looking great @KingPin! . you know, you are only one tiny step from alien framed staples now right? just replace your middle 26g core with 4x.4mm ribbon and do everything else the same..

whats your secret to getting the mohawk? how do you find they vape? i made a set by accident when i was learning aliens and i didnt think they vaped very well. i think i was using a very thick wrap at the time though...never tried them again, but i should really get that technique down in case i need it for something...

That skill RDa is #1, G24 is #2 and Goon is #3....I highly suggest buying any of these if you want a RDA that does it all...

I think so, haha thanks. I haven't got many posts on this forum, mainly just browse. Will probably become more active though now. Im mostly active on PoTV. Forums, Instagram Facebook, Building and not enough time. I need to quit my job.

I haven't vaped them yet, still got a few shots to take before I do. I used squirming coils and mangled meditations tutorial as a guide. Basically same as a normal alien but wrap the beginning of the 3 cores first so they triangle. Then just alien like normal really with an under stretch on the decore.

Another shot, this was such a pain to stack with all the crossing lines. Not 100% happy but it was the best I could do with an iPhone.

Thanks... You telling me, I have yet to vape any of my successful builds. They are all sitting in a frosting container, from my cinnamon rolls

I vape F.C. cause that's what I'm best at making. LOL

All Kinds of coils... claptons, Fused claptons, staggered, Staggertons, cat Tracks, Aliens with 3/4/5 cores, staples and Framed staples, Metal snake spines, Multi and 40+Core builds, Fraliens, helixed staples, SSFC, Cor SSFC and .... and whatever

the darker ones are Pre-Fired.
And by the way my small fancy workplace in the basement where i do all my Stuff.

my Girl yet calls me Caveman when i Head to the Basement but hey have to Serve the two of us with coils and so i have to do for my buddies who dont have the Time or mood to learn how to build.

And so i Threw out to Sets of really Tiny staple coils for the TFV8 RBA (6ply 0.3 and 38 Clapton @0.2Ohm Dual) and a triple of a Variation of the Corrugated Helix this Time with three Twisted cores instead of two (3xtwisted 32G, 4ply 0.3, 38G Fuse @0.09Ohm Dual)

for most of my building career i just sat on the floor in my living room with all my tools in a circle around me, and my swivels clamped to a little anvil. turns out thats not ideal

my room mate gave me an old computer chair and desk, so i set it up in my bedroom for building. theres been a few pics of build-spaces recently, so i figured i would show off mine.

i take all my coil pics under that lamp, on the corner of my coilmaster kit. its kinda hard to see, but i marked out inches/feet all the way across the front of the desk to measure wire. the swivel and drills can be moved and clamped down on the front or back side of the desk. the hand drill is currently in a vise, and clamped to the desk. i put my power drill in there too when i can use it (so loud, i live in a condo with retired people on all sides, and i mostly build after midnight)...i put a laser pointer in the drill chuck and align it with my swivels before i clamp it all down. i dunno if that helps anything, but it feels pretty futuristic

the wire is mounted on a piece of cardboard with foam on the back that was in the box my tv came in. it took about ten mins to set up and mount on the wall with thumb tacks.

Had my first go with dragon skin coils today considering it looks like an easier build it's actually really diifcult to get a consistent skin look on the wire at the pliers stage!

Method I used today

1) wrapped 34gNi80 over 24g as a clapton then decored
2) Stretch decore about 2.5times then fed through the middle of the decore 28gKA1 round wire
3) Make 3 equal lengths and twist together opposite way to the clapton
4) slap some juice on the now twisted wire and run toothless pliers along the length 3 times to push the clapton flat

I normally take a few shots a day of a build over 4-5 days. But really need to start doing it in a day.

Also had a go with a variation on the staggered fused clapton today pretty pleased with it

2x26g KA1 core staggered with 36g
Fused with twisted 38g

I didn't get enough 38g off the spool when twisting the wrap so didn't have enough for two coils ...ahh well gonna wack this is the Pharoah maybe take off a wrap or two to bring resistence down a little

Staggerton #2 annnd I wrecked it during wraping heh (though salvaged as a 4 wrap(3.5). I normally just wrap by hand with my screwdriver but this time I tried holding toothless pliers on one end of the wire and the screwdriver in the same hand to get a tighter wrap but in pulling it tight (a little too tight I think) the ribbon got all funky on me. first time this has happened for me. Oh well I didn't make enough for dual coil anyway, so its just an excuse to build more.

28g ka1 frames, 6ply .4ka1, 36g n80. Got some .3 ribbon and 38g N80 coming cant wait to try some variations there.

Hm is the pic messed up? Shows up on my screen, but I've been having trouble uploading them in my browser getting errors using IE11 or whatever. Will probably just use the opera browser from now on. Btw nice staggered fused, never thought of twisting the fuse wire so that's new to me, and always looking for inspiration and new ideas.
Also anyone ever done an alien wrap over just ribbon and if so what would you use to Clapton the decore around? I know its 1/3 of the final cores but say you wanted to alien wrap over 8 ply .3 or .4, 30g perhaps?

You mean a classic staple coil with alien wrap? Never seen that before, but why not? Should be possible.
It is a bit of trial and error, but my experiments with framed staple aliens showed that smaller decores produce a "flatter" alien. Hope you get what I mean, the "swoops" won't be that aggressive and with too small decore you hardly can tell a difference to a normal wrap.
So when you use 8ply 0.4 your core will be about 0.8mm wide, so one third would be 0.26mm or 30GA like you mentioned.
I would recommend 32GA (0.32mm) because I think this will give a much better wrap. Stretch till your decored Clapton shows 90 degree angles and you should be fine.

The problem is that the "one third rule" doesn't work here. So when you use normal three core 26GA your core will be 1.2mm wide and 0.4mm thick.

8ply 0.4 ribbon will be 0.8 mm wide and 0.4mm thick. So you have no 1to3 ratio but a 1 to 2 ratio.

BUT if you use 9ply of 0.3 you will get the same 1 to 3 ratio. It would be 0.9mm wide and 0.3mm thick, like a core of three 29GA (0.3mm). So in this case a decore of 29GA should work perfect. If it would fit your needs.

Nice tip, yeah was wondering about just classic staple with alien wrap. Aliens were what I learned right after fused claptons so I have a lot more experience with them. Just made a stick of framed staple alien today for my engine. I am interested in trying just a staple with an alien wrap though but I don't currently have 30g but do have 32g. I think I saw them in a Mike Vapes video on youtube, they were coilology coils or something that were 8 ply .3

Attempted to do @Whiskeywarrior 's build today ....thanks for the help in PM so far mate

The squalien coil with an inlay to run something round the middle once coiled up

The coil so far consisted of:

10ply 0.4x 0.1 ribbon wire stacked

2 x 28g frames on top of the stack towards the edges (vertical way) to create an inlay (not to the side like a framed coil)

Wrap with 36g decore clapton

All went well except when I went to coil it ...what a poxy mess was completely deflated after this epic 4 hour build

no matter what I tried it instantly would bend one side or the other....I don't know if the frames on top were making it even harder to bend the verticle stacked ribbon? I refuse to be beaten by this any ideas how to coil this one up?

...the alien wrap went on ok and frames stayed in place was so happy with it until that happened

The first one I did with ribbon came out like that and several after. It's all good just keep at it. The ribbon just wants to lay down instead of bend. Keep it straight as you can and don't let it have any play if you can. That is a hell of a first try, bravo.

I am right placing the frames on the stack, with the stack laying vertically rather than horizontally?
It would coil a hell a lot easier if the ribbon was laying flat

You are right. It definitely would be easier but not how Staples are supposed to be. I'm sure it would vape around the same. You can also make them with all wire, made plenty of those.

Best RTA/RDTA in the World...IMHO anyway...the Merlin RDTA.
5mm x 5mm postholes, this is more width for wire then even my Norris N30 and G2 Seminole. Its the most thought out RDTA that Ive seen yet and Im very happy to have been there sine the first drawing of it. I loved the Beta and Pre-production model so much I bought the others when they were released, this one here is the newest version, the Rose Gold Edition.

Some really wide All Ribbon SSFC's installed, 4ply .3R/42TMN80 Staggered Frames and a 12ply .3R Core. Skip Fused with 42TMN80.

So theres 20ply there and atleast 8ly worth of room left over....Ive already asked for Augvape to make a RDA featuring the same deck but use the new Druga topcap....it would be the best RDA ever....again this is only my opinion.

Then one of my favorite Single Coil RTA's, the CP RTA by ADVKen.

2 Stacks of 6ply .3R/36g 316L/.3 x .3N80 Square Wire/ Fused with 36g 316L

Schizopart won coilwars, my team mate and n.devine placed 2nd and third. They are doing monthly "Battles" on Instagram and Staggering is this months challenge....the crazy ;art is almost every day or 2 Ive entered something....The Skill is my favorite RDA so I know exactly how you feel about that but having a second setup with the MErlin RDTA is pretty handy. Im rocking the Clack/Gold Merlin RDTA on my Lethal Box and my Skill on my Brass/Black Broadside Mix ith a Brass Trinity Magnum Tip....its quite the pairing.

So some stuff Ive been making, Ive got some crazy shit I want to post but my sons usingthe phone right now so i cant take the pics off it..

Quad Paraclapped 6PLY .3R/46g Core, Framed with 6PLY .3R+28g +4PLY .3R/40g Skip Fused to seal it all up. I found that 4 strands of 46g takes up the same amount of space as 40g skip fusing so this went together really well, almost a Groove Fused Center...

I just got the Skill and the Seminole in the mail last week, but haven't had a chance to build on them yet. The whole time I was trying to squeeze that Clapton Helix in the Reload I posted above, I was thinking of how much nicer the RDA would be if it had "Skill Style" posts due to having to install one Coil after the 1st one is in place.

@raymo2u it looks like you are half a step away from alien pitchforks dude. i tried the alien stagg a while ago and my hand spacing was hilariously bad. i got the second pass in between the first one, but they were all too far apart and janky. i also wrecked most of the second pass just trying to find tension. any idea if the loop trick works on aliens? seems like if the first pass was properly spaced it would be a lot easier to get the second one...

I made a new series of Staggertons. The 3D Stagg Series.
Building a normal staggerton can be fun but once you've made just about everything there is you can get kinda bored recreating things you've done 10 times over, so I decided I would add another layer and then try and find a way to make it even more complicated and challenging.

Version #1:

Bottom Staggered Staple is 12ply .3R/42TMN80, Top is 6ply 3R/42TMN80, Top is framed with .3N80 Square Wire and then Top can Bottom Framed with 4ply .5R/42TMN80, all Skip Fused with 42TMN80.

Version #2:

Similar to the first ith the Top and Bottom Stacks but the Outer Frames are .3R instead and the entire bottom is skip fused together anf then the top stack is skip fused in the final gap of the bottom.

Some beautiful builds here. I can't even begin to compete, but this is my first attempt at something somewhat flashy. Forgive me if it's been done before, but I've yet to see it myself.
It's a fused clapton with 2 x 26ga kanthal core, 30ga kanthal wrapped, then with 24ga kanthal coiled around the outside. It's 2.0mm inside diameter and the wire size, all wraps included, is about 2.0mm as well.
I call it.. The Deacon

@raymo2u Mind = Blown. Really like the concept of your 3d stags can't decide which one looks better. It's badass how the .5R frames are somewhat diamond shaped when you look at it from a certain angle in #1(plus that square wire is dope) and #2 looks damn clean all fused up, really amazing staggertons. Also those alien stags are just nuts haha. Also do you use round wire for the decore on the alien staple? I'm pondering about how to make just an alien staple (no frames).

I do for the ones I vape, I make a normal 3x28g/36g Alien but spae the alien wrap (try for 1mm spacing) and then frame it with 8g and fuse with a 24g/36g decore. They ohm out to about .09 with a 4 wrap/3mm Id and they re my favorite vape for a tube mod.

Ahh I see now, for some reason I thought the core of your alien stag was only ribbon with an alien wrap over it, but I see at least from that pic its framed ribbon. Was wondering about just a plain staple coil with an alien wrap over it, if it was possible. Only because I've never vaped just a staple without frames yet. I think if I do decide to make one now it will be inspired by your staggertons with ribbon frames. Once I get the hang of regular staggertons that is (mainly para-Clapton on ribbon). Just got some .3R and a good supply of 38g to practice. Might go for an 8ply fralien to start, never been able to go past 6 ply before with my .4R due to ohm-ing out so low on dual coil. I do have a DNA250 but haven't pushed anything below .1 That is a great idea though I may practice spaced aliens with a round wire core because I do eventually want to build up to that amazing looking/vaping alien stag!
