@Matty102 sorry to hear this but don't think vaping will cause this, I have had a virus for a few months & don't think vaping has made it worse.

& @AndriaD I don't really understand cloud chasing either, I think it's a total fad.
But you still definitely vape lower wattage than me... haha, I'm vaping at 40 watts with my tarot nano currently. But do spend a lot of time with my Nautilus mini at 12 watts an that's the one tank that has had me off the stinkies for 3 years!

Those Tarots are gorgeous mods; I just saw them today in an email I got from some vendor, and those are really sharp! I love anything colorful. :D

She read it here, in your first post, where you asked if vaping could have given you pneumonia:

That doesn't mean that I said "Vaping did give it to me" I asked if it was a possibility. I am doing research on different things. That's why I asked could it be a possibility not "Oh hell, Vaping gave me Pneumonia.

The purple CF4 is wrapped. The 2 with my name on them are custom etched, by Phiniac, and have a "sparkle" clear coat, though that clear coat is starting to bubble-up on the red one. :( Eventually I'll have to put a wrap on that, so I'll go with red sparkles. And I'll probably redo the wrap on the purple one; that one never has looked quite right to me, so I'll get a purple sparkles wrap for it.

The 3 on the far right -- 2 iPV Minis and an SX Mini M class -- are wrapped, because Yihi makes great electronics for vapes, but nearly all have the shittiest paint that scratches and peels like mad.

You asked, I answered -- no, vaping did not cause your pneumonia... but it could possibly have aggravated it, I suppose, particularly if you're a high-VG vaper.

Yeah a lot of mods have the problem of paint peeling don't they :( the original coolfire iv's were great in the brushed steel but now they have joined everyone else on flaky paint jobs argh!

Well, the paint doesn't peel at all on the *metal* CF4s, though it can be worn off with hard use -- I bought that purple one used from a member here, and the paint was a bit worn, is why I wrapped it. But the sparkle clear-coat that Phiniac put on the red one is starting to bubble-up. The pink one isn't doing that, so I can only presume that they did the red one hurriedly or half-assed. There's a backstory there which also makes me think that, but no need to go into that. I've had those for almost 2 yrs now, they were very first no-smoke-a-versary present to myself back in 2015, so I've gotten plenty of use out of them, particularly the red one; until I had the red minibook, that etched red CF4 was my fave mod. So I'm not throwing a fit about it; eventually I'll wrap it, which will cover up my name, but I'll still have the pink one with my name, and the red one will look nice again. :)

The clear coat needs to be timed properly with the cure state of the base color for best performance.

Well, the "base color" is just Innokin's factory paint. Then, Phiniac etched the design and my name, and covered it with the clear coat to protect the etching.

Ok, backstory: I ordered that mod with that design, in RED, from Phiniac. Got a call from them the next day, wanting to know how I'd feel about pink instead of red. At the time, I had a pink iStick 30w, so I said nah, I really wanted red. Turns out, they hadn't read my order properly, and had done the design and my name, which is spelled so oddly, on the pink one. So, they went ahead and did the red one for me as I had ordered, and they offered me the pink one at cost, since they couldn't sell it to anyone else, with my oddly-spelled name on it. So I think they were mad (about their own incompetence or my unwillingness to accept their incompetence), and did the red one half-assed.

So I paid full-price for the red one -- $55, with the custom work on it -- and $25 for the pink one -- total of $80, which avgs to $40 each, which is about the going price for those mods WITHOUT custom etching -- so I basically got custom etching on 2 mods, for free. I think that's what pissed them off. If my name had been Carol or Sue or Alice, or even "Andrea", I wouldn't have gotten that deal. ;)

Getting clearcoat to stick well to unknown composition paint is a bit problematic.

It's sticking just fine to the pink one; no bubbles at all. That's why I think they made a halfassed or hurry-up job of it, on the red one.

Perhaps... or perhaps the pink and red paint are different?

CSI needs to investigate.

I have had a bad chest infection since I started to vape, but I don't think it was in any way linked to vaping, I just got ill which happens.

Pneumonia is swelling in the tissue of your lungs, and is often due to a chest infection. A lot of the time when you are told you have a bad chest infection, you will have pneumonia but won't need to be hospitalised. They won't mention the word pneumonia to you, as most people go into a panic when they hear this word for some reason.

As long as you are healthy, pneumonia isn't exactly nice, but it isn't what a lot of people think it is.

  1. For what its worth. I used to get pluracy and or pneumonia every second year. I get asthma too. Anyway, it was getting a worry and a Doc recomended trying a Pnumovac (spelling?) shot. Said some swear by it and others say its not great. Hey, couldnt go on the way i was id end up with damage of sorts so i said yeah give it. Iv never had either since and that was over 15 years ago. Worked for me.
