Am I the only one who hasn't dabbled with TC??

I have two mods with the FSK chips. I vape Kanthal with the FSK TC always on those mods. Smoothest most consistent kanthal vape I've experienced. Everything else I use is power mode including Yihi and DNA chips. I happen to like building with Kanthal.

So, having an Smok Alien with a Big Baby Beast, how easy would it be to switch between watt and temp modes with SS (other than through the menu). What's the difference in resistance between SS and kanthal? I'm just wondering because if I made an SS coil and couldn't figure out a decent setting for TC, it would be nice to jump over to watts without having to build/replace the coil.

Doesn't work for me. I work outside and the changes in ambient temp really screw with TC. I'll stick to wattage mode. One thing that looks cool though is the Curve mode that Asmodus is doing in the new Minikin Boost. I may try that when those mods are readily available.

All of my Regulated Mods have TC and I've never used it.. I'd rather Vape than Tinker away. I've always wanted to try and get a few good TC settings down for different builds but it I'm just too impatient after I install and wick Coils :/

I wasn't a big fan of TC as well before I got my first G2 and the cool people in the G2 thread taught me how to use it. My FSK mods are in TC 99% of the time, all my other mods alternate between TC and power mode, mostly the latter.

Like others have mentioned for low watt vapers I think the benefit of TC is low. I generally like thick clouds but not too hot, with TC I can control it to be consitent throughout my 5 second or more pulls. I also like TC for the ramp up so I don't have to wait for my coils to heat up. My first hit is as good as my 4th hit, instant glowing coils.

TC just gives you more options to control your vape. I can totally understand why the majority of vapers are power users though, that is what I was until I got my first FSK mod.

I think a lot of people will try TC and just feel it is too tame, that was my initial impression of it. With TC in the user adjustable mode of the FSK chip called xXx I can make it hit harder than power mode, that's why I love it.

This is like Mounds v. Almond Joy. "Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't."

I got caught up in the DNA game for quite a while, and I accumulated more than a couple DNA 200 devices along the way. Really got it dialed in nice and had some really enjoyable vapes with them. But I've long since gone back to basics with Kanthal/NiChrome builds, ususally sitting on top of a Hexohm v3 or occasionally a tube mech. Couldn't be happier. For me, TC is just too digital. I like the analog feel of kanthal/nichrome on a higher-end regulated mod or, better yet, a mech.

TC --> CD
Power/Watts --> Cassette
Mech --> Vinyl

The progression-

mech -> VV -> VW-> TC
~
counting fingers -> abacus -> calculator -> computer

with the trend from limited control toward total control.

If you've tried TC on older/lessor hardware it may be worth another look with something newer/better and especially for SS. Materials with lower TCRs require much higher precision from the chip and the rest of the mod (510, wiring, pins, etc). Hence why they all started on Ni.

Sub $100 (even $60) mods are finally getting usable for accurate, reliable, and repeatable SS TC. Eventually the tech will get good enough to do the config for you, you can already mimic the soft mech power curve of a sagging battery, we're getting there...

Until they come up with a TC mod that lets you ramp up at 10w, I'm done trying it out. Anything more than that is just too damn hot.

I started early with TC and went back and fourth between TI and NI. I could never get a consistent vape from either wire and after a while, using Ni started to irratite my throat and I gave up on it. Then SS came along and the joyetech started rolling out the updates. It started to get better as time went on and I got back into it. Eventually, I got my first DNA and since then I do a majority of my vaping in SS TC.

5/6 wraps of K1 or Nichrome 80 at 25-35 watts (depending on the juice) is what me and my gear like. Its consistant and pleasing.

Sucking on TI oxide because a Chinese Microprocessor lost its cool and melted a coil mid drag is just SOOOO appealing too me!! (not)

I guess I'm stuck in the Stone ages of vaping as well.

I can't be bothered hassling with which atty has what wire in it. Kanthal did the trick for me and still working just fine so why change to create myself a headache. I really lack faith in cheap mod chips that you hope are doing what they are suppose to or you might inhale dangerous fumes...no not for me. I enjoy the K.I.S.S. method so why change that by adding all sorts of wires that require special conditions to perform properly.

I don't vape more than 18 watts and I don't see the need to fiddle with TC. I do have TC mods only because that's what's being produced. But I never use the TC modes. You're not alone by any means.

I think a lot of vapers get worried about TC mods taking over the market, but they don't realize that they are just VW mods with TC modes so you don't have to use them for TC if you don't want to. There is only one mod to date that I have seen that is a TC only mod and that was made by Innokin, but I can't remember what it was called.

I think that was the smart tc and apparently it sucked at TC.
