Waking up sick...can this be vape related?

I've been vaping on and off for over a year, still smoking a few ciggs a day...and 4-5 mornings throughout this time period, about 30-40 mins after I wake up, I get horribly ill...vomiting, covered in sweat but freezing with a slight headache. The first time or 2 it happened, I didn't even think about it being associated with vaping...but after a few more times...ive just started vaping again and I'm scared that it will happen agaim. When I wake up, I can tell I'm going to be sick, I can't explain the feeling, I just know it's coming. And when it hits, it's so bad that I can't even get to the bathroom to throw up. (I'm a grown woman, throwing up on myself or my bed is NOT a normal thing but when this happens I just can't move and when I have, I've actually blacked out). This always happens in the am, about 30 min after waking...and I'll be sick for an hour, sometimes 2, then, I'm just "hungover" feeling for the rest of the day but not horribly I'll like the first couple hours. When I wake up feeling this way, I don't vape or smoke so it's not something that happens right away like the other posts I've seen. This has only happened during periods of time I'm vaping. When I only smoke it doesnt. But vaping is the only thing that has been successful in quitting smoking. Anyone have any clue? I've researched and researched and not found anything like this with other people. (I'm also on a methadone maintenance program, not sure if this is any way connected but just trying to include as much info about what could be effecting me to get an accurate answer). I've also been to my doc. Nothing can be found there. Anyone? Thanks!!!

First of all, if you feel that bad, see a doctor......

But what " think " is happening is that since you are quitting cigarettes and vaping on and off you are having a combination of too much nicotine and withdrawals and your poor body does not know what to do.

THe nausea and vomiting is classic "too much nicotine" You also mentioned when you only smoke you dont feel that....another classic withdrawal symptom. Everyone that quits goes through it mildly or severely, that is why its hard to quit. THere are all sorts ( hundreds ) of additives in cigarettes to counter the ill feeling that smoking would do to you, from antihistamines to anesthetics.....

Quitting cigarettes can be a devastating thing to go through, its been compared to some of the worst drugs, so realize that.... Your body and mind is trying to KEEP you smoking and its not by accident.

Again, see a doctor. It could be many things, and yes even the liquid... You might be sensitive to PG or VG or a flavor in particular. Just like foods, some people have problems..... You could be vaping a nicotine level that is not necessarily high, but maybe vaping too much at one time...

Let us know what you are using, device, liquid, nic levels.......

SEE A DOCTOR

I just noticed you are also quitting other things, the methadone.... so YES, it could be related....

Pregnant?

Good one VaporCarp, classic pregnancy side effect for women that smoke.... I remember my first time. I was a reg smoker and suddenly BANG, all those symptoms.

Being a woman really sucks..... so many reasons I could mention but the most frustrating is menopause.... there is no pause in it. IT can start 15 years before actually being in it, and it can last for 15 years after , IT SUCKs. Been going through it for over 20 years and people always say that everything that is going on is because of the meno...... Throw in acute depression and everything is all in your mind too.

As mentioned in my original post, i have seen a dr, every time it's happened, and there's nothing he can find to cause it. I even went to the emergency room the last time so I could get other opinions. And, also as mentioned in orig. , since it has happened several times, spaced out, over the course of a year and a half-2 years, unless I'm carrying a toddler in my 125lbs, I doubt I'm pregnant. Lol.

So, on to the next thing. I've tried everything to no nic to start to 24mgs, and the flavors/brands have varied, I don't think that has anything to do with it though I am new, so who knows...
I am currently switching between 2 juiced that are specific to local vape shops, ("the vape loft" melon ball which is 18mgs and "vapor apothecary" dragon fruit that is 12mgs) and another one that's "white rhino" cotton candy that's 24mgs. A couple of faves I use are "Mr E" jade garden and "cuttonwood" unicorn milk. And those I've tried from 2mgs to 16mgs. And still woken up sick after all changes.

The more often I've gotten sick, I've realized it could have a connection to the vape (first time I just thought I was sick, after that, I've started kind of keeping a journal of sorts since it's been a reoccurring thing SOMETHING has to be behind it) so I'm trying to stick with one or 2 juices until I figure it out. So, it will be the melon ball and the dragon fruit.

My vape is not a very pricey one...the tanks are aspire tanks (I have 2, I switch every day due to cleaning and drying time and I clean it nightly) the battery part is "vision spinner II with 4.8 for battery output. Does this make sense? I'm currently cleaning it with alcohol and a brush that came in a cleaning kit, then flushing very well with water. I dry it with paper towels the best I can then leave it to dry the rest of the way in a cool dry place. All of this per instruction from the gentleman that sold the gentleman at the vape store.
(I also spoke to the Dr at my methadone clinic to see if he knew what it could be. His response, as always, "we can raise your dose" NO! That's not the solution to everything and I refuse to be a "lifer" at the methadone clinic.

My point here is, this is nothing that's as obvious as the flavor, withdrawls, or nic levels...unless it's a combo of things. As stated in my org post, I've researched THOROUGHLY before coming here. Spoken to drs, diff vape store employees, ect and have tried everything that's obvious.
So, any info that might not be obvious or with the new info I provided about what I'm using specifically since I've tried all of the things mentioned?

Again, sorry for so much info, but I really need to get this figured out, its so horrible, and I've tried to provide any and all info that might give me any clue...?

I agree, we are so much more high maint than our male counterparts. Lol. If I hear ONE MORE TIME that it's all in my head, I'm going to lose it. Lol. I'm NOT throwing up, passing out and waking up shivering but soaked through with sweat bc it's all in my head! Ugh, men...lol..kidding.

But anyway, thanks for the imput...ive had my tubes tied and as I said, it's been going on for too long for it to be pregnancy. (And I have had a few preggo tests in between for various reasons and no go).

Lol, yes, I actually bought a gentleman from the gentleman at the vape store. Haha. Auto correct is too good to correct sometimes!

See a gastroenterologist.

Another good one gakudzu...... I also suffer from acid reflux/gerd what ever whichever doctor calls it. Its miserable, and of course all psychosomatic, brought on by you guessed it STRESS/ meno/ you name it. With all the throwing up you would think I was skinny, but no.....DAMN at least I could look better.....

To the OP. This also might be something. Your body is under a LOT of stress and having a little one to care for is enough to cause ulcers and gastro problems.

If you do see a doctor, maybe cutting down on the nic, on the new atomizers 24 and 18 could be too high to use as your " all day "
I puff most of the time when stressed and I vape more and constantly , so if you are doing this with the new atomizers you might be over nic-ing yourself.

I have cut down in nic levels with every newer atomizer because they seem to deliver it better/ stronger..... I vape 0 to 3mg now and keep one atty loaded with some stronger one when stressed so it satisfies the nic need.

You might think of having a spare atomizer with 6 or less for main puffs and have the higher nic for those occasional chemical need.

I hope you get it sorted out and if you cant vape, I feel for you, cause it has made a world of difference to myself and many.

We are here to help, and that can be kinda tricky as chemical tolerances are so individual and many of us do not fall in the "norm"

I'm leaning away from "nic-sick", since it hits me immediately when it happens. Never heard of just waking up nic-sick. But it does sound like some reflux/gerd symptoms I've seen. No exp with methadone, so dunno about that aspect. Never been pregnant, either, for the record, lol.

Dont worry, about the "pregnancy experience" I rather pass a kidney stone than have a baby. I rather have any surgery than have a baby, and Ive been under the knife a lot. The closest to the pregnancy pain is hemorrhoid surgery, it was the most painful, experience, post op. That was the closest to the god awful pain of passing an 8lb object from your little "who who"

I just had a tooth extracted with local and a root canal, it was a nap compared to having a baby

Uh - withdrawing causes all those symptoms - been clean over 30 years but I remember it quite well

I highly doubt it is vaping, especially if your doctor at the clinic can't find anything else wrong

Well, I know I'm not preggo as I said, and my kids are 8 and 14 so...

I did have ulcers a few years ago...but that was accompanied by severe pain so I haven't thought of this...and when I saw doctors they didn't seem to think...but like I said, who knows...ill call my gp tomorrow and get a referel. Thanks for that one.

And I agree that it's not nic-sic...ive gotten sick from that but I'll def try a spare tank with a lower nic level for normal use.

Oh I know, opiate withdrawal is the WORST...but I'm not withdrawing. I started methadone a year and a half ago to get off ****** and haven't used in this time. My methadone dose is the same as it was when I first got clean and this has happened and random times throughout. Methadone hasn't changed.

You may want to do some deeper research - a lot of times the body craves more and gives you withdrawal symptoms, which is probably why the doc offered you a higher dose.

It's been nearly 2 years... i cant be withdrawing 1 random day at a time...2 years later?? The clinic dr thinks raising my dose is the solution for everything. I dose 130mgs and I'm 125lbs...thats gotta be enough...

Well, I'm not a doctor but I have been clean for a few decades and vaping since 2013, so what would I know about anything...

Been there, done that, had to listen to listen to idiot docs telling me I was "too young for that" when I started having hot flashes at 38 -- finished menopause at 47, so I guess I wasn't too young, was I, you morons. It's nice when it's finally over... so nice, I only mind a little bit that my parts don't work for marital intimacy anymore.

Appendicitis made labor contractions feel like a day at the beach... on that scale of 1 to 10 they asked me at the hospital... about 25. Thank god I only had one appendix!!!!

A lower nic level *might* help, but the ulcer thing... That's a bacterial infection that causes ulcers, helicobacter pylori; because the bacteria burrow into the stomach lining, I imagine it might be really hard to treat completely. People's perceptions of pain can come and go, but the nausea says, check it out at a gastroenterologist. Or, the GERD thing -- you could have cellular dysplasia inside your esophagus.

I have nothing to add that might be helpful to you but I just wanted to say that I hope you find the cause and get it taken care of and get well. That and I wanted to say I congratulate you on getting clean. I can only imagine how hard it was for you and magnify that by about a gazillion as I have no clue what you are/were going through to get clean. All I can say is that makes you an awesome person to go the distance and find the strength to bring yourself where you are today. I might not know you outside the internet but I'm here cheering you on!

Hi I know it’s been awhile since anyone has posted but any ideas on what it could be? I’ve been searching online for months about this same issue. I’m a 24 year old male that quit smoking 3 years ago and started vaping this year. The first month was fine no signs just mucus and coughing. 3 months in and I’m throwing up every morning and waking up extremely alert but full of pain in my gut. If I stand up and cough I will just gag until something come up. I know for a fact it is the vape because I have tested it to see how I would feel in the morning if I used it the day before or not. I really miss my vape though and I wish I had answers :/

The general answer seems to be... GO TO THE DOCTOR. It sounds a lot like an ulcer; vaping doesn't cause ulcers, bacteria does, but vaping *could* make the symptoms worse.

Why are you asking if a cause was found when you already said you know for a fact it is the vape?

Why don't you let this person ask his question without the smart-assed answers.

I'm not gonna say go to the doctor cos you clearly have but I smoke cigarettes and vape. I get sick and dizzy every morning but have slowly reduced the amount of cigarettes I smoke.
Bottom line is cigarettes and vaping does not mix.

I didn't really have withdrawals from methadone but it's different for different people so dunno if it's that or not
