I’m not sure why you feel the Hotcig software is lacking...personally I don’t care about customization. I outgrew wanting to customize my Android phones and cars, so can’t be bothered nowadays...I just want something that works out of the box. That being said, I have had ZERO issues with TC on the 316L Clapton’s that I’m currently running. I have yet to get a dry hit...the flavor gets muted, and then I know it’s time to squonk.

IMO, you’ll be happy with the RSQ. It’s size is ridiculously small for a regulated mod, and it just f-ing works in power or tc mode. I ordered a second one today.
I would get an RSQ or two if it was an edge squonker.
Just personally have no use for poke yer finger in the hole squonkers.

Since I was called out on the soap box, I have a couple each Therion 75 and 75 C. Not crazy about all the e-Scribe stuff but they all do TC well so I'm happy. The squonk hole placement keeps me away from the RSQ and InBox and all other ones with that profile. I started liking the 75C more because it allows users to make changes on the fly without the need of a computer. Battery life is not really a problem because I usually have at least 4 mods with me and swap them (different flavors) and swap them thru the day. I also have a Pico/Hadaly combo in the car and at least one Luna/LeSupersonic combo hangs around me also.
If what Todd said was correct you will soon be able to upgrade your 75C 's to the replay function if you desire.

Yeah, I'm aware of that but as far as I know, that feature is not out to beta testers on the DNA 250 yet, and the 75C will be after that. It will be later this year, I hope.

Thanks for the reply

With the RSQ, basically I want to kill that LED so it stays off (not just cover it with electrical tape as that will still eat battery, I want to use the firmware tool to disable it so the setting stays as 'off' after a batt change), as well as put in a few different TCR values, as I find that most mods default SS setting is either too hot or throttles too soon for me, so I'd like to try amongst 00088, 00092, 00098 and 00111 to see which works best with the wire spools I already own.
The led issue is an easy fix through the software with the updated firmware. Some need the update and some don't,i have 2 and neither needed the update, but after going through the software, all you have to do is change the setting on the mod to led off,and it will stay off unless you turn it back on.That was a must for me,i hated that light.
Not sure on the tcr values as i don't use temp control, but i think i read somewhere that they can be changed,i could be wrong though.

Also as a memory jog for everyone.
As of 8-8-2018 all vape stuff sold in the USA must either have a PTMA or equivalence application on file for said device, juice, atty, etc with the FDA.
After that date ALL vape stuff aka tobacco products without a PMTA or equivalence app CAN be pulled from the market.
Or seized at customs. TonyB fussin may be a moot point....

This date Makes it EASY for any enforcement effort the FDA chooses to implement. Prior to this date it was all a jumble.
And explains why the FDA put out bids for inspectors and such thru the GSA.

Just look at a vape thing and if not on the PMTA app list it is contraband.
will be as simple as scanning a barcode since those were required for the registration process that was required to be completed last year.

This is for ALL vape stuff importers and retailers and juice makers/retailers.

I dont bother with claptons or other fancy builds any more and am very happy with a simple, single-coil 2mm-wide-spaced 5-wrap of 24g SS316L on 3mm for most RDA/RsA and RTA builds, which Ohms out to ~0.25 most of the time, but can do similar with 26g SS316L to ~0.5 Ohms for a little better battery life, and less juice consumption, usually between 30-35w if comparing to wattage mode and with TC usually @ 420F since I prefer a cooler vape.

I don’t know about the TCR values, as I haven’t had a need to use them. I am vaping on TC with SS wire...temp at 460F at 45 watts without issue (I like a cooler vape as well).

The RSQ I received from Breazy appears to already have the latest firmware, as there’s no issue with the led or any other setting resetting when I replace the battery. I turned it off a few days ago, and it’s still off.

Very interesting read...these regs apply to “all covered tobacco products”. If there is legislation in the meantime that excludes e-cigarettes and related products from that definition, there shouldn’t be an issue. If not...then things could get interesting.

Yep so far no legislation in the works. Well Cole Bishop (which has been stalled/dead for 2 years?) but it only moves the grandfather date to 8-8-2016. which would help but virtually none of what was on the market then is still being made.

and auditing products for FDA compliance will be simple.
A bar code scan. As barcodes were required for product registration of all vaping products last year.
So scan and if no matching PMTA or equivalence application it is contraband.
If no matching barcode is found in the database then it was not registered and is also contraband.

I have a feeling that in a couple years, we’re going to look back at this period of vaping and wistfully reflect:

“Remember before all the sh!t went down? When there were a gazillion new products coming out every week and you had your pick of the litter..?...sigh.. anyway, just saw pics of the new Smok Alien V5, looks promising..”

The inevitable Facebook crackdown is going to be a sh!tstorm.

So with these FDA regs, I guess that means no more buying from China unless the manufacturer has done the registration?

I dont want to have stuff killed at customs and have neither the hardware nor the chance for a refund.

Maybe also this will cause prices to rise for an imported device.

I'm guessing that we will be forced to use USA vendors or a local shop if in the USA, or stock up now and have a mad rush on purchasing from Fasttech, etc in prep for the vapocalypse.

That deadline was extended to 2022.

yes extended . found this at FDA Site. and if the Registration was extended about a year then that would slide the entire schedule about a year.
https://www.fda.gov/TobaccoProducts/Labeling/RulesRegulationsGuidance/ucm557714.htm

Still looking for the ultimate end date.

Edit: it appears that perhaps the extension only applies to the devices on the market before 8-8-2016? And only the dates for PMTA and SE apps were extended to 2022? It makes a statement that all other requirement remained in place?
Not sure my legalese reading is not the best.

https://www.fda.gov/downloads/TobaccoProducts/Labeling/RulesRegulationsGuidance/UCM557716.pdf

Also Not Blowing Smoke needs to update their website.
http://fdaregs.info/fda-deeming-regulations/timeline/#1464559664782-d3fe8793-8503

that was what I used as my source data for this error on my part.

Even though this is one of the shortest parts of the documents I wonder if a loophole could be found here by using only synthetic nicotine. https://www.fda.gov/TobaccoProducts/Labeling/RulesRegulationsGuidance/ucm462957.htm

Found this on a separate article*
However, it’s possible that a disposable, closed system device that contains an e-liquid with truly zero nicotine (or synthetic nicotine) would not be regulated by the FDA as a tobacco product, if it is not intended or reasonably be expected to be used in such a fashion. FDA intends to make these determinations on a case-by-case basis, based on a totality of the circumstances.”

This morning I was going through some old RDA’s when I came across this guy and decided to set it up....

Some time ago when I got my first squonk, the Dripbox 60w, I was bitching on a thread about the awful rda it came with. Hank PM’d me and sent me three squonkified RDA’s, the one that is pictured and two velocity clones.

I had no idea today was the anniversary of his passing when I pulled it out this morning. It is a pleasant reminder that the universe works in mysterious ways.

I know it isn't universally loved but the VV Pulse BF + Pulse 24 have completely converted me to the truth and light of squonking! I picked up a Wasp Nano and Pico Squeeze as a backup so I never have to go back to my old ways for any reason. Nothing else compares IMO.
I hereby dub theee, "sir squonks a pulse" if that breaks you can always change your name to sir squonks a squeeze. bonkers you are..... anigif_enhanced-15730-1450453372-10.gif

Damn that is nice. I couldn't justify spending that much on one mod. Feel like I use one or two a week. And having all mechs now I have to pick and choose which ones to take to work. Gotta be easy on the fire button and yell at dumbasses wanting to touch my mods.

Happy Monday Bonks!!

I just did one of the more ridiculous things I’ve done in recent memory, went through all my ‘want to buy this at some point’ vape bookmarks and just decided ‘fcuk it’ and got everything I’ve had my eye on.
Nothing too outrageous as I’ve done a big gear purge anyway recently, but mannnn did it feel good ; )
I realize the hammer of the FDA will take some time to crash down but that looming uncertainty was some good motivation. I’m not too concerned about buying anything here, but I have a weird paranoia about the International stuff for some reason.

I have done this a few times when various hobbies or interests seemed to be in jeopardy of at least increased prices or supply issues. It usually works out for the best overall. I also do a lot of DIY electronics work and all of my parts come from China at pennies on the dollar, but if any crazy tariffs/taxes were to hit I'd be destroyed. I placed a massive order, but now I'm set for a long time and a great side-effect was that a few times I've been able to make something I dreamed up just by going into my parts drawers.

Think it'll be hard for customs to catch most packages from overseas considering they're all marked "plastic parts" or "metal box" haha
