Dovpo Trigger vs Smoant Battlestar

I've been using the Smoant Battlestar for about a year now! It's suffered drops and all sorts of abuse. My daily driver even out on the job site. Within the last few months the 510 has started getting loose and my atty wobbles. I've taken it apart and can't find any way to fix it. Now I'm looking into buying another dual 18650 mod around the same size and shape to replace it. I typically use an RDA with kanthal coils in vw mode so tc isn't that important to me.

I've been looking closely at the Dovpo Trigger that sells for about the same price. One thing the Trigger has that I haven't seen before is a bypass mode that essentially turns it into a mech mod. Does anyone have this mod or have any experience with a similar mod that you would recommend or should I just get another Battlestar?

I also have a battlestar and hadn’t heard of this dovpo model before. I read a few reviews and the rating are extremely high for what that’s worth.

I read the reviews as well, but there's nothing like hearing from someone who has owned one (or both) before.

A lot of times the reviews arent as accurate as you would think. Before I bought my Battlestar I had an Alien 220.. for about 3 weeks. If I had reviewed it within the first week I probably would've rated it 5 stars. The second week it started giving me problems. By the end of the third week it wasn't functioning at all and I sent it back. The seller asked if I wanted a replacement, but I asked for a refund because between that and other experiences I'd read in the forums I had lost any faith in the product. A friend of mine had a similar experience but his lasted him about 6 months.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find enough info about this mod in the forums to know whether or not it's going to last over 6 months. I bought the Battlestar because everything I had read on it was positive. I didn't expect the 510 to get loose in a year, but that could be due to one too many drops.

I took the thing apart and couldn't find any reason why it would be loose so I sent Smoant an email about a month ago asking if they had any advice on fixing the issue and never received a reply. Them not responding to my question at all is one reason I'm considering a different mod. I also like variety, so I want to try something new. I love the size and shape, though. It fits nicely in a small nebo flashlight belt clip holder.

I couldn’t agree with you more. @SirRichardRear is a great reviewer as is @Deucesjack - both post reviews on this forum. @SirRichardRear has a google doc that tracks his recommendations, I suggest you look there as well as here and vapinginsider.com. I don’t think either of them have reviewed this specific mod though.
Thx for the kind words Jr. I have not reviewed the Dovpo yet. However, I do post all of my reviews on the afore mentioned forum.

No problem. The number of new mods out and coming out is very overwhelming these days - obs bat, modefined, vboy to name a few. I’m amazed at how you and other reviewers manage to keep up with the pace. I truly appreciate what you do because it helps me as a consumer weed out the good from the not as good.

It truly is a labor of love. I got some big things happening in the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

SirRichardRear's review shows the 510 around the 5:00 timeframe if that helps any.

If you want something with a similar shape, consider the Minikin 2... Awesome mod...
