Need help revitalizing an old traveler...

Hey everyone,

A buddy of mine used to build mechanical mods back in the days of the old pen/lightsaber style mods and gave me one. I was hoping to rebuild it, as some of the parts are rusted/old and I want to style it up a bit.

I’ve looked everywhere online for parts, but everything is so focused on box mods I haven’t found any information. I’m looking for a place to buy the little parts like connectors and battery tubes, but I want to keep it generic. I hate logos. I’d like to keep everything stainless (some of these pieces have gold trim, which I don’t like) and I love the style of those claw looking pieces. I’ll throw a few pics in to help understand what I need.

The photos are categorized as follows:

1-2. The build as he gave it to me.

3. The separate parts, in order as they were removed from the top down.

4. The parts I DON’T need to replace moved to the bottom row.

5. All the parts I need to replace.

I know this is a lot to ask, and I apologize, but any help would be incredibly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

P.S. I don’t even know what any of these parts are called, except for the drip tip and build deck. XD

Before you start trying to get parts for it. I would recommend you give it the best cleaning you can, One thing I use is liquid Bar Keepers friend (Most Groceries and Walmart) Place the parts in a plastic cup and cover them with the liquid let it soak for a few moments and then lightly brush with a old tooth brush. Then rinse each part under warm water. Dry with a soft cloth. This will remove any old oils or rust and any buildup Then you can see if any parts need to be replaced or if can be put back together and used as is. Bar keepers works with stainless steel very nicely and also works great with brass and copper with minimal scratches.

I agree a good cleaning will do wonders, after cleaning I follow up with scotch bright pads and Mothers aluminum and mag wheel polish.
With a little persistence most of the time they clean right up.
Here's one I cleaned yesterday that had been in a drawer for about 2.5 years.
Note the stain on the atty in the before picture.

I second Mothers mag and aluminum polish. I tried the ketchup and vinegar methods and nothing worked like Mothers. A good cleaning will do wonders for your mod.

Here a good example of Mothers in action. I grabbed an old atty out of the box and made
1 pass with a scotch bright pad to knock off the crust, and polished with a little Mothers.
(Took about 3 minuets for this finish)
Before you couldn't read the logo.
