Just got the Pharaoh RTA and put my first coil and wicking in with 92.53% success (nothing wrong with it, just figure there is always room for improvement).

I've only ever used pre-built coils and all I say is WOW what a difference on flavor! as soon as the local weather service lifts the Fog warning around my house I'll let you know how the clouds are :)

I was just so excited I had to share!

You mean this is the first time you've built your own coil? Btw there's a thread on ECF on the Pharaoh :) if interested go check it out.

I just ordered a Pharaoh the other day. I noticed all the different decks that were available, and was intrigued not only by the included deck, but I also ordered a 'deck 4' for it; it's a postless deck that is a copy of the Petri deck. Looking at the thing, I think it ought to work pretty good. :)

Did you receive the post-less deck yet? If so, how did you wick it? The velocity deck I own has 2 tiny holes on each side which I'm assuming is to feed the cotton through. However, from the looks of it, I doubt the holes are large enough to place enough cotton to fully cover the juice flow slot like you normally would with the original single coil deck.

I did finally receive my Pharaoh and deck 4. Haven't yet tried the postless deck; as soon as I could I simply dropped a single alien coil into the standard deck and wick it.

The tank is HUGE! At least from what I was expecting. And it vapes like a champ. The single coil build performs almost as well as my dual-coil setup in the Petri. Great vapor, and equally great flavor. Very impressed. Had to learn to be careful with the juice flow control; full open and the tank will leak like a sieve. Other than being so large, I like the tank.

The postless deck seems to be very similar to the velocity deck as far as juice flow design. There are two small holes in the floor of the deck to allow juice to enter. Small holes; there's no way cotton was supposed to go through the holes. When wicking, lay the cotton down on the floor of the deck to pick up the juice. The holes in the velocity deck look to have the same design intention.

Recoiled and rewicked the Pharaoh last night. The seeping bothered me. I installed a juggernaut coil with a 4 mm inner diameter. This allowed for double the amount of wick I was originally using. Apparently the increase in wicking amount stuffed down into the holes solved the problem. Now I have the juice flow controls wide open; all night last night and all through the day I never had to wipe a single drop of juice. Problem solved. This tank is designed for a fairly large coil with sufficient wick. Mind you, this is still on the original single coil base.

Google searching I found that this tank is basically a cosmetically different version of the Griffin AIO tank system. It also has interchangeable decks for it, and they are the same decks as the Pharoah. My deck 4 box said Griffin AIO on it. I like the looks of the Pharaoh much better, and for my larger mods that need a 25mm atomizer it fits the bill very well.

For those thinking about it, this ain't no MTL tank.

Short update on my Pharaoh experience. Dropped my mod and tank today; only about 2 1/2 feet onto a lightly carpeted wood floor. Popped my mod's magnetic cover back on an gave it not a thought. At the time my hands were full. About 15 minutes later I went to take a hit, but it wouldn't fire. Mod said connect atomizer.?.? Took the tank off and noticed the bottom pin was up into the connector and wouldn't make connection to the positive pin.

The deck screws down into a stainless steel sleeve, which is press fit into the base. The inertia from the shock caused this sleeve to move upward making the distance to the connector longer and the center post was no longer long enough. Easily corrected by gentle taps with a small hammer to seat this sleeve back into the base.

The tank does not seem to be a real sturdy tank though. I just hope it all holds together until I try the other base and/or get tired of it. It's a pretty good working tank but you gotta treat it gently. For work I think I'll stick to the Petri.

I think I may also have that same issue. If I lightly tug on my tank (silver/black), the silver sleeve that the deck screws into appears to loosen and slightly separate from the black base. I wouldn't mind it if it wasn't leaking from this gap from time to time :(

There's an awful lot of stuff going on in tanks nowadays. Bottom airflow adjustment, juice flow control, interchangeable decks, top airflow control, top filling access...........etc. Sometimes you just need a KISS.
