I'm out of sick days and will have my paycheck docked so I can't afford to stay out. Plus, I feel better and have a desk job so hopefully I can make it through today without passing out. lol :):)
I'm heading back to work today as well. I'm still a little sore but I think I can handle it. I can't take the muscle relaxers because they make me sleepy so I'm going to save what's left to take at night. I'm not looking forward to driving again though but I'm determined to overcome that fear. I can't be a hermit forever. Good luck on your first day back!! <3

Planted my garden a couple weeks ago....hope I don't lose anything. COLD front heading this way....:(

I'm procrastinating pruning my roses. I normally consider Valentines Day as the proper time to prune them, but what with the flu and the rain... it hasn't gotten done yet. Maybe over the weekend, if the ol man is around to remove the pruned-off detritus. Our date of last frost is traditionally mar 25, but it already feels like spring... which is probably misleading; ma nature may have a good bit more freezing weather up her sleeve. What I dread is having all this warm rain, coming up from the Gulf... and Alberta decides to send down one of her motherfucking clippers to freeze everything solid. Really wish Alberta would keep her damn weather to herself! GA doesn't want it!!!!!

Saw our GP today for a six month physical. We got into a rotation of that, she was wanting to ensure a good level of care and we're not the type what is constantly at a doctor. I know it may seem like we are at times with what's posted, we are not though.

The GP put us on a yearly physical schedule as we left. She and my wife were talking about the dark and generally crappiness of Winter. They both brought about S.A.D (Seasonal Affected Disassociation/Depression). I remembered back to boot camp and having been taught about shortcuts to kind of steer yourself around it. Yes, it can catch up later, usually does.

Hopes for this Spring include one that does want to see a return of multi-flora roses. We've tried near everything short of depleted uranium bombing to eradicate them. They can have root stock burrow up to ten foot under ground and lie dormant a few years. It can be rather intense to manage them if they grow up and blossom out, and damn the thorny spikes on them.

Wondering if I'll need to go back over and help her dad this year with grounds there. Might have too as I've taken note of how the other SIL does as little as possible. There was at least a month of garbage bags out on the front porch. Her dad likes for it taken up to a building and put in until he sets it out each week. Oh, it might be a hundred yard walk to the building from the house door and the garbage bags only average around ten to fifteen pounds. I just know it's such an arduous task. *smh* Her grandfather's place is slipping to ruin.

I'll be glad of Spring's arrival, even if I do need to go up and help out. No yard work here at the apartment. They've got contractors to come in and do. Suppose that's a benefit for paying a bit over three hundred a month in rent. Aw well. I'll figure something to do out, even if it is wrong. *chuckle*

When we moved here, I stopped suffering as much S.A.D. as previously; my desk, where I spend most of my time, was in the kitchen, which has terrific sun exposure both front and back, so even in the winter, plenty of light. Then I moved my desk into my room, to make room for the new desk we got for our son, since it wouldn't fit in his room. I got rid of the old non-functional blinds that were here, and put up new ones that actually function properly, and since I'm right by the window, it's adequate, to get the front light exposure.

You're right that roses are VERY hard to kill... but somehow, my mother managed to kill quite a few. The Knock-Out roses still growing in their front yard are alive, I'm convinced, only because I took over their pruning.

And here's a pic of that early Spring I mentioned... kind of a gray day, and you can see the dead leaves and other general detritus of winter... but the daffs think Spring has sprung!

I have been all kinds of silly happy here in the apartment. There's a window over the back of the kitchen sink. Each of the second story bedrooms has a window. The living room boasts a double door with glass panes. There were Venice blinds hung in each window and on the double door. We put up a set of heavy curtains over the double door, helped cut the draft of Winter.

Living here we're above ground. :) Living with her sister we were nestled into the side of a hill, half of the house was underground nearly. It was cinder-block with little to no mortar in places and it had begun to warp, crack. There was insulation in the behind the drywall on the outer walls but it didn't help. Her BIL swears he listened to her Pawpaw, took suggestions, did it how it ought to have been done. Me and her both know her BIL talks out his ass, too.

So hows my Fugee peeps today???

:vapemail:Mt. Baker sent me a $20 240 ml bottle of max VG 18 mg nicotine per ml juice. Along with it they sent an RBT ring, a 15 ml sample bottle of a flavored juice called Beast Treats. I put 1 ml of the flavored juice in a 10 ml bottle and filled the rest with unflavored.

The flavor has taken a little for me to enjoy. At first it was a bit peppery, now, it's mellowed out and tastes more fruity than Hawk Sauce. I think I kind of like the flavor. Not sure it would be an ADV but I could vape it a while. :)

It got hot here today. I had to open our windows, turn on a fan and get air moving in the place. My wife commended my assault on our upstairs toilet, it was spotless. :D :) The tub was also cleaned well. If I'm lucky I might get fed. :)

It worries me. Weather like this will force the dogwoods to set buds, and then BANG! end of March, we'll get another freeze or hard frost, and the damn things will all bloom out brown. I fucking hate when that happens.

I woke up with a new recipe in mind yesterday. I finally have some marshmallow flavoring, well, DX marshmallow anyway... and I have vanilla whipped cream and regular whipped cream... and I've had blueberry extra and banana nut bread for quite a while... the new recipe I've named Bluenanaberry Yum. Had planned on mixing it tonight, but had some sort of painful attack this evening, upper gas or gallbladder, not sure which, but it hurt, so I didn't do anything after the dishes except lie there and whimper with a heating pad across my abdomen. Tomorrow for sure, and I cleaned up my other good Achilles, just need to put a coil and wick in it once I get the juice mixed. I'm very hopeful about this flavor.

Yep that's what I was thinking about as well. If our Irises come on good this year and then take a frost, we've oone cluster that's only been out a year. The big cluster from my Pap have been out there at her sister's for about four years, and out all together for quite a many year. The older ones will handle a light to mild frost alright but I fear the yearlings might not do as well.

I might be wrong though, Irises continue to suprise me. :) Last year was the first year since being back at her sister's that Pap's bloomed anything besides purple. She had some purple ones come out. Then, I watch her surprise as she finally got to see the beautiful pink ones I knew could bloom out.

The ones I dub Pap's are the ones from a group he brought out of the woods. He found them growing wild in a variety of colors. Darndest thing he'd seen. So, he took them after watching them a year, out and on the bank across the road at grandma's. He never mentioned it to grandma. Then, one morning she looked out that end of their trailer and went estatic. He just chuckled, "well how about that?"

Yes, I loved hearing my grandmother tell the story of going to Louisiana to see Pap on his leave from the Army. He was going to go out the next day for Germany. She went with him to a dance social the USO was having for the 'boys'. It was here she told him "Pap, it's now or never if you want to make an honest woman of me. If you don't I'm heading back up to the mountain." He right then took her hand and lit out to find a justice of the peace to get married. So, this is why my Pap's irises are are ever so special to me, and now to my wife. :)

Bah, romance is dead. *chuckles*

Oh, oh, oh, ... blueberry, and um, hmmm yummy marshmellow. :inlove:<3 You'll need to let me know how that fares out when you do get to it. I might have to break down eventually and save a bit toward more robust DIY juice starter kit, and yep I'm planning on using what @chopdoc suggests, mix by weight. I do alright using syringes and ml's but that doing by weight is seducing me from the simplicity in which he describes it. I'd like to find a way to figure a candied pear recipe if there is no actual one 'out there'. Know that likely will be one proving a bit difficult as pear is a flavor that I think of as delicate.

I'm sorry you had to have that pain yesterday. I keep having fun of late with that adorable Author guy that makes you go gick and pop. My left knee keeps immitating a shotgun. Hoping the warmer weather can help 'draw out' the dampness that Author uses to make our joints ache. Also been gradually walking on our treadmill, little each day to build my way back to walking at least 30 minutes a day. Did the figuring and consider my current weight. I need to drop one hundred pounds at the least. Going to be greatly reducing carbohydrates intaken. Wifey's cakes, sweet breads, pastry treats, pastas will all have to be damned. *chuckles* I can't ask her to not fix, she herself would starve. But I need to knock them down if not fully out. Figure those and lack of exercise are my demons.

Well, need to go wait on the phone guy. He needs to fix the line, keeps getting waterlogged when it rains. No good having home service if it's not usable. :-| Y'all run 'er slow, gfy and try having great days. :)   If you get extra hugs, pass 'em along to somebody you see having a struggle. :)

This false spring we are having might get yalls flowers. Looking at radar it seems @Atchafalaya is about to get some snow/sleet today. If its getting that cold that far south, I would hate to see how bad cold snaps will be this spring. But it is only February so does anyone in the north really think winter is over with :)

Morning yall and GFY :)

And pear is a hard flavor to work with. By itself all that I tried pretty much tasted like shit. Its ok as a supporting flavor but as the main flavor of a vape, good luck.

Well, since I know that you have to deal with a budget as I do, I wouldn't recommend trying to get all the DIY stuff in one swell foop -- get a bit of this and bit of that, till you have all the equipment you'll likely need, and the nicotine... then, when you buy flavors, it doesn't cost a lot. If I'd had to buy all this crap all at once, I'd still be buying overpriced and under-flavored pre-made juice.

The marshmallow is just a supplementary background flavor, that i think will blend well with the 2 whipped creams to set off the blueberry and banana nut bread nicely. If it still needs more creaminess, I may also add a smidge of DX banana cream.

I agree that pear is a very delicate, elusive flavor, but you won't know till you try. ;)

I have a very hard time myself thinking winter is really over, when Feb isn't even over -- I'm thinking we may indeed have to look at brown dogwoods this year, it's been so unseasonably warm. I've seen some godawful ice storms at the end of March, in the event that I mentioned dreading -- warm rain from the Gulf while an Alberta Clipper swoops down on us, causing every kind of mischief and mayhem imaginable. But even that sort of weather wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for all the idiot yankees with their "Oh I can drive in THAT" mentality -- no you cannot fucking drive on solid ice when there are zero plows and salt trucks, and there are 10,000 imbeciles who thought the same thing in front of you clogging up the road into a damn parking lot! If those brain trusts would just keep their idiot asses at home as the southerners do, there would be FAR less of a problem.

It's cold. Not as cold here as the Dallas area where my son lives. Part of their roof caved in around 4:30 this morning and black sludge and all other yuck came into the house. They've had a roof leak for months and the landlord wouldn't fix it. now, they have winter mix coming in through a 2x2 foot hole. I guess the contractor is on the way still.............but my dil is 7 mos pregnant. :tantrum:

Mid February and my AC is running already!

@MyMagicMist, morely the only thing you need to mix by weight is a decent scale. You dont want to go too chinzy on this. It has to measure to the .00 reading to work for mixing. At least in my opinion. The LB-501 is what most that I seen on forums use me included. FOr $33 its a great scale.

So far I've avoided that... mainly because there are ceiling fans all over my house. :D I try to wait till the first time it hits 80 degrees or higher, OR, when the damned yellow shit starts flying -- mid-March, maybe.

I bet! The humidity doesn't usually get too bad here till maybe May... but I usually have to resort to the AC by April at the latest, thanks to all the damn pollen in the air. I'm not allergic to any tree pollen, which is what coats everything so early, but there's just so damn much of it, it's like trying to breathe a sandstorm!

My house seems to be well-designed for warm weather, though not so much for cooler weather -- the ceramic tile all through the house helps a LOT -- of course, in the winter it's like living on a hockey rink. :D But with the cool tile and all the ceiling fans, it helps a lot at the end of winter and beginning of fall, when the days are warm and the nights cool. The fans' winter setting, where it's pulling air up instead of pushing it down, brings the tiles' coolness right up into the room.

Ok, I finally got off my unmotivated ass and mixed up the Bluenanaberry Yum. As a S&V, it's not bad at all, though a little light. After I vape what's in my 2nd Achilles right now, I'll set it aside and try it again in a few days and see if the flavor strengthens any.

I want banana cream pie now.

Hard to know for sure until I give this a few days, but I might add about 1% DX banana cream, as well as 1% of another blueberry, the INW Shisha Bilberry, to strengthen both of the fruit flavors just a tad. But I'll definitely wait at least a couple days before i do anything to it. My son says he thinks it could be sweeter, but he uses a lot more VG than I do, so that would give it more sweetness all by itself...and he'd probably tweak the recipe to make it 1% sweetener instead of .4%.

Fly by post...
Hey y'all! Been busy trying to find a car. The car part of the insurance has been settled. They totaled my car.(no big surprise there) Anyway, I have until Tuesday to get a car because that's when the rental runs out. I'm also having other issues bodily with the accident, so I'm back to the doctor today.
Have a great day all!

It's weird, but this morning, that bluenanaberry doesn't hit me as well as it did last night. Not sure why; it might just be that my smeller is still somewhat out of sorts. I might try something using the blueberry but skip the banana nut bread, and substitute something like TFA cheesecake graham.

Afternoon fugee's and you know what to do :teehee:

Getting tired of my ADV's yet anything I think of in the way of a new ADV dont sound good. For the last year or more my daily vapes are strawberry, cherry, peach, vanilla custard, and a pineapple dominate tropical vape. Guess I am gonna have to start surfing the ejuice pages and try to get some new idea's for a new ADV. Maybe I will come up with a awesome idea and can name it Drone Killer in @Atchafalaya honor :D

Alright, that will be what I'm aiming for next shopping round. This round commenced and finished a wee bit ago. Needed to get a key-less chuck for the Daedalus, was unsure which M7 or M8 so I got one of both. Despite vowing to go back the Church of Rayon, somehow a 180 pack of Muji cotton pads got into my cart. Rounding it out was some stainless steel wire, and something I'm sure @The Cromwell will get a chuckle out of, a wasp nano rda with a PEI drip tip and a tiny o-ring for the pin if it's required.

Most of that was stuff which seemed needed. Granted I might have splurged just a little in getting the RDA but I've been meaning to give it a try for a while now. Liking the vape from a Gorge RDA. The Gorge to me seems very similar to the NaRDA, although it can hit a lot harder and gives good flavor. I'm thinking the wasp by shaving 2 mm off the diameter of the Gorge, will pack more flavor punch. The stainless steel I'm needing to get better situated and going on making really nice Clapton wire. Think I'm getting the technique down well enough to move to stainless. The cotton, well I'll have near lifetime of wick material then. *grins*

All totaled my order come in just a little over $35, out of just under $50 I have on hand to spend. Now, the rest will stay on that 'pay/debit' card as a bit of 'emergency' funds until we see more clear. Wife is planning on doing some 'not cheating fair' maneuvers so as we can possibly get a bit clearer sooner. She has no plan though so I cannot be tortured, bribed to fess up any kind of plan. All I know is she says, "it'll be alright." She does well like that unlike some others.

That falls in line with how I'm thinking about it too. That and I've realized I can be happy vaping unflavored, or diluting flavored juices with unflavored. I'll build up a DIY 'setup' on a gradual means. It'll be there when I get there. *chuckles*

Me and wife near went a round today. She vacuumed the living room *gasp* I had only done it last Monday, thought it was still alright until she pointed out some lint bunnies. She also did a very, very, small load of dishes as well as doing the laundry. Told her she didn't need to do any of it. Here she turns around and vacuums the carpeted stairs. I had to fuss and tell her they were got last week as well. She respond that she wasn't sure I thought to get the stairs, they were high traffic and couldn't hurt anyway. Curse her having days off from work, she helps clean, :gaah:it'll drive me mad. Oh wait, never mind. ;) :)

She told me though she didn't mind doing it as I'm here doing it most of the time, she likes to help so i don't feel overwhelmed or that she doesn't care. Of course, I did thank her a good bit too. :)

Think I found out what really happened to @Atchafalaya drone :p

Another lil tip -- Wizard Labs offers a BUNCH of diff brands of flavors in 7ml vials, for like .99-1.99 -- really excellent way to try a lot of flavors and find flavors you really like without breaking the bank! Once you narrow down the ones you'll use a lot of, bullcityflavors seems to offer the best prices on 4oz and larger sizes of pretty much everything -- I had thought I was getting a good deal, ordering 4oz bottles directly from TPA/TFA, but bullcity edges them out. They're pretty close to you too, since they're in NC, and their shipping is PDQ -- they even fill and ship on Saturdays, which ECX never does.

I think I mentioned how my ol man really stepped up on the usual daily chores while I was flat on my back with the flu -- I think he felt bad for bringing it home from work! :giggle: He did that one night this week too, that night I had the bad [gas/gallbladder] attack. He's by far my favorite human -- even my son has to take 2nd place in the favoritism dept, to my husband -- I chose my husband; karma chose my son. ;)

Ah ha, now the secret way to out cheap @The Cromwell is made apparent. *chuckles* .99-1.99 for 7 ml flavorings to set up for sampling even beats out EC Blends. They sell 5 ml bottles of flavored juice for $2.50, which on the one hand is indeed rather cheap to try their line of juices, on the other hand it could turn out a little steep to 'dabble' to create your own blends.

I'll have to keep Wizard Labs in mind for this as well as Heartland Vapes over Wizard for nicotine. I think they both use the same grade nicotine, that which goes to Johnson & Johnson, only Heartland sells it cheaper.

I told my old Lady that I need to work harder at being a bad husband. Follow my logic a minute here. She's always telling me I don't tell her no enough. She'll go buy shirts, spend excess money on nail polish. Which she did that this week, because I left her 'unsupervised' in the nail polish aisle of Dollar Tree, loaded the bottom of her basket with bottles of nail polish. *chuckles*

So in light of that, I need to be a 'bad' husband in order to tell her no more. That also means I need to go buy lots of rum, stay continually drunk and verbally assail and harass her no ends. I also need to toss my dirty clothes all over the place and leave them laying around, set around in the apartment in my skivvies, belch, burp, fart, pick my nose and in general be a total slob.

Besides thus teaching me to say no to her more, I could get on disability for sure if I were a drunk that chose not to reform. I kid you not her family knows of cases where that actually happened. Although, I doubt it would work in my case. She told me to knock myself out trying but she's not buying the drink. *lol*

If she left me over drinking, I'd not live with myself either. I would have broken a promise to grandfather. That's on my honor and despite all else I'm keen to being honorable as I can be.

I help her out because we're together in our life. I love her, it's what loving husbands do, helping out. I cannot afford to offer half the rent money so helping out and keeping the house nice pays it for me. Lots of decent and good reasons for me to help her. They all pale to loving her and wanting to make life bearable for her, for us.

And to think I'm from the 'Lost Generation'. Maybe we ain't so lost as we know what life takes and we got brought up to meet its insanity head on. We might even get us all back to the dust of stars. ;) :)

I used WL a few times in the past but now only use BCF for flavoring and do not need to buy any nicotine for the rest of my life.
Have lots of nic in glass in the deep freeze.

Actually I have gotten pretty much out of the trying new flavorings thing. Since I cannot use most of them and wind up tossing or Piffing them.
Still have prolly 30 new ones I have not tried yet too :)

Well, like I said I'm alright even using unflavored. My hang up on vaping is it is in fact a replacement for cigarettes for me. I've no delusions otherwise. I might like to taper off nicotine but if I don't at least I'm using it in a greatly safer manner. So there's my rub in it.

I like some flavors but having a limited sense of taste, due in part at least to no sense of smell, it's difficult for me to find something I like. That's why I think/feel a need to try different flavors comes in for me. As it is I'm diluting flavors down by mixing pre-made juice into a 10 ml bottle, using 1 ml of the pre-made to about 9 ml of the unflavored, ergo a 10% or less ration of 'flavor'.

I do that to economize as much as also give myself and the flavor 'time' to 'meet'. Don't want to get something which tastes like I imagine dung to taste, then get put off three or four flavors because they contain something from the 'dung' flavor and I can't figure out what is what taste wise. Kind of a rough path to balance on. Aw well, I muddle through. :)

Oddly, not having a sense of smell is not considered debilitating for the federals. Lose your hearing or eyesight, you're disabled. Lose or don't have touch or smell, you're not. Strange how that reasons out. Would you want me in hole welding around noxious gases, unaware of them or the pressures building up and one stray spark later, two city blocks leveled you're explaining your welder lacked a sense of smell? And not that I think I ever would do that, but at one point it was all I wanted in life, to weld and do the really tough work in the field, we all dream. :)

Ah, I'm tossing out a speckled horse when y'all watching the solid colored ones. Realize now, there's folks I miss. Some merely just to talk to, get reminders from them. Kind of a day I about half figure that going out to the barn and hanging meself might help matters a bit, least I'd have something to do for a few minutes. Nah, better can that rot. I'll go look at my word find books ... a less than ecstatic yay.
