Enough about you, let's talk about me...

I smoked for 1o years, just laid them down one day and didn't smoke for about 16 years. I started again about 18 months ago due to stress. About four months ago I got a coupon for a free Mark Ten set up and some free cartridges and thought I'd try it out. I really liked the "not smoking" aspect of vaping. For about a month I used the Mark Tens, refilling the cartos and knew I couldn't go on like that. I wanted more flavor, plus I knew I liked vaping enough that I had no need for cigarettes anymore.

We have a local VaporFi, so I went and bought a Pro3. It was much better than the Mark Tens, but I didn't like it for portability. So, I bought a Vaio Mini and an Air 2 from VaporFi. They are great for portability, but not for flavor. So last month I bought a Joyetech Ego AIO. I like the flavor much better from this than any of the others, but the coils seem to burn up too fast.

So that's where I am now. I run all of them every day, each with different flavors, since I like lemons and menthols and like to keep them separate, obviously.

I'm ready to move up to a big girl device, but not sure I want to be building anything or making coils. My main concern is flavor flavor FLAVOR. Squonking seems like it might be up my alley, but from what little I've read, it looks like I'd be committed to wires and coil making and things I don't understand yet.

I think one of the things I am happiest about since starting vaping is that it has given cloves back to me. I've missed clove cigarettes so much (said the black eyelinered emo teen still inside me).

Glad you quit smoking again -

I went from cigalkes straight into squonking a few years back - when there were much fewer choices and even fewer economical ones, lol

It was a knockoff REO and cloned Chalice III attie and the seller built and wicked it for me - got that coil to last for months. When it finally gave up the ghost, I carefully copied the exact same coil and thus began my building journey

There are also excellent premade coils available to buy so you only have to learn how to wick

Because squonking was so expensive back then, I got a few regular mods and tanks that took replaceable coil cartridges (iStick by eLeaf and Nautilus tank) for backup

The Nautilus tanks are still on the market and an excellent "first-step" up

A lot of shops these days are pimping the Smok brand combos - especially the Baby Beast tank and its first - but the coils the attie takes are expensive and often last only a day or two.

Vapor Fi is not highly regarded in the vape community

I figured that out real fast. The only reason I ended up with them is I wanted to go somewhere and touch something before buying it and the closest places were them and local small shops that only had big scary mods and I thought they would laugh me out of the place for being a n00b.

I'm way over them now and have learned the error of my ways. I'm a quick study like that.

I second this... as my sight is not great for small items I had to just accept the fact that building coils was not something I could keep doing. But I did not want to give up the cost savings from buying coils for tanks (or the rda flavor/vape). I had to give in and just start buying premade coils. Honestly once I started, I never looked back and wondered why I did not try them sooner. I can get coils more advanced than anything I was willing to spend the time making. Plus they are price fair.

If flavor is the concern I personal will always suggest RDA's.

Rather you squonk or just use a mod you have with an RDA its a personal call. Now this may be just me but I go through more juice when use my sqounk mods-but this may be cause its so much easier than dripping. Mix this with the fact I chain vape.

Most RDAs come with a sqounk pin so you could get an RDA use a mod you already have see if you care for it. Then get a cheap unregulated sqounk mod - this should allow you to test the waters without dropping money for a pricey regulated squonker-only to then decide you dont care for it.

As for the RDA, if you want to sqounk with it--the only thing I learned early on that I did not think about (that I wished I knew before)... was to get an RDA with a raised pin inside... IE you want it to squonk/refill from above the juice well.

I have some that dont do this, so all it really does it juice up the wicks then sucks the rest of the juice out of the well... so I have to juice them up more often. This may not be a big deal to you, but for me when using an RDA that squonks by clearing out the well has me squonking way more often than I drip so it just became an irritation point for me (yes it can be avoided by sqounking more but I dont want to be "forced" to if I dont have to).

Very good advice - but not everyone is going to want juice to pool in the deck - on many designs it leads to leaking or even coil-flooding issues

But that is the beauty of vaping - you can tailor it to your personal preference

IME, draining is very important on a squonk attie and I avoid atties that do not drain - it makes for a better flavor experience IMO and you avoid any potential leaking hazards - and a quality bottle makes squonking a non-issue - unless you have a mod that is poorly designed where the bottle/hole is placed for your style

True very true, it was one thing I liked about the peerless. Did not really think about this as most of the time my mods are out and about and not in my pocket (lol if I would put the damn thing down long enough), but if I was running around all day with the thing in my pocket and wanted to sqounk it was my go to as I had no more juicy pockets... why does that sound bad, ill just chalk that up to it being the end of the week :)

One mans Pro is anthers Con :inlove: beauty of knowledge sharing in a positive manner
