Fused claptons

Hi guys and gals. This weekend I dabbled with fused Claptons and with great success. I made several that were dual 26g kanthal cores w/ 36g kanthal wrap.

Flavor is amazing. Anybody else have a certain build that they feel has better flavor than this? So far this is the best flavor I've seen from any of my rdas.

Alien staples/Interlocks and staggertons around 0.06 or 0.07.
These are two of my favorite builds but a normal stagg vapes just as good as this one.

I'm a fused Clapton guy myself and I can't recommend anything else however I have found that using n80 cores work better

Try it with 3 cores, Dave. Personally, I prefer 3 to 2. I just made a pair of 4×28/38, and don't see an improvement over 3×28/38. Best tasting coils I've made so far are aliens, though.

The more exotic builds will give you better flavor, but if you want to try something new and still keep it simple you could try some twisted Claptons (that's 2-3 strands of single core Claptons twisted together)

How do you do your builds? And wondering if my method would keep all 3 flat. I used 2 ball bearing swivels in a vice, loop my core wire through, bend the ends outward and close them into the chuck of my drill. So car no twisting. I've got a boat load of 28g I bought long ago so I'd love to burn that up!

I'm using 6 swivels right now lol. Got the swivels, got the room, the more the merrier! And I use the clip loop from an old swivel, locked in the chuck on the drill end. I keep the cores flat with a keyring, but I just got some 0.4 ribbon and will be trying the "ribbon slider" on my next build.

Here's my 4 core:

Ohms in @0.14 on the Merlin.

You can see the cores started bunching on me on the farside coil. Damn Lightning Vapes wire got kinky towards the middle of the spool:mad: Happened with their 36 and 38g SS316L. I'm done with LV wire!

Better than SS316L?

Stainless is great but I prefer the look of the build with n80 and I think it last longer, I use simple round wire builds for temp with 316

If you're using regulated mods you aren't going to get different performance from n80 or SS. The power is always going to be what you set it to on the mod.

Ive been builidng a lot with Ni80 lately, put a parallel 26x36g flapton 20g ni80 build together and a twisted 22g, both giving great flavours. havent played around with SS yet though, very tempted

What about Fused claptons made from Stainless Steel. Mine seem to work not so good on TC.

It would only work on tc if you have a mod that can be dialed in for the wire types. The only way it would work more easily is to wrap with ss as well as the cores.

Pizzadave80 has got the answer right there. TCR adjustments with the non dna mods. Make sure the core and wrap are the same material, and make sure you match the material with the TCR rating. Also don't squish the coils after wrapping, make sure there is a tad of space between wraps, should fix up any snags in the TC issues.

Also, pizzadave80, your coils are looking good, but don't fall for the deadalus, keep wrapping by hand, at least then you can adjust pressure of wraps on the cores to your liking.

I have Evic VTwo Mini. There is option for TC in SS316L. In TC SS316L with SS316L Clapton it goes to VW mode automatically. The wrap is spaced. Why's that?

Thanks for the answers.
