Stoned to the bone....that is how I spent my Christmas eve :giggle:

I was busy as a deranged bee for the last week, getting everything ready... but now xmas is done, gifts opened, living room trashed, kitchen trashed, got a new 23" monitor laying here on my bed waiting to be connected, but the kid got a new 32" TV and of course everything else must STOP! till that's hooked up, and OMG you have to buy an HDMI separately, horrors!

So I have my Seego Vhit Reload in hand, getting the same way. :D

Built a fire in my workshop stove for the kats.

Fraidy my old friend is getting old. Around 15 or older.
He is one of the few really good cats I have been around.
He acts half dog.
Went out to check on the fire and he was beside the stove in his chair, very snug and cozy and expressed his thanks.
First cold spell this year when I was out in my shop he was looking at the stove then me and meowing telling me it was time to fire it up again.
He knows that somehow I can make that thing give off nice warmth.

You're a good kitty owner. :)
We're supposed to be in the low 20's tonight with the teens coming along in a day or 2 so I'm making my 2 outside kitties stay in the house. It should be interesting...one of them doesn't like either of the 2 totally indoor kitties.

Yeah, am starting to feel ready, lol

How was your Christmas?
Not bad...We all agreed that since no one had money that we wouldn't buy each other presents but my son has to be a rebel. He got me one of those electric fake fireplace heaters. I bought him a journal to write his thoughts in every day. Mostly we all concentrated on the grandson. This was probably my most laid back Christmas ever. :)

Of course work decided to throw a monkey wrench in my plans. My line is not running this week but the company decided that if you aren't taking vacation time we have to go back to work tomorrow or lose 2 days of holiday pay and earn points. So...it's back to work tomorrow, Thursday and Friday.

Laid back is best - we have done it that way the last few years and its a lot more enjoyable and less stressful

I so agree! My daughter had parties and dinners to go to, my son had to work so I didn't even have to cook unless I wanted to. I cooked a ham on Sunday, threw some stuff together for breakfast yesterday morning and that's it.

Just did my final fire check before bedtime. Fraidy was still beside trhe stove and a couple more heads of others popped up out of some boxes I had set around for them.
Both of my outdoor babies are curled up in chairs. Niether have attempted to head towards the door. My other outdoor cat refuses to come inside. He will tear down the door to get back outside if I bring him in. He curls up with the dog in the doghouse when it's cold. Has for years.

Morning all  Outdoor kitties have hit the outdoors plus the pup has been out. Brrrr....it's COLD out there but not as cold as it's gonna get according to the local weather peeps. They're predicting a high for Monday Jan 1st will be 28 degrees. Holy shit, that's cold for NC. I'm glad that I have no place to be that day.
Off to work later :xD: Have a great day all!!

Hell, xmas has put a real crimp in my ability to keep up with the forum; yesterday we took a couple things back that didn't fit, and the mate went to Harbor Freight to buy a couple things with the gift card I gave him... I tried a bit last night to get caught up, but never got finished; this morning I see only 4 posts in the Alerts... but when I hit "Watched Threads," over 20 threads popped up! GAHHH!!!

The new 23" monitor is awesome, but it sits a little higher than the old one. Had to get the mate to put some "legs" on the wire rack that my laptop sits on, so the screens share the same height at the bottom edge... but I think I also need to raise my chair a bit, got a crick in my neck last night.

Nice to see you back safely... I always worry when friends are travelling long distances, especially by air with all the onion-head hats running amok in the world.

I tried a couple dry **** vaporizers and they was ok for an ego style. I have a Yocan Cerum that can be used on a mod and am waiting on some ceramic coils for it so I can try **** vaping with it.

I started with it on one of my old vv3's of course, when i first got it... but the 10-sec time-out can be a real drawback with that style of vaping.;) So I always use one of my CF4s, which I originally bought expressly for their 15-sec time-out, for just that reason. I don't like to take the CF4-75w-18650s out and about in any case, since they lack a USB for emergency on-the-fly charging. And my CF4s with my name etched on them are the only ones my son won't use. :giggle: So it's nice that my original CF4s all came with ego adapters -- and they are better adapters by far than any that I've bought, which sometimes prevent the mod from reading the resistance or making a good connection. Innokin knows what they're doing!

Though he's pretty happy now with the Revenger he bought, and the Pico I won but find too small for comfortable use -- he LOVES the size of it, for some reason (his hands are bigger than mine, so i don't get it... but if it makes him happy... whatev! I didn't pay for it! :giggle:).

I'd sure love to find a black original CF4, for a decent price, but those things are like hen's teeth anymore.

Makes me think of these 2 stray cats that live under these row of transporting trailers where I work I think about them pretty much every night how they must be so fucking cold sitting/sleeping there in the below freezing temperatures it makes me want to throw them a pretty thick blanket that I'm not going to use anymore under there but I feel like they wouldn't use it... atleast there's two of them under there so they atleast can huddle up to try and keep each other warm I guess, but atleast there's people out there like this one guy I work with who spends his own money to feed them 2x a day when we're at work on our breaks because either someone didn't care enough about them and let them go, they were an outdoor cat and never came home, or they escaped which I hope it was one of the last two even though it makes their lives shittier. I just hate thinking that someone might've been like go on kitty you're on your own because I could never do that, some people suck and are garbage like that.

Here's that new monitor:

tumblr_p1nmx3NKmq1vga2mio1_1280.jpg

It seems a LOT bigger than my old 19" widescreen, and as I had hoped, the color both more closely matches the LED on the laptop, and because both the PC and the monitor are by Acer, they seem to play together nicely, allowing me to calibrate them individually, which I couldn't do with my old Samsung LCD. :) You can see the hues are right in the same ballpark, from the initial calibration I've done, but now that I've done the monitor, I need to finesse the laptop's display just slightly.

There's a little more of a disconnect because of the vastly different sizes, but I dunno if I can do anything about that except get used to it. It doesn't really matter except in the wraparound wallpaper, so no huge deal.

The funniest thing is that the 19" widescreen LCD, a nice Samsung, cost me $289 in 2008. The new 23" LED cost $99, plus 14.99 for a 2 yr extended protection plan, after the initial mfr's year, so around $115 plus tax. That's one of those things that makes you go HMM right there. :D

The Samsung now lives very happily on my husband's desk. :D

Truer words were never spoken. We rescued our cat as a 3 month old starving kitten who turned up on our carport and squeaked piteously until we fed her, and now is a happy 6 yr old who know's she's in charge around here. :D

Oreo, my tuxedo, was found by my nephew in a trash bag at the landfill. He said the bag had been tied up so there's no way she could've escaped. He took her home with him but his wife was allergic to cats. Out of my 6 cats, only 1 of them wasn't found on the side of a road. Only my 2 yellow tabby's refuse to come inside. They sleep with the dog in the dog house.

I did not go after any of my cats.
One I was dumb enough to keep a Grand Daughters cat while they moved...
Well that was 3 years and a couple of moves ago....
The rest are ferals that I could not run off.

Three of mine were my daughter's "finds" that she couldn't keep when she moved. She was intending to take them to the animal shelter but I said hell no. They are overrun with cats and kittens as it is. I'll just keep them.

I'm VIOLENTLY allergic to cats... a daily Zyrtec-generic solves that problem nicely. Though I'm jealous of my guys, who can kiss her and stuff, because I still don't dare put my face on her.

Truthfully I think his wife(now his ex) just didn't want it so that was her excuse. Doesn't matter though, I love my Oreo so I'm glad she was rejected by them.

I bet you're right. People who claim to be allergic to things they just don't like give me a HUGE pain -- like a lot of the folks who claim to be allergic to PG -- if that was really true, they'd have a hard time finding something to EAT! And couldn't walk into a hospital at all. Disliking something doesn't make it an allergy! I dislike idiots but I don't think I could claim to be allergic to them... unless "breaking out in a hissyfit" is a new symptom of allergy. ;)

I do run off Feral cats that cause trouble with the cats that I allow to live here.
Have even resorted to using a paintball gun on a couple of feral tom cats that wanted to move in and take over.

I know what you mean, been plagued with allergies my whole life - but don't use them as an excuse to get out of shit or get privileges and try not to complain when stuff does happen

Yep exactly. It was *easier* to just live without cats, and my husband understood and didn't make an issue of it, though he's a "cat people" from way back. :D But y'know, it's damn hard to refuse your own child something, when they give you those "puss n boots" eyes, especially when there's a simple way of dealing with the problem -- and at the time, I didn't even know about 24-hr antihistamines, I figured I'd be popping a benadryl every 4 hrs... but when I discovered not only Zyrtec, which is expensive, but dollar-store generic zyrtec, which definitely ain't... BINGO! Problem 99% solved. :) I love our kitty baby as much as they do, even if I can't kiss or nuzzle her -- I can pick her up -- when she lets me! -- and live in the same house with her, and that is priceless.

One night we was driving home. We was on the road we lived on at the time and within a mile of the house when the GF started screaming to stop. I locked the brakes up not knowing wtf was going on. Then she was yelling to back up so I did. She yelled for me to stop again and she jumped out of the truck and into the weeds in the ditch and came back with a baby kitten. It couldnt have been more than 4 weeks old and no momma cat or other kittens anywhere around. We took this kitten home with us and that first night I fell asleep with her on my chest on the couch and woke up the next morning with her still on my chest. Asked the GF why she let me sleep on the couch and she told me she didnt want to disturb the kitten. That was 24 years ago and I still have that snot cat and she is still my girl :D

We have successfully dissuaded our kitty from jumping up on either the kitchen table or the kitchen counters... much the same way we raised our son: in stereo. :D When 2 people yell something in unison (such as "get your ass down from there!"), apparently it's quite effective parenting. :giggle: She has pretty much the run of the rest of the house, except my bedroom -- and if she's feeling feisty, she'll still sometimes dart in, only to be yelled at and chased back out. :giggle: But mostly she dislikes being yelled at so much, she doesn't try my room -- and certainly not the kitchen table or counters, because those weren't just yells, they were very loud SCREAMS. :giggle: She really hates that. :D
