Yes I did do a search...
I'm pretty new to building and have spent a great deal of time working up many combinations on Steam Engine. Being a flavor chaser looking for a good volume of vapor, Why would I want to drive my ohms <0.5? In all of my builds and my varied addy's I have found that 0.5 - 0.8 ohms seems to deliver an excellent combination. In order to do more fancy builds, I have to drive the ohms way down. All I find that that does is make me burn through batteries quicker on my regulated mods (HexOhm 3.0 and Lavabox M 75). So, why push the lower limits of ohms? What benefits am I supposed to be gaining, mechanical and preferential? Yes, I will continue to build to my tastes but if I'm not understanding something correctly (building wrong or for the wrong purpose), I'd like to hear others thoughts.

Most importantly: if you like what you're doing then keep doing it :)
I build between . 1-.2 usually. For me it's about the heat. Building lower allows for much higher wattage, and I find the flavor to be much more intense with a warmer vape than with a cooler one.

You do realize the you can exceed the amp limit of even the BEST batteries at 1ohm. Any ohm actually. Feed a coil enough volts you will pull more amps than the battery is rated to supply.

That said I too can't understand why people.... need...to build as low as they do. Or desire to use the wattages they do...

Just seems a waste of juice too me.. both from the battery and the bottle.

No it doesn't allow you run higher wattage.. it does result in higher watts for a given voltage value.......

Bigger coils allow for higher wattages.

It's all in what you enjoy. Everyone has different point of enjoyment with vaping.

Some like to build exotic coils, which are artwork- those coils tend to have more metal and lower resistance. Some people like certain metals with lower resistance, others even- still prefer microcoils in the 1-2 ohm range. There are still others, like myself that get moody and bounce all over place.

There is no wrong way to vape, other than unsafe. You can vape unsafely regardless of your power setting or resistance used.
So long you have a good battery and build within its current limits, you're good to go.

As to the enjoyment, a general rule can be the more surface area of a coil you have, the lower the resistance will be, the more power you will need, the more juice will vaporize, the larger your cloud.

I must admit that I like my vapor to be "warm" and not so hot. I think that is what really got me into working with the .5 - .8 spectrum.

Been "Coiling" since 2011, people build LOW because it is there.
Basically use mechs & run .6 to 1.3, depending on mass & deck size.
I do use series mods too..

I found my favorite is .45 and 42.5 watts. Most builds that is my target. Two months ago I fell in love with single coil rebuildables. My duel coil rebuildable have become art on my vape stand. CHEERS!

I have landed very close to this myself. It seems that it is easier on everything in this range... builds, batteries, juice consumption, and my lungs :)
