Gentle on the lungs

Two month builder here, and starting to get the hang of things.

I ordered a bunch of claptons, watched videos of people blowing out massive beautiful clouds of smoke. So, I built with them, in my new Vandy Vape BF squonk box which I love, Vandy vape Pulse RDA.

So, I am coughing my lungs out with a dual coil clapton, and last night built a five coil 24 gauge single coil. Still coughing my lungs out.

Then, I realized, the thinner the wire, the greater the resistance, so, the less smoke.

Tonight I built a 28 gauge Kanthal, five wraps, 1.0 ohm, and god it's so much smoother, no coughing. OK, no massive clouds, but decent ones, and much more flavor.

Does this make sense? I am posting this in case anyone else is having a similar issue, greater resistance, less coughing. (No, I am not an ex smoker, I drink lots of water, but I am no spring chicken maybe that has something to do with it....)

Squonking by the way is so much fun, it's so easy, it's like a pure simple way to vape, just like the old days... lol

so, the less smoke.

If your Vape Gear is producing Smoke you are doing something seriously wrong or there is a big problem. You must take into account the amount of heat required to fire those massive builds for one thing and also you did not detail how many Watts or if using TC how many degrees you have the MOD set for. To try and help more information is needed.

I wouldn't really consider a Clapton to be massive.

Depends one who made that Clapton
Well true. I really just assumed he mentioned single core claptons. Like a 26/32 or something.

Never assume and that is why I asked the OP for more information. I also did not say his coils were massive I merely stated it takes more heat to fire massive builds.

The Pulse is a mech squonker, no TC or VW. The OP may not be a native English speaker since he is from Prague Czech Republic.

One, I am an American living in the Czech Republic. When I say smoke, I mean vapor, sorry.... I'm just saying that with higher ohms, in a non adjustable mod like a squonk box, what coil you build with I realized obviously is the biggest factor in what experience you're getting, and for me with weaker lungs, a higher ohm coil rather than a sub ohm (the ones I were using I think were .4 or less) means weaker vapor but more flavor if I am getting this right. I am sure most of you are much more experienced in building but I like to learn by doing.... thanks....

Vandy vape squonk box is a mech mod, the only control is the on button....

are you using an ijoy 20700? im about to get into squonking and doing my research seen that those are happy to give you an 85 amp pulse so if by not understanding ohms law or using a calculator you could be asking it for that or near and not knowing what to do with it... you seem to be on the right track bringin that resistance up tho so all i gots to say is good luck. and steve semantics are only funny as puns or irony man, that was just weak. you also might want more coil mass and surface area, longer ramp up but not such a quick spike if the harsh part happens about a second into the hit, that said im more of the nano coil type for a reason...

No, using Vandy Vape BF box, it just came out, it's mechanical, simple as anything, and even with my GTRS Vboy fancy box, I am squonking more and more because it justs tastes good and is so simple to use. It is 20700, but, nothing fancy, no battery meter, no indication of wattage or anything....

so i got that much bro what i was sayin is that .12 ohm coil could be askin for alot of current but that button will only take 40 amps so... i been playin with mechs since they came out so it honestly bugs hearing that. so far ijoy is the only people ive seen to make the 20700 cell and it pulses up to 85 amps so if someone like you were to ask for that 85 amps thered be little chance of actually utilizing it similar to the 200+ watt boxes, if you were to grab that much power expecting "gentle on the lungs" and hit that shit slow youd have a pleasantly hellfire hot choking to death experience.

i personally liked 24 guage nanos the best from my experience for the simple fact that they heat up fast and cool off good. i found a certain vapor density easier on the lungs than lower or higher so coils with more mass or higher resistance would start off wispy or hot either way very harsh compared to the cool vape they give when warmed up, temperature is all related to airflow, the faster you hit it the cooler, but also the less dense. oh and unless there would be confusion about who you talkin to quoting is really not necessary. im sorry for sounding condescending, i hate it when people look down at me, but its like jackie chan said in the forbidden kingdom "your cup is full". you asked for suggestions
