Hey master builders,
i'm here asking my first building questions
i was wandering around when i saw "How to make macro coils tutorial"
then i saw "Micro coils"
and more!
i already know what's clapton wire, i know what's twisted, double and more
but i need a complete list of these with a definition
can somebody help me with this?
what is micro coil? what is macro coil? what other types of coils are out there?

ok i got answer to my main question, what is micro and macro coils.
micro coil is one that wraps are in contact, and macro is opposite
but wouldn't micro coil shorten the wire and lower the resistance? is there some insulating layer on wires?

EDIT: some guy just told me that a macro coil isn't one that has space between wraps but actually is the one that uses a lower gauge wire! :|

ok guys, i better stick here and watch for your guides

Micro and macro has nothing to do with the thickness of the wire or how tight or loose it's being wrapped, it refers to the ID of the coil and nothing else.

When you heat a coil the outer layer oxidises and acts as an insulator.

oh well, thanks for your answer, is there any chance that they'll short out?

Yes, there's some chance, but that's why we wiggle and tweak out hot spots (shorts if that's better for you)

ok thanks, so if it gets hot and fades in red from center to sides it's doing ok, right?
