Typically you should avoid ebay and amazon for batts. There are some good sellers of batts on ebay, but imo it is just easier to go to a trusted site like the ones linked above.
I would avoid them simply on the basis of the misrepresentation by the seller that they're "35 A Discharge".

You talk it down, then offer another retailer .. mm hmm The ones I got are genuine 30+A *shrug*
Again, there is seller protection on ebay. The O.P.s original post sounded like they had trust issues with Amazon/Ebay .... shop there with confidence, there are buyer protections, return policies, and probably better customer service than anyone else. Feedback tells all if the seller is good or not.

The good ones write actual specs not trumped up garbage.
The sellers usually just repeat the supplier's specs.
Sony claims 30A for the VTC4. Mooch gave it a 23A CDR, but a 30A rating for vaping. No matter what batt I'm buying, or where I'm buying it, I always check Mooch's testing. That's the first lesson I learned on VU.

Ebay is best avoided for batteries. There are a few vendors that sell on Ebay that are reputable, but they also have other stores to buy from. There have been plenty of cases of fakes on Ebay, which is enough to make me avoid it.
I use illumn or liion and I get 9-12 batteries each time. Only go with the name brand vape recommended batteries but I choose whichever is on sale. I do 9-12 because it gives me free shipping and I'm a cheap bastard.

As I mainly vape regulated mods, I go for whichever is available cheapest here in the UK from 2500-3000MAH for my needs at 20A.I use illumn or liion and I get 9-12 batteries each time. I have a LOT of batteries, because of the size of my collection, and most of my recent batteries have been LG HE4's as they was the cheapest at the time I bought them.
A bonus is I find these to work well in my tube mechs too at the resistance I build-0.25-0.3 with dual 26G SS coils. I did used to buy Sony's for their better voltage under load, but in my actual use I don't find a real difference. Maybe if I was pushing my batteries very hard I would, but I find a 25R or HE4 to be perfect for me in a mech.
It is. When I first started, I DID buy a set of Sony VTC4's from Ebay. I also even bought some Efests (I hear the gasps already lol). The Sony's were luckily fine, and worked great in my high power box mods. Well high power at the time, the OG sig 150 and mods around that time.
The Efests turned out to be LG HG2's, but the wrapper said 2900MAH, and 35A.
I did know that they was unlikely to be 35A, but I believed for a while they was fantastic batteries. That was until Jon at Li-ion wholesale got some in too, I got them a little before him. He did explain they was probably 20A batteries, but was not sure at the time what they were.
The placebo effect can be very real, as I owned some LG HG2's and thought these batteries hit harder in my mechs. Obviously they didn't, which is why I am always skeptical of claims now until I actually try something- high end mechs are the main thing I am suspicious of now as I know from trying the real vs clone there is not a difference, at least not one to me.
I'm guessing you're in the UK. @Vaping With Vic recommends a place called next day batteries for over there. He says they are the cheapest and I tend to find his YouTube reviews spot on. You've probably already gotten batteries by now but just something to keep in mind.

OMG. ha. ebay sellers are good people, usually, are there some scammers out there selling shit, yes. Do your due diligence as a buyer and you won't have problems. (hint; feedback)
The 25R is most definitely not a 35A battery, where did you hear this? It is a 20A CDR cell, that can be pushed further like all cells when pulsed, but not a 30 or 35A battery. Only mentioning as a lot of new vapers read here, I would not want them to think it is safe to run them at 35A.
I do understand where you are coming from in regards to feedback, but the majority of people would not be able to tell a genuine battery from a fake, so the feedback system is not really a good thing to go by. Fakes are getting exceptionally good and hard to spot. Most people are good like you say, but there is probably a lot of ebay sellers that are unintentionally selling fakes too.
If you was ordering from someone such as torchy on there, then things would be fine.
I am in the UK, so in regards to people who are looking for batteries here, a few places I use are Fogstar, very good value, and batteries plus. Batteries plus sells all sorts of batteries, not just 18650's.
Not at all- batteries plus is a battery superstore, then there is NKON.NL which is another huge trustworthy site. Fogstar is a smaller company, none of them are my personal friends.
It is up to you though, if you want to risk it, when you are aware of the risks with the huge number of counterfeits on the market, it is your choice. It is just not good advice to give to new vapers, similar to how you would not tell a new vaper to use a mech mod with a 0.1 Ohm build.
Also saying the 25R is a 35A battery is wrong, if a new vaper read this it could cause problems for them. By any chance are you new to vaping? It may be you do not yet realise the scale of counterfits, and I suspect it may be the case thinking the 25R is a 35A battery.
We just want everyone to be as safe as possible, staying away from fake batteries is one way of doing this.
To be technical, a Samsung 25R is NOT 35 amp batteries. There are no 35 amp CDR batteries.
If you like to gamble. Or you can go with a KNOWN and TRUSTED source for something like vaping batteries.
