Much less maintenance and more consistent operation and often less voltage drop that a straight mech.

Less maintenance, yes but neither of my mosfet squonkers have less voltage drop than my mechs. The switchfet v2 comes close but is still beaten by the mechs. Although I still have a Luxotic and couple Picos incoming so who knows... perhaps the miraculous Pico will blow everything away.

This is the one I saw but it doesn't have any threading on the top? Which doesn't make any sence to me because the aspire triton coils have threading on top. How's it gonna hold the tank together?

Doesn't the chamber/chimney thread into the base and top?

If your mech is a good one (not a Pulse BF) and good and clean, then yep low voltage drop.
I guess I like the consistency about a switchfet. Most all mechs get inconsistent when they need maintenance/

First time I tried the Daedalus was a no-go. The wrap kept bunchng up after about 2 inches but I was so tired of getting prebuilt coils that were wrapped backwards for legs up in the krma so gave it another try. Polished the table top slicker than snot on a doorknob and tightened up the nut a bit more on the spool feeder.

Don't foresee buying anymore fused claptons. :)

Good job!

For the coils wrapped the opposite direction, unravel them and wrap them accordingly.

Its most satisfying when you can make your own coils, and that AHA! moment when you make a good set, one can hear the faint angelic ahhhh sound ;)

So that's what that noise was.;)

Thanks, yeah it's a nice feeling. Perhaps someday I'll wrap them the old school way but for now that daedalus gizmo is a game changer. The wraps are super tight and even, they look better than that vapor storm coil imo but those are cheap FT stuff.

The great thing is, I can use those same coils in the krma legs up or in the haku, legs down. Seems like all the coil makers wrap them the opposite direction of my preference.
I rewrap but it's just an additional pain in my arse and the coils don't seem as tight.

I've been getting emails from a company called ejuicely and decided to order from them since they had a flash sale and free shipping.I placed the order yesterday and got confirmation, and checked and I was charged for the order.I then get an email from them saying because of a random security check from their credit card processing company, that they need me to send them a picture of my card clearly showing my name and the last four digits of the card number. This seemed very odd to me,as I have never had any company wanting me to do that before.I told them to cancel the order as I don't trust them now.Am I being paranoid? Have any of you guys had any companies make a similar request?

I wouldn't do it but I thought about a year ago a few companies started to do that. And that may be why I think I remember and never bought anything from them.

Never send them security code on card thats why its called a security code , to confirm that the card is in possession.
Of owner , if they had a proper card system they ask for these details an checks automatically with banks before payment goes through ,
But many sites where breached and asking this gives them all they need to clone the card

You did the right thing! The company should only ever see your last 4 digits as 99% of CC's get run through a 3rd party. This is exactly why I hate that most vaping stores can't take PP.

had 2 I think want that.
I did not do business with them. One shipped the order even though I did not send photo ID.
But it is slimy that they let you think your order is complete and then hit you with that.
After they have all your payment info.

You can always get a rechargeable credit card from Walmart or some such, just keep a small amount on it and add cash as needed.

That's actually a pretty common occurence lately - vendors have been required to verify age, or their credit processor requiring verifying that address matches, etc. It's seems weird, but is not a real scam indicator...

If it was my drivers license they wanted I know that would be for age verification. They want a photo of my debit card. That is what threw up a red flag for me.

But why only 2 places among the 20 or more that I shopped at in the past year?
There is a better way to do this than sending your ID out on the net.

I totally misread this, if they said you could block out everything but the last 4 then it shouldn't be a problem. They would have the last 4 of your CC anyways on your order slip.

When I just looked it up Google says MOST states dmv records are public records anyways. I guess looking up what your state laws are would tell you if your licence is public or private.

I don't have any mosfet mods but I do agree that in general a switchfet like the Pico will have slightly more voltage drop than a good quality, well maintained mech.

However I think you will be suprised just how well the Pico and especially the Luxotic perform in regards to voltage especially given their low cost and maintenance requirements.

As much as I do prefer to use a pure mechanical device I think it's fair to say that the very small amount of dropped voltage in switchfet devices is a worthy tradeoff for someone who doesn't want to have to clean contacts etc not to mention the added safety features.

The rep said "soon" but would not elaborate further. And, aside from the look and feel, I know nothing. The model I held had a modified Revvo on top.

I can share that it felt very substantial ans sleek. The resin was quite nice.

I think that the vast majority of voltage drop in some switchfet devices is due to undersized wiring and such not the MosFet device.

How many RSQ mods are too many? Think I’m going to retire my non-squonk mods, which will leave me with a Pico Squeeze (topped with a Wasp Nano) and the RSQ. Really love the size, but not sure if I should buy a second one or wait till a good 20700 regulated squonker is released. That will definitely be larger.

Hello fellow squonkers!

Looking for input on the following...(sorry this is long and a wall of text, but I am in a pickle and beg your indulgence)

I was really hoping for a good experience with the forthcoming Pulse 80w, but with the recent scandal, despite previously being a fan of Tony B, it has all left a sour taste for me, so for now, the Pulse 80w is out. I dont care any more.

That pretty much leaves the RSQ or the Hcigar VT Inbox v3 as regulated squonkers. Prices are close with US vendors the RSQ is about $65+ship and the Inbox v3 is on Fasttech for $66 with MAP.

I'd rather keep to this price area and am not interested in another mech squonker nor any Facebook groups, or mod-makers that only exist via instagram or Facebook...

I do NOT want the COV Wraith. I don't like the hand-feel nor how the bottles work. The Gbox and others in this size are also too big for me. The Ijoy Capo has no boost converter and is limited to 4.2v/3.7 before voltage sag.

Since owning/using the Pulse BF, Druga squonk kit (and loving both) and previously an original Pico 75w (amongst many other mods) I am now spoiled for smaller mods, but I did buy a Lost Vape Drone and loved the customization options for a DNA chip with Escribe, but the Drone, with 2x 18650s and full juice bottle was too big and heavy and felt like a brick in my hand, and I sold it after only 30 days. This was my first DNA device and I am surely now a bit fan of both the performance and customization options via Escribe.

I downloaded the HotCig software for the RSQ and was VERY underwhelmed, especially compared to Escribe, Arctic Fox, or even the Eleaf stock settings editor for PC.

So I am kind of stuck now.

Ideally, I'd want the customization like the DNA chip, mainly for TC with SS316L, but I'm afraid it will be bigger and heavier than I'd like, but while the RSQ is small and feels great in the hand, the HotCig software seems severely lacking.

I realize that I am also going to be giving up on using the 2x700 batteries with these mods, but I've already got enough LG HG2s and Samsung 25R5s and 2 good external chargers (I only ever charge in the charger) and mostly just chain vape at home while working at my desk, so it's not a big deal to reach over and swap in a new batt every 4-5 hrs or so.

Also, Mooch has announced that his initial test results on samples of the Sony VTC6a's out-perform both the LG HG2 as well as the Samsung 30Q batts, but we are not likely to have access to these batts for maybe a year from now. So there is hope for improvement with this size battery down the road.

So, please help me VU-Suonking-Kenobi's - you are my only hope...

Thanks for reading :)

I’m not sure why you feel the Hotcig software is lacking...personally I don’t care about customization. I outgrew wanting to customize my Android phones and cars, so can’t be bothered nowadays...I just want something that works out of the box. That being said, I have had ZERO issues with TC on the 316L Clapton’s that I’m currently running. I have yet to get a dry hit...the flavor gets muted, and then I know it’s time to squonk.

IMO, you’ll be happy with the RSQ. It’s size is ridiculously small for a regulated mod, and it just f-ing works in power or tc mode. I ordered a second one today.

Honestly your best bet would be the Inbox and a couple silicone bottles from FT, going off what you wrote up there. There isn't much for regulated in that price-point that will give you the DNA eScribe experience. Maybe save up a bit for a Lost Vape Therion 75c?

Any squonkers in the thread sign up for the Hellfire Cobra list? I put a striped on order, we'll see in a day or so where everyone falls on the list and hopefully it won't take 6 months for the orders to fill lol

I was looking at the Therion BF as well, but I don’t like the way that the battery is confined into a space with poor airflow given how hot DNA75s seem to run.

@BrewBear , care to chime in? I don't have any experience with the BF Therion, but the batteries in my 166 never got warm

I never had trouble with the battery overheating in the DNA75C - what I did have was a battery that drained way too quickly because of the chip

Even running it low - say 30 Watts on battery save mode - prolonged it only a little

Thanks for the reply

With the RSQ, basically I want to kill that LED so it stays off (not just cover it with electrical tape as that will still eat battery, I want to use the firmware tool to disable it so the setting stays as 'off' after a batt change), as well as put in a few different TCR values, as I find that most mods default SS setting is either too hot or throttles too soon for me, so I'd like to try amongst 00088, 00092, 00098 and 00111 to see which works best with the wire spools I already own.

I dont bother with claptons or other fancy builds any more and am very happy with a simple, single-coil 2mm-wide-spaced 5-wrap of 24g SS316L on 3mm for most RDA/RsA and RTA builds, which Ohms out to ~0.25 most of the time, but can do similar with 26g SS316L to ~0.5 Ohms for a little better battery life, and less juice consumption, usually between 30-35w if comparing to wattage mode and with TC usually @ 420F since I prefer a cooler vape.

I had the Drone, the Therion BF, the Inbox v3 and the RSQ side-by-side in a local shop and loved the RSQ for size, but got the Drone hoping for longer battery life and rationalized myself that it wont be too heavy, but was wrong.

In my hand the Therion felt larger and bulkier to hold than the Inbox. Also lots of reviews on YT as well as mere mortals on /ecr have shown that the '+' batt contact tends to tear wraps, and to me this is a design flaw, so the Therion was passed over at that time. I also feel that the way the bottle just hangs from the tube in the Therion seems kind of janky to me, and is in the way to change batteries every 4-5 hrs or so.

So the Inbox would have the edge for being DNA, but it is about 30% larger in height and width than the RSQ.

Since I was called out on the soap box, I have a couple each Therion 75 and 75 C. Not crazy about all the e-Scribe stuff but they all do TC well so I'm happy. The squonk hole placement keeps me away from the RSQ and InBox and all other ones with that profile. I started liking the 75C more because it allows users to make changes on the fly without the need of a computer. Battery life is not really a problem because I usually have at least 4 mods with me and swap them (different flavors) and swap them thru the day. I also have a Pico/Hadaly combo in the car and at least one Luna/LeSupersonic combo hangs around me also.
