't join FB groups either, lol

Love my Underground also, but it's one of the few I'm almost afraid to take outside

Damn sure wont be joining now after hearing Zuckerbergs testimony going on in DC right now.
There is an issue about tracking peoples text and calls on Android phones even after logging out of Facebook.
He says he didn't know for sure if it's happening or not.
Guess that means yes

If you’re not into blowing clouds, check out reosmods.com. They’re not the best looking mods, but they are well built mech squonkers that are nearly indestructible. They’re good for builds down to around .3-.4. Anything lowers and the built in protective spring gives up.

Have you ever blown one? Back in the day you had to get the "sub ohm kit" but I believe that is now standard

Just curious, a lot of folks are using them at .2 or so without issue. They will start arcing with de-oxit but so do most mechs going that low...

With that said, I love the REO - it was the gold standard for years - and I still own several, but do consider it a higher ohm squonker. I like it around .7 or ,8

Well I've been running my Reos at .26 for years. The spring wasn't the problem for me. The bottom of the button melted. Easy fix with a little JB Weld.
My P67 has been running .26 and lower since I got it. I didn't have any problems with the springs until I got below .18.

I blew a couple springs from shorts on my grands. The p67 in my avi was running a
.28 twisted kanthal build and after a couple puffs, the spring was very hot and started to sag.

I still use most of my Reo’s, but have started to prefer regulated lately.

Can't rant enough about my dual parallel Custom Classic squonker. The only downside is you have to go over to that other place to contact him, you know ECF. Anyway it's an amazing Mod, Love it. Check out the thread over there and contact him there to get him to make you one.

The custom classics are also great mechs, I have 3. But they are pricey.

Whenever I would build a grand that lower than .4 or so, the arcing was really bad, even with Noalox or deoxit or no-ox-id.

Very, but damn worth it if you don't mind spending the fairly big bucks

pricey.. ECF.. might be ...ELITIST, too ;-P

To me its those secret FB groups that are truly elitist - a CC is just a little snobby but anyone with cash and a PP account can buy one, lol

Is that with the new contacts?
I run .3-.25 using No-Ox-Id and have no arcing.

Yes, the new contacts. I even have one grand with a silver pos contact from Corey at CC and it arcs too, with a .36 build. I’ve heard some speculation that humidity levels may have something to do with the severity of the arcing. I live in a fairly low humidity area. What’s the humidity like where you are?

To me, anything ECF is dead. They burned that ship when they banned me for asking about getting Classifieds access and declining to provide a DL.

That may explain it, I live in Florida.

That custom classic Is pretty nice looking even for a metallic finish which I am not a huge fan of. It looked like you can only get the brass or aluminum finish? And that price tag though.

Honestly I am just an ocd weirdo who isn’t a fan of metallic finishes like that which holds me back. Don’t get me wrong the thing is sexy, but not for me :)

what materials DO you like?
(wood? delrin? printed?)
And what are your priorities?
(size? voltage drop? reliability?)
and what's your price range?

I like mechanical squonkers.

True - many of these are sold through farcebook, but not all...
You can buy a printed HAlf @ Vapinart.
You can get a Molly at High-Creek.

Ya I am def a fan of wood, delrin and printed. No specific price range as I am willing to pay more fore a well built product. I tend to lean on the smaller size mods, but am not turned away from slightly bigger mods. And ofc reliability and less voltage drop is very nice.

Well there's a few then to consider:
Reo for just plain indestructability, and SQ for modern, great shape etc. Both Aluminum though...

Molly is a solid design, and great to hold.
upload_2018-4-11_16-39-28.png

And the HAlf is a unique design and solid mod too.
