18650 Batteries Regulated Explosions

Hey i recently pulled a bunch of batteries out of a laptop they are 18650 800mAH at 3.7v i know you don't recommend using them but whats my % chance of them blowing up in a Kbox 160 regulated mod. or something going horribly wrong any tips or advice??

...no, actually just joking, sort of.

But seriously: there is no way to estimate any more or less accurate "danger percentage", as it depends of lots of factors and variables. For example, if you keep the coil resistance high, the wattage very low etc etc, actually nothing may happen...but again it may, if you make one singly tiny mistake...

You simply DO NOT use such batteries in vaping gear ! NO.

You'd have spent less money buying good new batteries than the time you spent trying to salvage old batteries from a pack and posting your question here - unless you don't value your time much.

Having said that, there is probably zero risk trying to use your old batteries: when the mod tries to pull current from them, their voltage will simply collapse. If it goes down low enough, the mod will simply say "low battery" or something.

There is ALWAYS some risk involved with using Lithium rechargeable batteries.

Look up pictures of what peoples faces look like when their mod blows up while using it. Then decide if its worth the risk to not have to pay a measly $20-$25 for some proper 18650 3500's (((its not)))

If you are referring to 3500 mAh batteries, they will NOT diminish the risk in any way except your imagination. Also, mods do NOT explode due to poor choice of battery.

Please do not use those Batteries, can you count how many times those batteries have been charged ? if like me so many times I could not remember. I personally think you are just asking for trouble. Get your self some new Batteries for your ecig gear and go read the Forum here on Batteries Chargers and safety, by the time your done reading you might just ask yourself What was I thinking.

Idk why you alll are freaking out about the bats they a 18650 and a 18650 battery is a 18650 battery and whe nthey are in a laptop they run in pairs so they are all married the exact same bats all charged to the same amount of electricity and me and my brother have been using them for close to a week now and they work absolutely great!

Well I guess to each his own, I think this really is a bad Idea, also 850 mah is kinda useless driving a sub tank if that is what your doing, do me a favor and read up on thermal runaway and venting batteries because I think this is a accident waiting to happen. Do you have the amp rating on those because you should be using batteries at Minimum of 20 amps. I pray I do not read about you getting half your face blown off by being a know it all when folks have tried to help you understand. You are playing with fire.
