Question about battery voltage and recharging

Hello
I heard its not good letting your batteries drop below a specific voltage so i would like to follow these rules but i got a problem. This week i got a voopoo drag and its not showing any voltage until i hit the fire button. I assume this is normal but how am i suppose to monitor my batteries voltage to see when they need a charge? Im using vtc5's and got a nitecore D2 charger. Thanks in advance!

Welcome @Tom1983 and I hope you enjoy your stay~!

While I do not have personal experience with your particular MOD most will give a low battery message and not fire before the cells will sustain damage.

Ok i wil just use the mod and not worry about it then. I wil check the voltage when i charge my batteries ty :)

Sounds to me like a good SAFE plan! Vape On Safely!

Part of being safe is asking questions when you are unsure so never hesitate to inquire from others it can be helpful.

I don't run my batteries down under 3.5 volts. Yes you can go lower, but that's just as much as I push them. I have 2 sets with over 350 cycles in them, and they preform perfectly. The less you Stress them, the longer they should last.

The voltage displayed on the mod won't matter much, it's showing what's going to the atomizer. Using boost tech it can keep putting out 4v to the atomizer even once the batteries are down to 3.6v. The voltage display isn't a current battery voltage reading. Most regulated mods (if not all) should give the low battery warning once they hit a certain point and depending on the mod it can be anywhere from 3v to 3.4v or so. Usually estimated around 3.2v. 3v or above is still fine, it's not low enough to damage the battery or prevent it from charging back up.

Pulling the batteries to charge them again too soon could shorten the use you get out of your battery. It doesn't matter if you top a battery off from 3.8v to 4.2v (full charge) or if you remove them at 3.2v (assuming the mod drains them that low) and charge back to 4.2v. Lithium batteries can only be charged so many times over their useful life and a full charge or partial top off charge still counts as a charge cycle. If a battery has 300 charge cycles in it and you're consistently throwing it on the charger an hour before it's drained to the low battery cutoff, you're losing an hour of runtime x300. Not saying batteries only have 300 charge cycles in them, just using it as an example.
