Smok Magneto 2's

I got my first unregulated mech mods. They were in a clearance bin, five bucks per mod. I plan on going over all the points to safely use these. I'm new to this type and wanted to ask a few questions.

  • Are these a decent device to start on?
  • Do you have these or have you used them?
  • What kind of battery would you put in these if you had em?
  • Should I throw them away and get something else lol?
  • Can you point me to some decent 22mm RDA's that would work well on these?
I haven't really gotten into rda's in my time vaping. I use Griffins and an Avacado on regulated mods. So I can build decent coils. Any help/info is much appreciated.

those are pretty cool. I still have and just found my original magneto the other day :) they are fun and to me feel more like old school vaping. my favorite part is the magnetic fire button, its just much smoother than a spring. if you are using a regulated box mod you will feel like you are going backward in time but again fun to have.

The original Magnetos were pretty solid and had only a small voltage drop so yeah, I'd say you got a good deal. I certainly wouldn't toss them. You are right to do a little research first before using them however, since, as I'm sure you already know, mechs have no built in safety components. I would advise following Moochs battery recommendations and obviously, keeping your builds within those batteries safety limits.

There are so many RDA's out now that would work fine with your mech that I'm hard pressed to narrow it down to just a couple. If you have a deck preference, that might be a good place to start narrowing down your options.

Congrats on your first mechs!

Some 22 mm rdas I have are the pulse 22, twisted messes and the petri. Pulse 22 is my favorite but it's single coil so it can be hard to build a low ohm coil. Obviously on a mech, lower ohms = more power.

I run Samsung 25R's in my mechs. They're a good balance between amps and battery life. U can build down to .2ohms safely. I take mine a bit further though.

As for the smok magneto, I have to original one but have never used it.

I just picked one up as my first mech/rda set, I love it so far. It is solid to hold and has gold plated contacts. I got stainless steel as I intend on painting it eventually
