Tongue burns after vaping

I recently started vaping, and after everytime I try to start my tongue burns for 2 to 3 weeks. I have used every juice mixture except for 100% VG. I read that some people can have bad reactions to VG, but I am not sure if burning tongue is one of them. If someone could help me figure this out I would be really greatful.

Do not know if you share the same issue as me but I have serious mouth, throat and lung irritation from most commercial ejuice.
I DIY and find flavorings that do not cause the issue for me.
Not sure of the causing agent in the juice but maybe artificial sweeteners?
I use Liquid NuStevia for a sweetener.

When I first started I found 1 juice I could vape. A tobacco store/gas station grade of juice which was Clayton Tobacco flavor.
It kept me off of cigs until I got going with DIY.
Otherwise I would have been back smoking.

Vaping does not work for everyone. Or at least some of us have to work much harder to make it work for us.

If you are not a smoker working off of smoking then why bother if it causes you problems?

I am a smoker. I just didn’t mention it in my original post.

Smoking while trying to quit did not work for me and I had to go cold turkey before vaping did not irritate my throat. I never had any mouth or tongue issues and wish I had more to add then you must stop smoking and wait a minimum of two weeks before you body gets rid of all the chemicals added to tobacco in the cigarettes. Good Luck and Welcome to the VU @randalljkingjr

Our of curiosity, is your tank spitting? Are you getting juice in your mouth? Cause I’ve heard that can cause irritation on your tongue. Other than that can’t really help. I never had any burning sensations when I stated many years ago. I did have a minor reaction to PG, which is common, then my body adapted.

It could be PG causing it... or the nicotine... or any ingredient in the ejuice. The only way to know for sure is, vape some pure 100% VG, without any flavoring or nicotine... see if it burns. If not, add some nicotine, see if it burns.. If it does, then try less nicotine. If it doesn't, then try a DIY ejuice with just one flavor. If you find that it doesn't burn, then try another single-flavor.

It's sort of like eliminating foods to ascertain what you're allergic to. Or, to look at it another way... if you're coding something, and hit a problem... if you change more than one thing at a time, you won't know which was actually the problem. You have to change only one thing at a time, until you find whatever the problem is.

And yes, as a means of quitting smoking, it's entirely worth it.

I have questions about your question.

What mod are you using?

What tank are you using?

What wattage are you vaping at?

What is the nic and PG/VG mix are you using

Do you wear Boxers or Briefs?

The last question is from AndiraD

Not really........

Ps, sorry Andria. Nothing personal, just being a smartass :D

one thing we might be forgetting.
a. it could be a cheapy njoy style, small hole super hot temp kind of directed in a small area.
b. bad coil with above also instead of vaping it could be roasting the wick material and sending scorching hot air and or juice out said pin hole.
c. troll
