RDTA 5 Help

So the RDTA 5 by iJoy is a Genesis style tank with velocity deck.
All was well as i recently got it.

Then I started dripping directing on the cotton/coils. And the flavor and vape is insanely good.
but is not reproduced when i vape without dripping (ie. juice from the bottom tank section).

I think my my wicks aren't soaking enough. I wicked it exactly as the video showed, cut cotton at the glass.
They don't get completely wet even when i turn it upside down, you still see like small strand of white dryness of the coils.

Some advise with be helpful.

You may need to use less cotton, and make sure there is a gap around each wick hole. Otherwise the juice will not wick properly.

I thought that was the problem but when i do use less cotton it moves too freely inside the coils (as in through the center of the coil).
People say that there should be some resistance when pulling it through the coils so that it is tight.

Can I not just trim some it in like a diagonal from the coil to the end of the wick?

Trim in a diagonal or diamond point. OR you can thin out the ends. If wicked correctly, your wicks should be saturated with juice from the tank while Vaping.
As the other mentioned, leave a little gap for air to get in the tank to displace the juice.

What cotton are you using?

I always just dip my cotton into the juicewell of RDTAs doesn't need to go in far

Insert cotton like you normally would should be snug but not so tight it moves the coil

When in there rake the ends out to thin them a bit and trim to correct length ...never had to use a diomond cut on an RDTA myself a straight cut Should be fine

Also I always ensure the cotton hole is plugged with cotton or you'll end up flooding the deck when vaping

I use the Scottish roll method on all my wicks but do the above

I don't have the 5 but a similar wicking technique could be adopted on all of them I showed how to wick the Merlin RDTA here (obviously wick to size of the coil I used chunky coils in my review and on the Merlin best not to use any coil less than 3mm inner diameter the 5 maybe different)

@KingPin! I use cotton bacon.

Thanks guys I shall have a look.
What works for me is I pack it tightly into the coils so that I actually need to hold the coil while running it through. I then take a pick like a dental pick to brush out/straighten the fiber of the tails.

Works every time
