Today was not just vape-related... Its very existence was made possible by vaping, since it was the last day of my 3rd yr as a non-smoker. Tomorrow will be the first day of my 4th yr as a non-smoker, another year which also would not be possible without vaping. :)

It hasn't happened yet but I'm about to head to town to see what the vape shop has on hand. I've got a good bit of money coming my way and I want to see if I'd get a better score local or online. Online for sure but then there's the waiting. So we'll see.

Went to the vape shop. Mod wise it was a total bust. Alien kits for $120. Tesla invader 2/3 for a hundred.. even the istick 200w was about 80. Basically all of the mods were priced at double what you find online. I did find some juice that I will be going back for. Alien piss. Smelled amazing, and hilarious name!

I remembered to add juice to my tank. Kept having a brain fart, knew it was getting low. Ranting at morons on fb, took a hit and thought 'phew, need to add juice'. More ranting, 'oh yuck, need to add more juice'. Finally damn near got a full burnt hit and was like ok, fine, I'll fill it right this minute. lmfao. Swapped the burnt strawberry cotton candy for green apples.

Those juices DIY?

Hoping to mix up a few juices tonight. Also have the urge to throw a build in my mech that i haven't tried yet, but I no longer have any batteries for it. So if i want to do that, i'll have to stop at a local shop and probably pay out the ass for a battery.

I spent some time thinking about my experience of vaping so far, and what things I have liked, and what things less so, and how that might apply to future purchases and sales. In particular, I focused on atomizers, and the qualities that (for me) yield a pleasing vape…including not just the vape itself but the build process as well.

There’s a lot of “ooh, shiny!” out there, but if I am going to pull the trigger on something, I want to have a good idea it is going to work…for me.

Cheers,
Ian

No not yet. Hoping to get into diy, every time I budget for vape stuff though it's either another juice order or some hardware catches my eye. One of these days lol.

My brother of another mother. ;)

Built up a big pair of quad-core Claptons, 30/40 SS, 4mm, 8 wraps, total 0.25Ω, and set them up in an Alpine RDTA from Syntheticloud, driven by the Therion 166.

Two big wins…I love the Alpine…the combo of the bottom-flow and top-flow air is perfect, it was a breeze to build on, and it looks the business. Great plumes of vapor, and great flavor. Instant favorite for me.

Second…Japanese Muji cotton pads are amazing for wicking. Easy to roll into a ready-to-thread wick, great capillary action, no taste, sweet price.

Just placed a order at dashvapes.com for the first time. Being a Canadian it only seems right I give them a go. They were suggested by someone here at the VU forum..So yeah I got 4 different ejuices, 3 Samsung 25R's (no more waiting to use my alien while the batteries charge and I can use this cool ohms reader that came with my DIY Kit) also I've ordered my 2nd RDA..super pumped about that :) even with dropping over $200 today I'm set for August and it's stilllll cheaper than a months worth of tobacco. Cheers!

Today I have been considering picking up a Smok G-Priv as a birthday gift to myself (July 31st!). I'll be 32 -- I should have as many mods as years ;) so am still playing catch-up :D.

If I end up deciding that I should get the mod, the only thing I need to figure out is what color I will want.

I've been looking at different mods for my son, who started vaping 3 wks ago. One that looks really interesting is the Funky 160W Mod by Aleader, and although it's a little bigger than I usually prefer, I told my son I liked it so much, I might even get one for myself. He said "Well, if you do... I'll probably steal it. Just so you know." :giggle: Bumptious brat! :giggle:

Those are some good-looking mods! Definitely competition for the Cartel.

Yeah, I might not want to use it every day, but for longer treks from home, having a 2-batt mod would be handy, so I could deal with the larger size/weight, for the longer runtime. He and I both vape at such low wattage, a 2 batt mod might last half a week. I can get 2 full days from one of my LG HE2s. He vapes just slightly higher wattage, but he could get well over a full day.

Stopped in at a local shop that I only discovered last week just to browse & dream. Noticed they had a Griffin RTA & asked to look at it since I've heard a lot of good things about them. And how much since it was missing its price tag. She said $25, I said sold, then I noticed it was missing the drip tip, she said $20, sold, then I decided Sichuan it was missing the drip tip I needed to check everything else, it was missing the replacement glass, walked out with it for $15. Looking forward to building this thang!

Any suggestions on what coils to use? Go big or go small?

Made two trial bottles.....charged some batteries. Filled tanks. Looked at ordering some more coils.....acting like I have the budget for ordering. Vaping some diy caramel sugar cookie. And strawberry coconut. And glazed donuts with vanilla ice cream.....

Yep, baby beast. Ordered from Breazy.com. 29.99 plus 4 shipping.
The baby beast I have, I was just wondering as a reference to what size tank that tiny thing could handle without looking awkward. Love it!

Wicked my new Griffin RTA. Very happy with this thing! Next on my agenda is a new mod. Then I will be done for a while... I really need that to be true!

I've used a Griffin on a Pico for over a year now. Great tank but Ive broken the glass several times until I started using bands. Thats just me though being clumsy. I just started using SS wire recently and the flavor is through the roof.

Recoiled the Vandy Vape Kylin with quad-core Claptons, 3mm, 5 wraps, ended up at 0.12 ohms. It gets hot fast, but the vapor is cool, and perhaps not quite as dense as before...still a good vape though.

When wicking it this time I used the Japanese Muji cotton and tried a new technique that worked brilliantly. I purposefully made the wick tails too long and pulled them through the juice flow ports, fluffed them up fully, then shaved them flush with the build deck with a Feather razor blade. No guessing about wick length, perfect trim to the port, and no disturbing the distribution of fibers so as to compromise capillary action and juice flow.

Cheers,
Ian

debated on getting a new tank..Been using a combination of my rda and tank over the past few weeks. RDA was exciting for about 3-4 weeks. It's still awesome and I got a ICON coming next week. But I've been loving my old trusty tank this week..I dunno maybe buying a Baby Beast soon lol #vapelife

I went to the vape shop today to have coils put on a new rda I bought online. Found out the rda is no good so ended up buying a Druga at the shop and he gave me and put on new coils. Score! Got a good price on the Druga too! I love it.

A few minutes ago I watched, and helped, my son put a new stainless coil into one of my old Kayfuns, so he could try out the TC feature of one of my CF4-TC-18650s. *sniff* My baby's growing up and turning into a real vaper. :D (he's 29, BTW!) He seems to like TC, and stainless, somewhat better than I did. He can stand a bit more heat and airflow than I can, so I guess it's not surprising. Plus, by the time I tried out stainless TC, I'd already been vaping for 2 yrs, so I had a firm handle on building kanthal coils to vape at 10w, my own form of TC, whereas he just started vaping 3 wks ago, it's all new to him.

Went to my vape shop only to realize my vaping preferences have evolved past what they offer. I bought some batteries, showed off my Lost Vape Drone, and happily vaped all the way home.
I had a similar experience today. Went to a new shop & realized I had a better collection at home than what they had to offer. The guy at the shop said the owner won't listen to anyone about what he should be carrying.

Well, I started rapping to the manager one day and it sounded like she was going to take some of my suggestions to the owners. Then, the next time I saw her she informed me that she was being moved to another location. The new manager at the shop didn't know what squonking even was. They carry decent things for people that are starting out with vaping. They just don't have much to cater to the intermediate or advanced vapors. Also, they charge a lil to much IMO. I buy my juice, batteries (except they don't carry 20700's), and cotton there. Otherwise they carry nothing I have interest in.

Yeah, I asked about squonk mods at a place recently and they yelled, "NO!" at me. I looked at them very puzzled & walked out. By far, my weirdest experience in a value shop ever.

why is it that vape shops seem to always be owned by guys who either dont vape or have been vaping 3 months lol. I havent been in a vape shop in years for all those same reasons, they just buy their budget in bulk cheap Chinese crap and try to push it along with 20% flavor west single flavor "Specialty house recipe" juice.... Ive gone to the complete opposite side of the spectrum with my mod collection and given away all but 2 mods my daily user and my back up. Ive become pretty set in my ways on my style of vaping, no need for all kinds of stuff

still better than vendor juice though and cost me about 12 cents :D
That's what I love about DIY. When I tried a new store bought juice that sucked I was out, at minimum, $10. How did you like the flavors from DIY Flavor Shack?
