Hi I have been vaping for a little over three years on and off. I really have not ever had a good mood and tank to sub ohm on but my birthday is next week and my wife ordered me the alien 220 kit and it should arrive by end of this week. Now my question is this I do still smoke the nasty cigarettes but when I do vape I have 10mg juice what my nic should I use while being able to sub ohm without burning my throat and chest but still give me the nic I need to calm my craving for a cigarette so I can hopefully finally throw them away for good? Any help will be much appreciated thx in advance

When I started subohm vaping, I had to immediately switch from 12mg to 6mg in order to avoid coughing and such. I can only speak from my personal experience, but hopefully that helps. Let us know how it works out for you!

The Alien kit will come with a Baby Beast tank, which will have sub-ohm coils in it. The recommended NIC level in a sub-ohm tank like that one is 6mg or less. The reason for this is because that tank will actually be delivering more vapor, which is also more NIC. You will notice that tank will go through juice much quicker than an MTL tank.
That's a nice kit and I love the Baby Beast tank. Most use 3mg nic but some like 6mg.

I would say that 6mg will be too much for ya but maybe not. Most who do the big subohm thing use 3 mg or less.
Was smoking 1.5PAD for 20+ years. Within a month I purchased my alien kit. I was using 12mg juice. I tried it in my BB tank and couldn't handle it. I dropped to 6mg and it was "kinda" harsh, but tolerable. I now use 3mg and love it. --- yes, my wife and I go through a SHIT ton of juice though. We DIY mix our juice, so i'm 100% OK with that because 1) I'm not smoking stinkies anymore 2) I feel 1000% better 3) If I would stop spending money on vape toys (mods, tanks, etc) I would be saving a LOT of money.
If you like the juice you currently have, you could purchase some of the exact same without NIC (0%) --- and then mix them together. That would dilute it down to half of original. Do it again until you get the % you are needing.
For the baby beast no more then 6mg.
If you feel a craving vape more.
As long as you're still smoking while vaping, you're going to have a craving for smoking when you're not.

How true, After 2+ years I still feel like a cigar or cigarette from time to time, but I bummed a cigarette a while back and hated it. YUCK
Every time I wanted a cig I'd vape and the craving would quickly go away. Doing that I was able to quit smoking the day I started vaping.

Thank you again for all your help I'm sure I'll be asking many questions on here about this set up as my wife also purchased the rba for the tank as well I do know how to make coils but only the simple ones nothing like these super builds I see lol and also thinking of getting into making my own juice so I don't blow threw as much money in juice as I was on cigarettes in my area juice tends to be expensive like almost $10 for 10ml in some shops and most don't even make it anymore you can only buy Pre made stuff
I know this is subjective, but as a vaper who smoked the last stinky the same day I started vaping, I believe that vaping and smoking should not be mixed and that it would just prolong the process and cravings.
I somewhat agree, and somewhat don't.
It took me two weeks to finally quit the stinkies 100% --- haven't picked one up since, but do have the urges -- specially under high stress, etc.
I think the biggest part is that you have to be dedicated 100% to actually quitting smoking, and not just telling yourself you will "eventually" quit and never do.
Set a date and stick to it. For some, that date may be that second, and for others it may be a year later. Everyone is different.
Yes I know I'm only smoking now because my current mod is on the fritz I have a little cov 40w and when ever I put on my tank with a new coil in it it will read the correct ohms then when I fire it the ohms start jumping all over the place and even the first hit tastes burnt I pull out the coil and sure enough it is fried so I'm hoping this new alien mod will work and I can put the stinky down for good I just don't have the will power to try cold turkey and my family will hate me if I tried lol

I stop & consider just some basic maths. I used to go through 2 cartons of cigarettes per month. Present, I think Marlboros are running around $60 per carton, generics might be $50. $60 * 12 = $720 annually per single carton per month. It's $1440 per two cartons per month. Let me figure rough estimates here. $40 for the CopperVape mod, ~$60 for the RDAS, another $20 for a battery charger, possibly about $20 for some wire, $10 for some wick, buying juice might be $100 per year. Roughly looking at $250 to maybe $275 on the high end for a year of vaping. $1440 - $275 = $1165 I have saved and bought around 6 to 8 RDA, a mod, charger, add in about $20 for batteries (there's my high end the forgotten batteries
), juice enough to get by a year. The next year, I just need $20 for another set of batteries, maybe $20 for some wire, $10 for some wick, $100 for bought juice. That's around $150 for the second year. $1440 - $150 = $1290 saved the second year. $1290 + $1165 = $2455 for two years savings, averaging roughly $1,500 saved per year. That doesn't take into account medical costs inferred with smoking cigarettes. I kind of count that as 'priceless'.
Now figure 10 of us vapers saving $1,500 a year. You get $15,000 a year that big tobacco has lost. Keep multiplying that in multiples of ten, you'll see how quick it adds up to serious MONEY they're loosing. Also big Pharama is loosing money too, people aren't getting sick off cigarettes. Lawyers are loosing as well, no one is suing for medical malpractice if they're not sick and seeing a doctor. Lawyers often become politicians ergo politicians are loosing money too.
Now you might understand why all the fear porn news about vaping. You might also understand how you're saving a lot more than you realize too while vaping. Even poor ass Appalachian like me saves money despite spending money on vaping. Plus I then get to stick around and pester my witch, erm, wife longer.
OMG!!! I wish I was only spending that much on stinkies p/month!!! Here is the math that I JUST killed off with myself and my wife quitting.
$500 p/month * 12 months = $6,000 p/year. --- and those were for generic smokes at $35 p/carton. We stopped the Marlboros when we moved to Florida and they actually have a mfg out of FL that tasted just like Marlboros. So, when we were smoking Marlboros you can almost double the p/year cost.

yeah its expensive vaping can be just as expensive if you go to the local B&M to get rapped by the Deliverance boy in the backroom making swamp thing juice at 18.00 for 30 mil though for some vaping is just as expensive if not more so if you chain Vape like I do

i started out with a sub ohm tank an 12mg juice. it was strong enough that i could get vaped out (that nicotine buzz) and even if i wanted a cigarette, having one would make me feel gross. that feeling lasts for up to an hour sometimes. when that started to wear off, i would start to 'need' a smoke, but if i vaped myself out again, i would be back in the position where a smoke would be bad. that loop took about a week to get me off tobacco completely.
i vaped like that for 7 months after i was over cigarettes, but i started to get that shinyitus thing that vapers get where hardware becomes addictive. the better hardware i got was a bit too powerful for 12mg, so i went to 6mg and its perfect for me. the guy at the vape shop was recoiling in terror watching me vape unregulated series on 6mg and he convinced me to try 3mg, but its not enough for me and i pretty much doubled my juice consumption and made it hard to put my vape down for even a few minutes. to me that was a problem, so i went back up to 6mg.

I will be willing to bet you will find now that you have better equipment you will get the same fell as as the cancer candles.You will see no need for them.When I got higher wattage gear the increased throat hit was the same as the cigars i was smoking and it just hit me,Why am I smoking??

I quit smoking the beginning of last month and straight to sub ohm. The baby beast tank the alien comes with (in the kit anyway) is a nice little tank. Back to your question, I started with 6mg/ml and dropped to 3mg/ml last week but I chain vape hard. 3-5 hits every 5-10 minutes and I was getting nic sick on 6mg pretty frequently. I wouldn't suggest going much higher than 6mg/ml personally and I was a 2pad Kamel Reds guy

Hi guys heres an update i got my kit for my birthday it ended up being the spiderman limited eddition colors. I love it and havent picked up a cigg now in three days. I have been using the rba section i got with it as im not a fan of the coils yet they seem to taste burnt to me for some reason but ive been using the pre installed claptons in the rba my question is how often should i change the wicking in it im still getting great flavor and vapor but dont know if there is a recommendation on how often to re wick. Thx againg for all info so far and any more in the future.
I've found 6mg to be too much for me so have gone done to 3 and going for 0. It depends on you though.
If it starts to taste wrong - dry burn and re-wick.
Really depends on juice and taste. Watch for flavor changes and then rewick. Mine, about three to four days but I go through about 30ml per day.

One more thing. I know several people who are very content with their 3 mg/ml most of the time but need higher NIC juice occasionally (bad day, whatever). They keep a bottle of higher NIC liquid with them and just drip a few drops directly on to the coil through the drip tip when they are feeling particularly stressed.
I've been vaping about 5 months and like just about everyone here I went from 18 to 6g once I got a regulated mod. I'm now using 5mg during the day and I don't vape that much. I can vape in my office, and do, but not much. When I get home I break out the drippers...I enjoy them more. Plus, I like tasting multiple juices in the evenings. However, I quickly realized that 5mg was kicking my ass. So I now make juice at 2mg for the dripper and can drip for hours. Damn, I love DIY!!
Stopped smoking the day I started vaping. Got a regulated mod with 6 mg juice. I was still wanting a cig so I went to 12mg and have been doing that for the first 3 weeks and it's working and not making me sick. I do have some 6mg that I am using in the evening but I find that in the morning the 12mg works best. My goal is to reduce NIC level slowly. Smoked for 42 years and don't want to start again . Everyone is different I guess
