New Gbox 200 squonk. No flavour!

Hi guys,

Read alot of these forums and finally needed to ask a question of my own.

I have a Gbox 200 with the Radar RDA.
The pre built coils are coming in at .17 ohms and i vape at around 100 Watts.

Currently I'm getting very little flavour after a day or so of vaping with this set up. The e liquid is fine on other RDA's and tanks. Is there anything wrong that you can see? Any tips at all please?

I have messed with the Watts, air flow and coil height with no increase of flavour.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

How your airflow and coils line up are important when it comes to flavor. I don’t have the radar rda but someone on here does.

I have my airflow lined up right in the centre of the coil, and hitting the lower half or third of the coils. If that helps narrow it down. I'lI wait and see what other suggestions may come up.

No problem. Sounds good to me. What else do you normally use, out of curiosity?

Well I'm relarelati new to rebuildables, but I have been using a Tsunami RDA for a couple of months and that's been pretty good and the flavour was good.

I've got a Vandyvape Mesh rda aswell but for whatever reason I got alot of spitback so that's unused now.

Yea me and it sucks I use my gbox with the drop and/or peerless rda, however the mod does have significantly issues with the ramp up. And its not the coils or anything, I have to use mine like 20-30 watts higher than on my g2 or drag, that might be an issue here too for you. To me it feels very slow and not powerful, maybe I'm just spoiled but its not my favorite mod lol. Anyways, try a different RDA, if I'm not mistaken you should be able to run the VVM with regular builds instead of the mesh wire, maybe that helps with the spit back and you get more satisfaction out of it.

I was thinking its probably just the RDA. Usually the atty that comes with a squonk is not the best. @csw1989 , how do you feel about single coil RDA's? You should check out the wasp nano. The can be had for under $20, great for squonking and flavor. Something to consider.

@eStorm glad to know someone else isn't particularly happy with the mod. I'll give it a blast on 120ish Watts and see what happens. If no improvement I'll put it out of action for a while.

@skt239 thanks again for your advice. You are probably right aswell. I'll have a look online at the Wasp Nano. I'm in the UK so hopefully I can find one online over here. Going to give the VVM a bash with the regular coils aswell.

I have the gbox as well and i really like it. I like it a lot more than my mech squonks. I can't verify if the wattage is lower then it should be since i havent used it with the same attys ive used on other regulated devices with similar builds.

On gbox, i have the pulse 24 with a single staggered fused clapton that Ωs out to .49 and im running it at 40-50watts and its working real well and great battery life. I havent used the radar it came with. Try running it with a different atty. At first i had my hadaly on it, but it kept changing the Ωs or saying no atty. Since i put the pulse on it, its been great.

Only thing im not a fan of with this device is the squonk set up, the bottle is pretty stiff, and i hate that metal tube cause you cant get the last like .5 mL. I have seen a couple ways to fix this, one i wouldnt recommend because it will void the warranty which is cutting the tube and putting the common bottles and tube set up, the other is to take out the two screws and the bracket, then you can take off the metal tube thats attached but a small hose, put a longer hose and common bottle. Doing it that way will allow using and bigger bottle as well

Definitely looking fpr a new atty this week. I'v been looking at the Dead Rabbit, the CSMNT and now the Pulse. Have you had any experience with these others?

With regards to the bottle, this is my first squonk so I've never used another bottle type. I'll stick with the standard one I believe, because I know no better haha.

I have had to take my mod apart once already to tighten up the 510 connection as that became loose after 2 days and my atty could turn a little bit without unscrewing. Saw on YouTube that its not uncommon with this device.
I suspect the device may be lower powered, as I was up at 120w on my old favourite Cleito 120 when doing a comparison, I would have needed to be at 130 to get the vape I like but too high for the coil. With my reuleaux and Cleito 120 i was always satisfied with 100w for at least 6 months

I havent used those other attys, but i have a dead rabbit on the way, and will be ordering a wasp nano very soon. I have heard nothing but great things for all these attys. Id love to pic up a csmnt, but can't find them anymore.

I have heard a lot ppl having issues with the 510, i havent had any and have taken off the attys many times. At least its sn easy fix. I would def swith out the bottle. It really sucks. Its so hard to press to get it to squonk decently. You dont get even close to the last of the juice out of it, its jus a major pain in the ass. For something that can be so easily fixed with much better results/performance for 2-5$ its well worth it. Then you can buy multiple spares so cheap n switch up the flavors easier as well.

If its under powered, you could still put it at higher watts than the coil could take. The numbers are only recommended so you don't over heat and burn up the coil. If its under powered, putting it at higher watts isnt going to burn it out since its not getting as much power
