Need help for my dad

Hey all!
I've launched a gofundme to help my father get his vape with the hope he quits smoking. Now I'm not here to ask for donations (or you can if you want i really appreciate it), more so to get some help, what's the best kit around 50$ to give for a person whos smoking for 43 years now. I don't really know much about different kits, I've only read studies and personal opinions, stories and i've decided i buy one for him. You can see the rest on the page I linked
Thanks anyone for answers :)

There are many kits available, that are simple to use, that fall under your required price. I like the eLeaf Pico mod. The kit comes with a Melo tank, that many are happy with. It's a great little mod and really easy to use. There's also the AL85, a smaller version of the Alien mod, made by Smok. Both mods have many fans, I prefer the Pico, of the 2.

I second the Pico. Also if he has been a long time smoker he might enjoy something along the pen style mod front, a great option is the hohmskillet from hohmtech. It all really depends on how he wants to experience vaping. I will say that although we have almost all started on pen style mods and progressed having been bitten by the oh so wonderful vape bug, it is by no means a required step in the progression. Granted they are the overly simplistic point and shoot option, the plethora of mod starter kits available now offer an incredible amount of user friendly options that are very easy to adapt to and begin enjoying right away with very little learning curve. Off the top of my head I would say look at the smok g80 kit, al85, smok stick kit, vaporesso tarot nano/mini, wismec rx mini kit.

Check out a site like misthub as they have great, easy to follow, and very informative guides designed to aid New vapers, as well vaping360.com has a whole section that reviews and ranks the various options, giving pros and cons from everything from complete beginner to advanced level hardware.

Once you home in on some options feel free to ask any of us here for more detailed information based on our personal experiences with the gear in question as we can answer questions as well as point you toward finding the best deal on the setup you ultimately choose.

At the end of the day there are so many options and it certainly can be overwhelming, yet remember that none of us became experienced vapers overnight, and thankfully that is why it is so amazing to have a resource like VU. Most importantly, we are all here with the primary purpose of helping others as we've been helped to put down the filthy cigarettes and enter into a wide world of enjoyment we had no idea existed until we took that first mtl/rlh/dlh of some amazingly tasty ELiquid and where like oh f!!kballs, that was awesome!

I would go with the pico, mione or the aio.
Alot of people have had success quitting with both
The pico is a great mod and will last him a very long time. With it you'll want to get some good 18650 batteries, like Samsung 30qs, get him a pair of those, spare coils and a charger to start.

The aio and mione are both all in one systems so pickup some extra coils. The advantage to the pico is he can change the battery and keep vaping. The aio and mione have internal batteries so he'll want to charge it at some during the day.

Another vote for the AIO. Super simple and cheap enough for $50.00 you could get him a couple and have one for a backup. I love mine.
