Questions about Eleaf Istick Power 80w and TC mode

Sorry, realised I should have posted this to the Temp Control Q&A. I've posted it there, but can a mod delete this thread please??

I have recently started to test out TC mode on my mod. I'm using a Kylin RTA and wrapping my own coils with 316L Stainless Steel.

In TC-SS mode, which according to Eleaf is for SS 316, I can run it at about 160˚C and it gives a nice vape.

When in M1 mode, which I have set with a TCR of 0088 (which I got from steam-engine) I have to run it at about 250˚C + to get a decent vape from it.

Which of these is right?

According to steam-engine, the TCR value of 316 and 316L is negligible.

The TCR of 316 SS is 92. Not sure why SE would say 88. Regardless, if it's working well on the default SS on the mod, why mess with custom TCRs?

The temperature reading of 160 C (320 deg F) giving you a nice vape is obviously wrong no way that low a temperature is giving you good vapor if you have VG in your juice. An M1 TCR of 88 (or even your 92) is going to give you a more accurate temperature reading. I've tested my Pico 75W with a thermocouple and it's way in error on the standard SS setting and I'm using an M1 of 80 to get a more accurate temp reading.

Both... and niether... deferent math formulas using different heat scales and factors...

In either case it's a calculated temp not a measured reading.
