Sub threads in the recipe section

Would it be possible to have sub threads in the recipe forum?

Say one for 100% FA concentrates, one for 100% TFA concentrates etc and perhaps one for mixed?

I know with all the different concentrate manufacturers, this could get a little busy but perhaps stick to the main few?

Personally I'm determined to stick to FA concentrates but sifting through all the recipes is a major Pita and alot easier in other sites, however, other sites don't seem to have the same community that this one does.

Maybe I'm just being lazy but it would be immensely helpful and save an incredible amount of time.

Cheers

The majority of DIY'ers I know use multiple brands in their recipes. Are there really that many that use only a single brand flavoring?

I guess that's a no then? Lol

In my experience people tend to favour one brand, for example they tend to stick to one brand of analogues, some people will only buy one brand of electronics, some people will only buy from one car manufacturer, or only wear one brand of gym wear.
I know DIYers that will only stick to Cap unless they require something specific, plenty stick with FA and only use say TFA when they need the Graham crust or perhaps brown sugar.

That being said, perhaps you're looking at it wrong,; it's not about individuals using only one certain brand, it's recipes using only one brand and theirs tons and tons of those but they're incredibly difficult to find.

It was just an observation from being new on this site and spending ages sifting through the recipe section. It'd certainly make my life easier and I can't be the only one!? :)

Perhaps you should ask them for their recipes, then.

Your best bet would be to do a search in the recipe section where 'HIC" in is the title. HIC is about the only one I know of that tries to stay with one particular flavor manufacturer. There are other recipes that fall in that category of course but those are not nearly as numerous.

That said, if you can't find some recipes you like from HIC's collection then there may be no hope for you, lol. :D

ETA: Another good choice to search on would be 'Wllmc'. He has a lot of FA only recipes too, not exclusively but a good portion nonetheless.

Now that's a great idea, I'll just sift through all the 100s and 100s of recipes on this site to find the people that sometimes make one brand recipes. If only the recipe section was a little compartmentalised to make the job easier... Now there's an idea ;)

Lol, it was just a thought. One that would help new DIYers, help retain DIYers and maybe even bring new DIYers onboard.

But... Its OK... I'll get over the fact theirs no love for this idea.

Thanks for the warm welcome and have a great day :D

Perfect, thanks for your help. HIC is the main reason I subbed to this forum so to be able to find his recipes easily is a great help.

Thanks

It's so hard to stick to one brand because they're all so different and you may not be able to find the flavor profile you're looking for.

I've had a few flavors I had to buy many different brands to find the one I wanted. Especially if you're trying to clone a juice you've had before. If you're not very picky, it will definitely make it easier to stick to one manufacturer.

I think having threads dedicated to certain manufacturers would help new DIYers but I don't think many stay that way for long. They get hooked and fall down the rabbit hole, ordering flavors, after flavors, after flavors.

I seem to fall down rabbit hole after rabbit hole, first it was mods, then tanks, then sub-ohming, then rdtas and I guess I'm on the brink of falling down the DIY one too.

After spending so much hard-earned, those rabbits have a lot to answer for! :)

This exactly! I tried sticking to one brand when I first started, but I did end up having to buy several brands' versions of quite a few flavors, to find something I liked.

I first learned mixing over in ECF's TFA thread -- but even amongst those who tried to stick to TFA, there were always exceptions -- I personally prefer TFA and Inawera for pretty much all my recipes, but Capella's Sweet Cream is so perfect, I see no reason to try any other -- it tastes like fresh cream, and has no diketones -- perfection. And Molinberry Glamour Chocolate is the only chocolate flavor I can actually taste.

If VU did have those subforums dedicated to one brand... would those in that thread get irate when someone posted a recipe that contained flavors from other brands? There was a little of that at ECF, but many of those people have a stick so far up their ass, it's probably to be expected OVER THERE.

Yeah you guys are probably right, I've literally just started out DIYing and after browsing several stores, none of them having a complete range of anything, all seem to be missing a few I want, for that reason and shipping costs I found it easier to buy from FA UK directly.

I have found though that they are missing a couple I really want to add to a few mixes, a Cheesecake base for example, I don't think cookie or nona's cake is really what I'm looking for.

Appreciate your input.

It's not my place to say Yes or No... I was simply inquiring if it was even that much in demand. Sorry to say from the responses I've seen here, it doesn't seem to be needed.

Our DIY section is extremely popular in the vape community, you are the first person I've seen request this in the entire time the forum has been in operation. Looks like the folks gave you some good suggestions. I hope you take a few of those into account and stick around to enjoy it! :)

BTW, you are certainly welcome to create Threads for the specific flavorings and then just bookmark them to come back to later. ;)

On that note, those are hiding around here, somewhere. There's a Capella/Inawera thread, a FW, and TFA threads, then of course, the FA Club thread. They've just gotten lost in the shuffle over the years. There are others, as well. Real Flavors and the other names escape me.

I was going to the mention that - there are also Inawerna and FlA threads, even one for more obscure stuff like RF

That in itself doesn't make it a bad idea, humans were around for quite awhile before someone thought of the wheel, even longer before someone had the idea of electricity and longer still before someone thought 'fuck smoking, let's vape!'
Bad analogies perhaps but the point is valid.

Some forums seem to view 'This is what I have (insert concentrates), what can I make?" threads quite badly. Are they allowed here?
This forum seems relatively relaxed which is definitely a good thing!

Thanks again :)

Certainly allowed; I've seen quite a few threads like that, participated in one or two which contained flavors I have/know. I think there's a recipe site that does a similar thing, though I don't know the URL, I'm sure someone will come up with it. :)

E-liquid-recipes.com has a great search function, you can literally search for all the recipes you can make using your own flavour stash, however that function has been down for a couple of weeks now and it lacks the community that seems to be here.
