HIC's Mellow Vanilla recipe: smooth, lightly sweet, creamy vanilla - excellent "fixer" too)

2% FlavourArt Vanilla Bourbon (Classic works okay, Tahiti does not)
1% FlavourArt Vienna Cream
1% FlavourArt Fresh Cream
1% FlavourArt Marshmallow

Shake 'n vape!
This is great to keep on hand for fixing failed recipes, too.

How would 0.5% bilberry with 0.5 blackberry go with this? I need a berry vape. Tired of straight bilberry.

I wouldn't do that. This is a really mild, mellow kind of flavor, and I think that much berry would just bury it. Especially the blackberry, which I personally find hair-raisingly strong.

tried this to fix some RY4 mixture that has gone a bit..ummm..you know..disappointing ..it got better. But all of a sudden I realized that it is heading in the direction of GLV's Deadly Sin..I wonder how it will be like if I add a tad bit of TFA's Coconut Extra (maybe 0.5%). what do you think HIC?

I don't know that GLV flavor, but there's no reason to avoid coconut if you want it.

I'd start with 0.5% myself. It's easy to add more later, if you want more.
I tried 0.5 and 0.25% and I got a coconut shampoo taste. I am currently down to 0.125% and will see how it works out. Seems like I should have gone with FA's coconut instead.

Just mixed this up, HIC. Really nice as always. Very subtle flavours, which suits me perfectly.

I goofed and forgot vienna cream. Might sub in catalan just for kicks.

Edit: I can report that it is pretty good. I used 100% VG, so I had to add a bit more of each.

I then added about 2ml of vcv's burley beard that I had lying around because it was too dang burly and it was also pretty good. Gonna let it steep some.

Whipped up a new batch, now that I have Vienna Cream. Used Vanilla Classic. I kind of messed up because my mind's eye also saw 1% caramel.

Turned out nicely. Mellow Butterscotch/Toffee. I'm finding this recipe is a great base for add-ins like caramel, sweet citrus, tobacco, and more. Jamaica Rhum might be my next add-in.

EDIT: I came to the conclusion that I simply don't like the recipe. I was expecting a vanilla main flavor, and this is not what I get from it.

HIC, I only taste a baked marshmallow, with fresh cream (which turns out to taste a lot like eggs). I don't know if it has been changed by FA like the meringue, but I suspect the FA Marshmallow you have to be a milder / older version. If I put anything over 0.5% of this, it overwhelms anythings it touches. I have 2 bottles of FA marshmallow, one from ECX and one from a Canadian supplier, they both are the same strengh and flavor profile. I bought the ECX one in March 2015, and Canadian one in June 2015.

I could be oversensitive to that flavor, but it would be a first for me. I tasted my Vienna alone, it's okay it's tastes like sweet cream, a little bit dairy. My bourbon tastes like dark tones of vanilla and my fresh cream taste like milk, a little bit on the soured milk side.

I sure hope it hasn't changed. My latest ECX bottle says lot #2015/2368. What's yours?

Mine tastes the same as always. I have a few nearly-empty old ones for comparison.

In fact, both my bottles were from ECX, I have a 2014-1612 and a 2015-846 lot. I just tried the 2014 standalone (not the one I made your recipe with), and I still taste something I don't like. So I came to the conclusion that your recipe was just not what I was expecting. I can only taste a hint of vanilla in it, if any. You cannot receive all positive comments eh? :)

I retried both standalone, and they taste the same. So it's me, I don't like marshamallow and I'm sensitive to it. I edited my first post.. I will play with vanillas and creams myself to see if I can obtain something more like what I expected, thanks

So I'm new right? If you "add in" do you have to change the whole formula? In my first batch, I screwed up and added too much vanilla so I just added a whole bunch of stuff and it turned out great but of course I didn't write any of it down and now replicating is almost impossible. I'm sure that's how most of you got a couple of your fav vapes and that's how I've created some of my husbands' favorite of my cooked meals lol... but if I wanted to add say "Jamaican rum" to it, would I have to recalculate?

This recipe is light flavoring to begin with, so NO - you wouldn't have to adjust anything to compensate, just add it in. Good choice, too - FA Jamaican Rum's a good sweetener for vanillas.

Old thread but new to me. Like it but too mellow. Upped everything 50%, liking it a lot more.
Also used Madagascar Vanilla FA No VB but I also like the darker note I get from it and sub it a lot for other Vanillas.
Thanks, another winner

Hi HIC. I'm new to this site and intrigued by your recipes and all your positive comments. I'm trying to order my first FA flavours to make Mellow vanilla. Can you confirm the following:

Is it Cream fresh or Cream

Also for Irish lass can only find Vanilla not classic vanilla as stated. Is this right?

Thanks for getting back if poss

"Fresh Cream" and "Cream, Fresh" are the same. I haven't seen vendors list it as "Cream".
"Vanilla Classic" and "Madagascar Vanilla" are the same, but I've never seen it listed as plain "Vanilla". FA has 3 different vanillas.

Can you point me to the vendor page you're looking at?

I use these guys as they are local (ish) to me and free delivery over £10 https://www.rainbowvapes.co.uk/collections/flavourart

Wow, their website listings are messed up! Here are links to the two you're looking for:
https://www.rainbowvapes.co.uk/coll...oducts/vanilla-madagascar-flavour-concentrate
and https://www.rainbowvapes.co.uk/collections/flavourart/products/coffee-espresso-flavour-concentrate

Now that second one is a page named coffee-espresso..., but it takes you to "cream fresh flavour concentrate"

It might be worth phoning in your order!

Hi HICs. I don't want to waste anymore of your time so I went with the above vendor and I'm happy that I've got all your ingredients. 7 concentrates will give me a good sample of your Popsicles, Irish Lass, and smooth vanilla. Can't wait

Thanks for pointing that out. Please could you suggest UK vendor or should I just go to http://www.flavourart.co.uk/.

I'm in the states, have no personal experience with either one. Of course flavourart.co.uk is an official vendor, but I've heard people mention rainbowvapes in a positive light, too. Sorry I can't be more helpful with this.

No you are sooo helpful. I think your contribution to this site and newbies like me is under appreciated. I've only found one ADV by fuzzmustards Strawberries n Cream http://e-liquid-recipes.com/recipe/104221/Mustard Milk - Simple Strawberries and Cream but it contains those potential nasties. I respect how Flavourart was one of the first to address those potential problem ingredients and how you appreciate that, and their quality and how you understand and work with their concentrates. It appears that you are very respected on this forum, hence why I joined.

Thanks for pointing that out. Please could you suggest UK vendor or should I just go to http://www.flavourart.co.uk/. I just want to get your recipe down to the letter as I've heard such good things. I need inspiration from a legend

I've done business with FA Italy and Chef's Flavours UK. Getting it directly from FA is cheaper and you know it's the original. However, their shipping is notoriously slow. If you've got the time to wait, use them.

CF has a massive selection of flavors from just about every company. Their prices are very competitive, and they ship quickly. Their customer service is good as well. I've yet to see any European vendor with a selection as large as theirs or with better overall prices.
