Burnt taste??

I have a kamry k100 mod and sentinal m16 mod. I have been using a kangertech pro tank III and pro tank 2 mini. I been having the problem after filling them and properly priming even putting my eliquid on the wick before hand and drawing without firing. After 5 or 6 pulls off each tank I'm getting a burnt taste. I read to turn the rubber grommet upside down which I think has helped prolong the burning taste but I am still getting a burnt taste after so many pulls. I'm using 18650 and 18350 Sony imr,s and stock kamry batteries. Am I firing to long? (Usually holding for 3 to 4 seconds) it is frustrating because I haven't had this problem until recently and have been doing everything the same. Would also like to add that the wick is not burning itself I have checked many times and it has been normal.

Are you using high VG? It can have more trouble wicking than PG, due to viscosity.

I dont fully understand the volts watts ohms yet but I know im using a stock 2.5 ohm coil from kangertech and 1.8 ohm on my mini

They even taste that way on my vision spinner on the lowest setting 3.3v. It taste better longer but if I take multiple hits it just gets a nasty taste.

My only guess is that you may be hitting too often to allow the wicks to re-saturate...maybe try taking a pull without firing every few puffs like you do when priming a fresh coil...

Are you drawing too hard? It took me a bit to get used to the draw. Then again, I don't know how long you've been vaping... the 1.8 gets hotter faster. I'm more of the 2.2 - 2.5 ohm range, myself. I like a longer, slow draw. I need to add, I haven't tried the Protank III. I'm using a mini Protank 2 and a full size. Do you rebuild? Sometimes stock coils can be hit or miss, too.

Here's a chart posted elsewhere in the forum. http://vapingunderground.com/threads/safe-vaping-power-levels-voltage-wattage-ohms.582/

I've read to use a 1.8ohm coils for good vapor/flavor production . I'm not really sure what to do now honestly. I've been drawing more often now between hits . I love my mods but I'm thinking I should probably get a regulated mod like until I get watts/volts/ohms down. All this gets confusing At times ha.

A vv/vw device would probably be better for clearo's.
The mechanicals may be putting too much power out for those coils.

It may be time to look into the new kangar tank that has a newly designed coil intended for sub ohm vaping (would work well with a mechanical) and it is also a kayfun style rebuildable attomizer. You can get your feet wet in rebuilding but if it doesn't work right or the build only lasts part way through the day or whatever you can just throw a kangar coil in and keep on going.

I do love my vv/vw devices. So user friendly and easy to work with. There's no guessing involved in that.

Good suggestion fq06

Thanks for the input guys I appreciate any and all advice given. Do you guys have any input on the VW Smok kick fuse for mods?

Not me, I'm out of my element on that stuff, lol. I only have an MVP and a vv3 for vv/vw. It sounds like a good thought, though. I bet the other posters have more input on that. In my mind it's a really good thought.

Won't get hanged by me! I always did that. Been a while since I used a stock coil, so I kinda forgot about that part. Good suggestion, imo.

I had similar problems with my Nautilus. It turned out I had a batch of bad coils. Try to not to screw the coil all the way. Leave it a bit loose. Like 1 turn before they lock. Try also replacing the coil.

When I use to use the pro tank 2 mini's the plastic peace was actually not always seated proper over the coil and and causing the burnt taste. I would have to constantly f with that part

Do any of you guys use tanks on mods and get burning taste? I finally kinda got the burning taste to go away by priming between vape hits and loosening the coil. I'm hoping to try to rebuild a coil myself with cotton seem riptrippers has videos on rebuilding coils for tanks . I got my sentinal m16 clone with tesla atty clone rigged with 2 coils at .51 ohms but vapor production isn't as good as my kangertech mini.

I just built a 1.5 ohm 12 wrap coil with cotton wick I followed riptrippers on rebuilding kangertech coils. Always a awesome flavor and I have not had one single burnt taste whatsoever!

I doubt you'll get a kick to fit a sentinal. It'll be too loose. Same with Smoks (don't know about the kamry tho)

My kamry has bent the bottom of my batteries in. I think it's a good cheaper mod to start with but poor design on their half . I'm only going to be using rdas I have decided for my sentinal. For some reason my Atty tohb clone will read ohms but when put on any mod will not fire. If I screw the copper screw out the center post is to loose. But fires lol no clue guess because it's a cheap clone. I'm going to be picking up a mutation or little boy this weekend hoping for a better rda experience!
