Put it back to power mode and vape it. What is your watt level? That is a good pointer for your tc values.
when watching Ben video from hohm tech it seems that the power setting is only for ramp up...as the time goes the wattage will oscillating to maintain temp...thats why i max out the power so i can feel the cutting in power

Lightning vapes sells good clapton wire. I use this but its out of stock.

I would use 45 for watts and set temp at 420. Put fsk at 4.0 and try it. If you get ZERO for your watts value, instead of it throttling to hold temp, turn the fsk up. Keep doing this until it vapes properly. I have had to use an fsk at double digits with some kanthal wire. Make sure you are in xxx mode and make sure AUTO AND 75C MODE is disabled.

Adjust temp once it is vaping right. You can tweak watts too, up or down, but it will throttle up and to hold the temp.

yeah i tried changing temp and FSK value but the problem is still there, when firing it is only wattage that rising to my set point but the temp no change at all so like i said the mod works like in power mod, not TC mod.

i max the watt beside for quick ramp but also so i can see if the TC mod works, when it works the power will cut off (getting lower wattage) to maintain the temp like it did when im using nickel coil in the same set up mod and atty

i always build new coil and not a pre-build
Like @joeyboy already said in temp mode when looking at the display and hitting the fire button the temp does not move. If you have it set at 430f it will read 430 when you press the button. You will see the power fluctuate though, when it reaches temp the power lowers and will eventually go to 0 if you are not taking a puff if your settings are correct.

I know a lot of mods show the temp fluctuating when hitting the fire button. It does not work that way with the FSK chip but you are still regulating power to control temp, just like every other mod.

Also, when you make your coil for the pharoah rta have both leads on the bottom so your coil is sitting on top. This way when you install it you can push it down closer to the air hole and one lead won't unwind.

If it never leaves zero, meaning the watts do not fluctuate, it's an fsk adjustment issue. Sorry to hammer that in.

Sorry, I am just not understanding what is going on then. He said:

"when firing it is only wattage that rising to my set point but the temp no change at all so like i said the mod works like in power mod, not TC mod"

So his watts are rising or not rising? In that sentence above he is saying his wattage is rising so I am confused.

@Elbuchou , just play with your FSK until you get the vape you want, even if it is all the way down. There is no exact right way, it is all about preference but the FSK percentage is the key.

sorry if my sentence so confusing...english not my primary language....:(

lets see if i can clear something up....

so i set my watt to 45 and my temp to 450 F....just like @joeyboy and @mjag said, it works perfectly if u set the fsk correcty (thnks to u guys), but the problem is...when i set my watt to 101 (max)...then the mod keep rising the wattage to my set point (the 101 W) until the atty so hot and i didnt experience this problem when using TC in nickel (not xxx mode)...in nickel mode if i set the wattage to 101W i just get instant ramp up and then the mod cut its power to maintan the temp...

thats what i mean in sentence the temp no change at all...it didnt lower the power when reach the temp set point (sorry if too confusing)

is it normal if the mod works like that in khantal or nichrom mode in TC because i expecting it work like in TC nickel mod (i never try in ss or ti mode)?

I have had that happen before too with some premade coils but can't recall what they were made of, I think it might have been a kanthal core with Nichrome wrap. If I remember correctly I had to set my FSK to something like 0.3% and even then I had to control my watts. It is not common for it to happen but it can happen.

Just looked in my build kit and I think they were the fused claptons from geekvape that has a kanthal core with N80 wrap. To be honest I don't think they are very good coils, had them for 8 months and have only used 3.

Don't feel bad for the confusion with english not being your primary language, english is my first language and even I get confused with myself ;)

My EXO RTA will not TC on any mod, the base on them is just a little too poorly made (press fit) for a rock solid TC connection.

So this mod still not working in khantal TC mode

I already build my pharaoh and exo with pure khantal 22 awg spaced wraps, i got around 0.41 ohm...i set my mod at 42 w 420 F and temp curve at 1.4% i can vape it with good flavor & vapor but it doesnt feel controling the temperature like the way it should, i dunno maybe my tc khantal mode defect or something......i think im done with the experiment for now and waiting for the hohmtech guys to update the firmware...its been a year since the last update for slice...i hope they still doing the firmware for slice

Did you see the post above yours about the EXO? I had a press fit that didn't TC well also, had to sand the base and deck where they meet to get a better connection but still not rock solid.

Have you tried with a dripper to eliminate the possibility that it may just be your tanks?
You need a really solid connection for it to control kanthal well, probably the same for Ni80 (haven't used it in years) so if the tanks you are using have a less than perfect connection, it may TC Nickel well, that's easy with Nickel but kanthal is a whole other ball game.

Eliminate the mod being the issue with a dripper, if that controls temp well you know your tanks are less than perfect. Get some SS316L wire for those tanks.

I dont have rda...but when im using pharaoh rta...it perform exactly like exo.....

I just build ss316l in my exo and it works smooth in TC....i set my watttage to 101w and i get instant ramp up and the mod oscillating the temp...

maybe the exo and pharaoh cant do tc in khantal and nichrome perfectly or maybe my build not good enough...there's so many variables that can go south

Oh yeah one thing i forgot to mention...i use juggernaut ss316l from geekvape...and it didnt work in tc ss mode...but it works in xxx mode...i think the culprit is the impurities of wire...but im glad it works in xxx mode so thats mean xxx mode can tc some fancy coils

You don't need to use 101 watt. Forget that. I think you are getting lost in the weeds. It's working or it's not. By using 101 watts you are assuming everything is perfect. You can set watts to 50 with the coils you are using and get the same vape.
I think you need to read this thread and the g2 thread to learn more about the fsk board.

I hate to tell you but my pharaohs, three currently, all tc kanthal. I tc 22k 7 wrap and 24k/34k Clapton from lightning vapes no issues. It's your wire. Get kidney puncher or something better than you have.

@joeyboy...its not about the 101 wattage....

Im just thinking that khantal tc mode should works exactly like tc mode in nickel and ss316l (that i already confirms it works smoothly on my slice)

And the xxx mode that im using when build juggernaut ss316l...it also works and thats mean there no problems with my slice

Yeah i agree maybe i need a better wire than i had now or like i said earlier maybe my build sucks as i just vaping for almost 2 month now :D

Controling Kanthal is not the same as controlling any of the other TC specific wires using their presets. Trying to get the Kanthal preset working can be a real dice roll sometimes, it's not plug and play like Ni, Ti or SS. It can depend on the tank, build, wire and the time of day or the way you hold your tongue when you reset the baseline resistance. ;)

Do you have any experience with other TC mods such as DNA or YiHi?

I realize this the Slice thread but I just wanted to say, the only atty I own out of 3 tanks and 2 rdas that I can get tc to work correctly on my G2 is my Reload rta clone. I've got a pair of Raymo2u's aliens in it and my preferred vape is 100 watts, 470 degrees, and fsk set at 6.8%. I need the watts to ramp the coils, and if I turn the temp down and the fsk up to get a good vape, every draw is hotter than the one before. My perfect temp setting is 470 degrees. This actually the first time I've been able to get a decent vape in tc since I bought my G2. I was beginning to worry I had a bad one but didn't say anything because I wasn't sure the problem wasn't either cheap tanks, bad coils, or user error - or a combination of the three.

Once I got a decent tank with known good coils, I could rule out those 2 and concentrate on the settings. I am now a totally committed tc vaper, and hope I never again have to use a mod that won't do good tc.

Thank you for indulging me. I'm back out now!

Ok then im so relief thats nothing wrong with my slice...im worried because in my country it is so hard to get this mod...and i dont want to buy from overseas as it took decades :(

I just got lucky when im looking liquid from local website i see they selling slice mod...and without thinking twice i took it :D

No im not interested in buying dna or yihi chips...i already made up my mind im just gonna stick with hohmtech as the traditional tc mod (ni, ti or ss) using this device is much more easier to use (didnt have to lock the resistance)

That might be it right there. I know everyone says you shouldn't lock resistance because its less efficient. I'm not sold on that. And if it is, whatever, better performance to me and I didn't notice any difference in run time.

I do know that running in kanthal TC it was like a run away train without locking resistance in. Felt like it was just in power mode to me, only way to control temp was to adjust watts and that's not TC.

SS is also better controlled to me with resistance locked.

Resistance takes a couple seconds to lock. Room temperature coil, hit fire button to reset mod, screw attomizer on, hold the mode button and minus button at the same time. Locked.

So the next question is how many are u guys do the lock resistance thing in khantal TC mode?

Coz in manual it say not safe if locking the resistance that's the sole reason i never do that

And for the time being i take how the slice works right now...not perfect but the khantal tc works n prevent dry hit for me

TC with the FSK chip is great when you have coils made from good wire that has the same core wires and wrap wire. If I build Aliens or fused claptons in all stainless or all nichrome they work great in TC, if I build Aliens or Fused with Kanthal cores and a SS or nichrome wrap the FSK doesnt TC them for shit but they work great in power mode. Kanthal claptons with a Kanthal wrap will also TC pretty good. Also all 5 of my wreckers TC conciderably different than each other

My manual doesn't say anything about unsafe. It says locking is not advised as it disables integrated battery saving systems. (I am perfectly fine with my battery life getting through a work day running my usual single coil 0.4-0.5 clapton and charging for a hand full of minutes at my desk if at all)

Temp displayed on screen may be inaccurate. (I haven't once looked at the screen out of the corner of my eye while taking a hit. Maybe I can ask a friend and use a temp gun to check accuracy)

If you still have a kanthal build in one of your tanks, lock resistance and give it a try. See if it improves TC.

Also, for kanthal TC, a spaced coil is a must IMO.
SS, it doesn't matter spaced or contact... FSK is like honey badger, it don't give a shit.

I haven't but I can't see why any of them wouldn't work out. It won't be longer than the a xx650 cell and it won't be fatter than a 26650.

I seem to remember coming across some discussion somewhere that some fit better than others, but I'm just too lazy to search through the thread and am hoping someone with first hand experience can make it easy for me. :p

I just scored two more of these great little mods over at Vaporcube with code "SLICEDSLICE" for just under 20us ea. What a deal. Code for LE version is "SLICELIMITED" going for 24us ea. Just a heads up if you weren't already aware of this current deal.
http://www.vaporcube.com/hohm-slice-101w-temperature-control-box-mod.html

I snagged up another Wrecker V2 for around $45ish shipped.
I remember when double these prices was a steal.
I lucked out because they only had 2 colors left and i don't have a silver one yet.
Mine shipped out on Monday.

Yeah that's a great deal on the V2. I personally don't like the form factor of a huge box, but love the Fsk boards on these hohmtech devices.

Thanks for this. Seems they only allow a certain number sold per day though, and I'm too late. :(

I just got the deal to load (maybe it's a color choice thing), although the cheapest shipping takes that total up to $28.32.

Still a great price if you were actually in the market for one, but not quite the blowout "throw one in your closet as a just in case backup" deal that would of left me pulling the trigger.

Plus now that I've gotten back away from the 26650 batteries since my first Slice broke...I don't think I'd want to go back to using/relying on them again. They just kinda suck. Was hoping HT would of gotten around to making a small 2 battery box by now.

Well, they wouldn't take my Discover card, but the transaction went through using Paypal, so success!!(???)

Shiny new orange and silver G2s to add to my blue, two $20 Slices, and a couple packs of Skillet coils at the now much more reasonable price of $7. Good deal! Seems like this is the beginning of the end for the HT products, sad days.

Yikes dude, that's burly. :D

I'm starting to warm up to the quasi-industrial apocalypse flaked look tho. Actually gets more love from the peeps than stuff I've refinished. It's simple enough to move everything out of the way and take it down to the zinc with some quadØ steel wool (or 3M artificial 4Ø).

Good luck. :)
