Looking to buy an RTA. Need suggestions

I've been using the griffin 25 mini and the Merlin mini. So in vape years, I'm a little behind the RTA scene. What RTAs do you like?

I'd like a little more air flow than what I have but not as much as say, a goon rda.

If you have either the griffin or Merlin and can compare it to your recommendations, that'd be awesome.

Looking for a dual coil, DL and nothing gigantic. Preferably around 25mm, With room for decent sized builds. One with a nice drip tip. The griffin tip gets pretty hot. The Merlin tip is perfect.

There are alot of options, my favourite is the Kaylin rta. I love the kayfun too but I don't MTL anymore.
I use the Kaylin with & a build of about 0.25 at 40 watts. Tank cam handle much more watts an lower ohms if that's your thing but I vape for flavour.
I also use big baby with RBA an sometimes the spiral tank but the spiral is only a single coil.
I always go back to big baby though :) never failed me an has a large wattage range. It comes installed with claptons.
Them I get my friend to do me a build cos of my nerves. For some reason I like the big baby with RBA more than any RTA or RDA I've tried.
I use to love the goon but your right it is super airy.
Your gonna get different suggestions off different people though!

Thanks Skold, I'll look into the Kaylin. I normally build coils around .2 ohms and vape at 80 watts or 570°F with 316SS. You're right about getting different answers and is to be expected. I guess I was hoping to find someone who could compare my tanks with their current favorite.

My favourite for flavour is definitely the goon but I prefer the original with double deck rather than the most recent edition.

I've tried the Griffin & Merlin btw & I think the Serpent Mini is definitely a good contender. Hard to beat. Also worth checking out the Wasp Nano.
I mostly use single coils now though but some RTA'S now have options for both single an double.
I need to catch up myself though! I stick to what works.

Just don't get something cos of hype. I did that with the Aspire cleito & it's got so many issues. Leaks, goes into vapor lack.
The flavour is not as good as people say either. Definitely better pre made coil tanks!!

i dont try may new things
i use 3 gffriffin 22ms and a 25mm mini all day as well as 2 limitless plus
if you want the same flavor from the grifin mini but more airflow check out a limitless plus
theres all kinds of new versions of this rdta but you can pick the plus up cheap for $15ish most places to give that a shot if you like it then explore all the new versions with interchangable decks and so forth

I'm really looking for an rta. I had a limitless a year ago and gave it away. I couldn't get it to stop spitting

Man, I am so far behind the curve on RTAs, lol

Last new one I built was the Petri 22, but they have a 24 out now

Love my 22 though

But this did remind me I have a Troll RTA and the Merlin RDTA that have never been built...

I got it when I was in the middle of an RA flare up so bad my fingers were like water logged hotdogs and I couldn't build two coils to match to save my life - need to dig it out and give it another shot

I generally love Augvape atties

The last thing that piqued my interest was the wake rta.
It's alot like the old dotmod RTA, made by the same people but only 40$
I have a dotmod and it performs excellently. The wake rta is a touch easier to build on though.

Was seriously looking at the Wake, but also the Petri 24

I haven't had time to do much research myself and I'm not in a hurry to get one so keep the suggestions coming!

I have the Griffin 25 mini too, I just got a ijoy captain rta recently and I have been totally satisfied with it. It has a dual coil postless deck that I believe has interchangeable decks with the pharaoh RTA. But IMHO another great contender is the TFV8 with the RBA head installed. I have probably a dozen different RTAs, I have a pretty wide range, I have a cleito with the RBA all the way up to the aromamizer plus with the 20ml tank. They all have their place for me but I ALWAYS have my TFV8 in my main rotation and the tank is built to last. I have had mine since they first came out and it still holds up well and works great.

Oh actually... check out the obs engine nano in dual coil configuration.
They released one with dual coil an one with single.
It's really cheap too :)
Just received the obs engine nano today for the wife. Not easily impressed but this tank did it. The quality is top notch, threading is butter smooth, holds like 5ml, one of the easiest attys I've ever built on, doesn't leak due to top airflow, great flavor, doesn't get hot (cools itself the way the airflow runs, shit I could go on. Around 20$ from fasttech, well worth the money. Picked up the full size dual coil for myself, looking forward to it.

I am a Nano junkie. I also have dual Engine, and it is good, but Nano is superior in terms of flavor. The way they designed af in Nano is lovely and effective.

I prefer small tanks anyway. I change flavors a lot. I think they look better on a mod too

LMAO Nano is a 5ml tank 25mm just like dual. Why they called it "nano" is beyond me. Almost missed out because I don't like small tanks. :D

Serpent SMM is a great looking smaller tank. 3.5ml 25mm low profile. Easy build and wick single coil flavor rta. Almost impossible to make it leak. I didn't mention these earlier because you were wanting dual coil.

Nothing small about the Engine's. Their fill port makes them tall. They are not pretty tanks and I couldn't love them more! :)

For those of you with the obs engine, what watts do you vape at? I’m wondering if the wicking can keep up around 80-100 watts.

Been awhile since I've used my dual, pretty sure I stayed around 55-70w depending on coils. I'm sure if you built for higher watts you'd be okay, probably be changing wicks pretty often tho. Nano flavor is better, but dual does okay.

I might give it try then. I need to find a vendor close to me for fast shipping

Nano is single coil and has better af than dual IMO. I have three Nanos going (yes I am a Nano junkie), haven't used dual in quite awhile. I get enough lung hit from single to satisfy me.

Right now I have a couple SS317L fused claptons in the dual coil engine, .13 ohm build on a parallel mech which comes out to around 105-130 watts, no dry hits whatsoever, been chain vaping this setup the last week taking 2-3 second pulls often :)

I'm not a fan of the original Cleito tank. I haven't tried the big one but I have the Exo. It doesn't get as hot and has a top airflow design. The Exo with the regular Cleito .4 SS coils is awesome for flavor. That combo of tank/coil is easily my favorite sub tank. I ditched the Exo coils immediately. They are too wide and run at higher wattage.

I have to say, I have been using a Big Baby for the last 6 months or so. Since then I have bought many different things, but I always go back to my Big Baby. One of the tanks I bought was a Griffin, but flavor wise it just wasn't up to par with my Big Baby. This has really been the problem with all the tanks I have gotten. The air flow is nice, as well, IMHO. Wide open it gives plenty of flow, but still packs in the flavor. And out of all my times wicking, it has only leaked once and it was because I wasn't paying attention when I did it.
