Ok guys and girls
How many box mods can you list in the world with the atty tank on the side (vtr style)
Lots and Lots of top fit atty box mods (dna style) but not many of the vtr style
Why not ?
I think the manufactors are missing the boat on this one
What would you all want to see in this format

Ok only on the basis that its $8 for being different "a bargain", they are almost there, i did see the 18650 version pistol type grip looks great
Google images throws up a lot of variations. I looked in it when you said atty on top then I remembered. I bought a big box of boxes of cartos from an ebay seller off loading his old stock. I'm sure I'll use them one day

You forgot

The gizmo
The microstick
The firebox
Hero APV
Zenesis sidewinder
Ignition by rogue workx (without a battery)
Triton stock
Shield mod

And my favorite, let this stand on its own:
Stig Helix

Please keep this thread alive, always looking for more! I have no idea why side by side mods aren't more popular, makes so much sense in my mind

Does make sense. They just limit size of tank. New mods are fitting larger ones now. Found one that can fit a 26650 tank yet? Side by side mods are the best stealthies imo

26650 refers to the battery, not the tank. you 're talking about the diameter of a 26650? That's 26mm I think. The ignition should accept....texting my buddy now...
I know. We say 26650 to describe larger sized atties (also sometimes a slang term for 'rba & rda) as they vary in mm (millimetres)

Hey there Kid! hope all is well on the other side of the pond. Grimm does some good reviews, I want to get into RDA's but with my jacked up eyesight, I need something with a large platform to work with lol.

Haha everything in vape seems small and fiddlly. The uk is murky today. You know, I was thinking the other day about square shaped tanks. They'd be easier to make.

My TOBH 28.5mm is very large inside and easy to rebuild. Best tank I have for my hades and Seven 22

Well, had no choice but to buy a kato box mod , a lovely thing indeed i sooooooooooooooooo wish it was a vw/vv mod then it would be my ideal mod
please someone launch a regulated side by side box mod

Who aggree's this would be the perfect mod
1. atty on side with support ring like the kato upto 23mm or even bigger to fit 26650 rta's rba's
2. 26650 battery
3. sx350 chip set power upto 100w but can regulate down to a true 7 watts
4. all stainless steel and copper contacts (maybe some wood accents)
5. floating 510 pin ( one you can replace when the threads f...ck up )
6. Short screw in adaptor block so you can fit dripping attys ( stainless steel of course ) like the vtr adaptor but shorter
7. price tag $150 shipped

Not much to ask me thinks ??????

Have i missed anything out ?

HO I forgot to say that i now own a seven 22 mod just because its a 26650 vv/vw mod at a good price (loving this too)
Once again not to many of these around supporting the 26650 battery

Glad this thread was resurrected, I've thought side-by-side VV/VW would be the best of all worlds. Looking at some of the units mentioned here, I don't see a need for the support ring. It adds visual balance but really, is it necessary? What was wrong with the Zenesis sidewinder, it looked great.

Now having both the vtr and the kato box mods the support ring is a must, when the atty is fully screwed down the top portion still wobbles. If you catch the drip tip some how you could bend the 510 thread, the ring stops that.
Whilst nice as the sidewinder and others are, we really need a vv/vw versions.
nice to see you all keeping the thread alive

I like the design of the Kato...shame all of the attys I use are too short. They need to come up with some sort of riser.

Have really enjoyed this thread and appreciate all the suggestions. Does anyone know if there might be a Stig Helix clone on the horizon? I love the looks of it and it satisfies most of the requirements desired by everyone following this thread. Way too pricey for me as it stands. I use a MEL Beast Box now. Twin 26500s but the atty is on top. Makes it top heavy. I hate the length of tube modes if they are regulated and have any decent battery size, which for me is 26500, 26650 or dual 18650s. I work outside a great deal and carry my mod in my shirt pocket and the form factor under discussion here is much less likely to fall out all the time.

Does anyone have an opinion about the VTR? Aside from the battery not being as large as I would like and the wattage lagging behind current developments, the form factor is good. Don't have one myself but always liked the looks of it since it does fit the form factor that this thread is concerned with. I have never bought one due to the battery size and price but it is showing up at slightly more affordable prices all the time. Even with the battery size it might be a good work mod.

Jason i now have seven22 mod, sigelei 100w mod, kato mech mod, and 2 vtr's
the vtr is the only vv/vw mod with the form factor and i would have to say that despite the 15w limit it still is my go to mod.
You need to cut the ring of so you can fit 22mm attys on it and its a bit heavy

I rather like this one myself but it has a design flaw.

The vent for the battery is pointed directly at your face.

Who needs a face anyways - lol

If 15 watts is enough then you can put a kick in the kato 510 tube and run it with an 18650. I'm on the hunt for a shield style mod.

K-box wooden shield style box mod is one, but you have to get on another list.

I'm stealth-vaping with a huge-ass Dovpo-E-Mech and a Big Dripper topper in a bar right now.

I've come to realize that you're more successful getting away with vaping in "forbidden" places when people haven't got a friggin' clue what you're doing than when you try to hide it. Vaping out of something that looks likes a humongous satellite phone (and not being particularly discret about it) seems to draw fewer comments than vaping out of my miniature mint-box stealth vaping setup...

As they say, when you're hiding something, you look like you've got something to hide. Just saying...

But I digress.

This is the first one that I poured in a mold, it stuck so i covered it with black epoxy. It has a micro usb charger and a 3400 mah battery in it. I made a new silicone mold with a more rounded shape that also has a plate on top to keep the rda from snatching the threads out when dropped. I have dropped this one and replaced the connector 2 times. Now I just wedge a bit of plastic in it, will use it until the battery gives out then make another.

Thanks. That is what I needed to know. A shame it won't handle the average tank though.

I totally agree. I have the VTR and hope Innokin updates it to 30-40 watts and makes it fit with 22 mill tanks. Side mount is the way to go. throw in your pocket and go

The Stig Helix is nice but costs about 3 times the VTR

I like this thread. Been looking at side mounted boxes forever. In trying to keep this alive has anyone seen this mod.

This is made by V-Modz and comes with and SX350 Chip that can run from 5w to 60w. They are also making an adapter to put in for rda's and rba's that wont fit. I really like this mod.

Thats a stock picture from V-mods website. What does yours look like? or do you work for V-mods? They are very cool except for all that engraving and the word "Fire" next to the fire button.

Robert: I don't own one. Looking at investing in one of the side mounted mods soon and was looking around. Stumbled upon there page. Yeah I like the box over all with the engravings. The fire above the button for me in no issue. I understand some people have an issue with buying anything that has fire in the name or on the mod.

franciscan: What mod is that? Do you have anymore info on it?

I found this one too last night while searching through the net. Its called The RailBox, it has an Evolv DNA 40 chip and as you can see the part the rba/rda mounts to swings out. You can not tell in the picture it also slide up and down depending on the size of the rba/rda. The only thing I don't like about this one is that when the cover goes on it encase the rba/rda not allowing you to see it. Don't understand how that could be good for airflow.

I never said I have a problem with anything that says "fire" on it, it just looks like a blinged out douchebag box is all. I have contacted them and they are more than willing to make a box without all that crap all over it.

Sorry, if that seemed like I was referring to you. I have noticed in threads and facebook that people tend to veer away from products with the word fire in it or on the product. Well that's one good thing to know if I decide to go that route. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, seems a bit redundant to have the word "Fire" on a button that is quite obvious what it is. That chrome look is a bit over the top too. (for me).

Otherwise, it's a very cool box, and Christopher (owner) is responsive to email questions. Since it's made from aluminum, I also asked him about anodizing, but haven't heard back from him on that.

Yes, the chrome is a lot. Its going to be a fingerprint magnet. They have the one on there site with the satin finish I don't know if you like that or not but its an idea. Keep us informed If you get on I'd like to see whats your take on it is.
