Lost Vape Triade dead after only 2 days.....

Got a Lost Vape Triade from Elementvape. Worked great 2 days, then died!!!!

Elementvape wont take it back, found out if you have a problem with a lost vape
mod, you need to deal directly with Lost Vape...

Maybe I can fix it myself and not have to send it back...

Could just be a solder joint came loose..
I know I didn't blow the board fuse.. you practicly need to short it out to do that.

I had it in VW on 50w.. went to vape on it, nothing... dead....

Never dealt with Lost Vape service but I would definitely send it to them instead of trying to fix it myself to keep from voiding the warranty. I had a Triad and it was a good mod. I am sure they will fix it or replace it.

It's not just Elementvape, none of the retailer's will handle problems with Lost Vape... any warranty issue needs to be
resolved from them.. Element did give me the lost vape customer service, so I sent them email with my address and
a copy of the receipt.
I got back an auto reply asking me to provide my address and copy of receipt.... LOL
I went to their Facebook page and they posted the same auto responce after I had already sent the info they requested.
So today, they tell me to file a service ticket with Evolv, and gave me the link.
I havent filed it yet though...

That would be the ideal situation indeed.. they dont make it easy though.. they pushed me off on Evolv, so lets
see what they say.... LOL.
These are pretty simple devices, so if it's just a bad solder joint in the battery tray, I can fix that myself.
If it's the board (and it's not a blown fuse, you need to cause a short for that) then I will need Evolv to fix it.
Or I can just put in a new one myself.....

I wonder if that goes for DOA Lost Vape products also, But more importantly you need it taken care of in a timely manner.

If the DOA is shipping related, and you can prove it, the vendor will take it back if u file with the carrier.
Otherwise no, it's a warranty issue that needs to be addressed by Lost Vape...
I am told they have a "drop off" in the US.

Same happened with my Alewander Orbit. Got it in the morning and all of a sudden it just went to 80w and would niot let me adjust it at all. Just froze. Tried new batteries. Tried a new arty. Still 80 watts. So I sat it down for two hours and tried once more and voila it works again. Have no idea why.

It makes no sense that vendors can not take the mod back and deal with lost vape. Is that a matter of lost vape policy? That would make no sense. I've heard mixed things about evolv's customer service lately but it seems to favor the good.

FWIW, Volcano has replaced my lava box DNA 75 twice in the last few weeks because of issues with the board. This last time they just sent out a new one before I sent the old one back.

Hope evolv gives you no dramas.

Ok, I followed the instructions and link from Lost Vape in China and filed a service ticket with Evolv.
Within about an hour, I got their response and a RMA number to send it to them (in Ohio).
They didn't ask for pics, videos, whatever.. but I did put the number under the bar code on the form
as well as a copy of my receipt.. So I am sending it out today.

The difference between Lost Vape in China, and Evolv in the US customer service is like night and day.

Yes, it's not the fault of the retailer, it's Lost Vape policy... I am also wondering about HCigar, since it also
has DNA PCB??!!
So far, Evolv has responded really fast, and didn't demand a bunch of proof, like video's and pics..
So I have my MOD all boxed up to send back....

When you get it back please share what the issue was for education purpose.

They sent me email shipping notice and I should get it today.
Yeah, I want to know what was wrong and how they fixed it, but suspect I will have to
ask, unless it's written on a ticket inside the box.
The place that handles the warranty repairs is a small electronics place in Ohio.

I just thought I'd throw this out there ...Evolv is headquartered in Ohio and have good customer service. Not to say shit don't happen from time to time.

I will do that... if I am only able to use it in VW, I wasted $130.00... My Wismec GEN3 does VW just fine, at only $50.....
Also, I'm afraid to take the batteries out for fear the no contact issue will appear.
I subscribed to the Evolv forum and see a lot of complaints and dead devises.. it's mostly the DNA250... the DNA 60
and 75C seem to be more robust..
I wish I knew all this shit BEFORE I bought one.. so i need to do my homework better....

Yes, they were very fast to respond. However, the MOD still doesnt work as it should, so I question how well they
actually tested it before sending it back.

Well, I've only had one of my DNAs go south, and it was sent and received again by me within a week.
Mine was fixed, but it was the board. If you had any problem that was not the baord, and some other issue that was not on the RMA, it would likely get overlooked. When a device comes in, they don't take time to troubleshoot/test the entire mod. Evolv makes the board and that is what they do, test and replace the board. Usually within 30 minutes of it hitting the repair bench.

My way of saying if the problem is with any other component, Evolv isn't likely to identify and correct it. And really, with their boards in SO many devices of SO many build levels, they shouldn't.

It sucks if you are the one that gets the 'lucky' ticket in the QC lottery, but it happens. I'd be in touch with whoever made the mod or whoever sold it to me.

Yeah, thats what i figured.. it's their board, so if that's not the problem, tough shit!!!! LOL

I do have it working now, i put it in stealth mode and didnt know how to get it out... lol
I needed to carefully read the instructions to learn the menu navigation, and so far, no
problems (knock on wood... lol)

Navigating the menu system on this guy is not very fun... way different from my other 3 button mods...
Otherwise, it's working fine, and the board is responding to changes and set-ups from Escribe.
I have had batteries in and out, and havent repeated the 'shorted' error...

Still, I am going to email them to ask what was wrong with it.....

P.S. the name of the company that does the warranty stuff for Lost Vape in the US
is Dimension Engineering LLC in Ohio. Even though when I sent the unit back, the
address was Evolv... LOL

I got their reply:

"They fixed the battery connection. A broken wire."

So they dont just fix board issues.

Looks like I should have just fixed it myself after all... LOL

Yep, that's Evolv.
So, they are the warranty service for Lost Vape? That would explain the wiring fix then.
No matter, glad to hear its working.

That is a local B&M shop.(and a good one, obviously). Online retailers might have different rules to follow. If I owned a shop my policy would be to exchange the mod as well.
coval is a online vendor.

Yes, u need to be careful buying a MOD online. Most will require some proof of a fault or defect, like pics or
a video, before they will accept exchanging it. Then, some manufacturers (like Lost Vape) likes to handle their
own warranty issues. So, ask the policy on the unit you want to buy in advance.
There are on-line retailers who will not accept any returns at all....
