Problems regarding Ceramics

Bought a 75w TC Target starter kit, and I have to tell you; I was absolutely blown away by the flavor and performance! Battery management was also very stress free. Based off of reviews, the ceramic coils that came with the Kit is safe to say the best flavor experience/sustainable with out coil replacement I have ever had:

But, the day came that i needed to replace the coil and clean the tank. Cleaning the tank was a major pain. But that set aside, time to add my new cCell .5 ss coil. I let it sit for a few hours. Started low watt, slowly working up to that magic 30 watt setting, tasted good but a little dry. Now every vape, a residual burnt taste is always there. Used different juices, all lightly colored, between 50/50-60vg/40pg-70vg/30pg-80vg/20pg. Always getting dry hits. I believe it is because the cCells have very small wicking holes on top of the slow absorbing ceramic. One thing I noticed on the kit coils is that the cotton was on the outside, drawling liquid from larger bored holes. The cCell pack uses hexagonal slots with a piece of steel redirecting the juice to the sides. This I believe makes a good wick impossible.

Is there any possible way to buy a pack of the Kit coils?

Just recently purchased some Coilart .5ohm coils from a sketchy website called smokehouse.us
Is coilart going to save me from my issue? The liquid holes seemed designed similarly.

What is the best ceramic coils that I can use with this mod and tank that I love so much with the same if not better experience I had when first getting this kit?

Thanks for your time.

I don't use coils enough to proclaim any "expertise".

However, of the coils and such that I have used, I find using manufacture AUTHENTIC stuff, leads to a good vape. I have known two people locally that have the target and the ceramic coils. One purposely abused it to see if he could get it to burn the coil. It didn't.

My recommendation, on my limited knowledge of the setup, would be to use their coils only.

The Coil Art option is supposedly good.

Also, Aspire Atlantis, Triton, and the new Atlantis EVO coils should work in the Target tank, though they are not ceramic. The EVO coils are 0.4 or 0.5 Clapton. Triton coils such as 0.3 or 0.4 stainless steel, or 0.5 Clapton.

So from the other coils that fit in the tank, which of those would you say promotes the best flavor. Also, trying to not go anything less than .4 ohms. Anything greater will probably heavily drain my batteries.

I would try the .9 ccells. I've had many excellent coils but a few just never seem to wick efficiently. These ceramics take a few tanks to break in it seems. I had zero luck with the .5s. The .9s have served me well!

Ah so the .5 ss doesn't wick well but the .9s kanthal seems to wick more efficiently? Very good info to know. Wonder why this is?

Anyways, I don't know why they would send the coils with cotton at the wick holes and they were larger holes aswell(worked extremely well) would be sent with your kit. And, what they sell seperately is this five pack of .5 ohm cCells (with hexagonal intake) has been a bad experience...
*Checked authenticity, they are*....
I wish I could buy the ones that came with the kit. That was a very pleasant time...

I agree that the .9 produce great flavor WHEN THE DAMN THINGS WORK!
You may get one good coil in a 5 pack.
You may get four good ones in a 5 pack.
I've used over 35 of these 5 packs so far from multiple sources.
It's a surprise in every package.
No way to know how many good ones you're going to get.
But when they do work, they are awesome.
Other tanks that have coils that'll align;
(some tanks need top inner threads, some top outer threads, some need no top threads at all however I don't know what your tank needs)
Amigo Donner 22 - 4ml - Bottom Fill
Anyvape Fury Tank - 5ml - Top Fill
Anyvape SegaTank - 4.5ml - Top Fill
Anyvape Peakomizer 2.0 Mega Sub -
Aspire Atlantis Mega - 5ml - Bottom Fill
Aspire Atlantis V1 & V2 -
Aspire Triton V1 & V2 -
Beyond Vape Silo Beast - 5ml - Top Fill
EHPRO & Eciggity Morph Tank - 4.8ml
Eleaf iJust2 - 5.5ml - Bottom Fill
Eleaf Lemo 3
Eleaf Melo - 5ml - Bottom Fill
Eleaf Melo2 - 4.5ml - Side Fill (top)
Eleaf Melo 3
Eleaf Melo 3 Mini
Freemax Starre - 5ml - Bottom Fill
Freemax Starre Pro - 4ml - Top Fill
Gigue Aeolus Mini
Gigue Aeolus Tank
Ovancl Espole
Playboy Vixen
Science of Vaping Eclipse
Sense Herakles
Smokme Subverter Mini
Sunone Sking Square
Thunderhead Creations-Thunderstorm Tank
Tobeco Super Tank - 4.5ml - Top Fill
Tobeco Super Tank Mini - 4ml - Top Fill
Vapmod X-Tank 2, 3, 4
Vapeston Maganus
Vapor DNA Project Sub Ohm Saucecode
Vaporesso Gemini
Vaporesso Target
Vapor-Tek Morpheus
Vapor-Tek Morpheus V2
There are a few more now but I have not kept this list updated.
So excluding the top threading, all of these tanks have interchangeable coils.
Just testing the coils for the Vapmod X-Tank 2, 3, 4 (.2 and .6) and so far they are producing some pretty good flavor.
First .6 I tried just bubbled but second was fine.
The .2 seems to be doing well with great flavor.
I'm using the Eleaf Melo III to test these coils on a Smok Alien 220.
The .6 is rated 50-90 and seemed best for me between 75-80 watts.
The .2 is rated 90-130 and seems best right at 100 watts.
So far....

Since Target coils work in Atlantis, I assume the Target needs top threaded coils that fit the chimney. That might limit him to Vaporesso, Aspire Atlantis or Atlantis EVO, Aspire Triton, and some of the Coil Art and Vaporwerx coils. There are surely others, but check the coil shape to make sure same at the top.

The Aspire coils are available at any vape shop. Upon request, I would try to buy individual coils, so not committing to a full pack yet. Not the Atlantis 0.3 kanthal, that one needs more power.

The Herakles Honor 1.8 that also fits Herakles V1 is probably topic for another thread. Great flavor coil, but doesn't top thread into chimney. Worthwhile, but it would much cheaper to experiment with a few Triton coils.

With further testing I can say the Playboy Vixen .1 Ni200 coils do NOT work in the Herakles Plus and barely work in the Tobeco Super Tank (original)
If you over tighten it, you'll get just enough threading to make it work.
In my case I have an aftermarket over sized bubble tank so I wasn't concerned of breaking it since it isn't glass.
The coils are too tall for the Herakles Plus and almost too short for the Tobeco Super Tank (original)
However they do work in the Freemax Starre Pro.
Obviously with the coils being 0.1 there will be limitations on what mods will be able to utilize them.

Friend of mine ordered me Krixus uses ceramic coils came with two. Any good? Vapenw had them in clearance section 5 bucks 25% off. Spilt shipping so cost all if 5 bucks. Checked vapenw site yesterday they changed everything around raised price up to 10 and said 25% off will not work on items priced 5,10,15 dollars.

I highly suggest you dont vape ceramic. UWELL even put out a statement stating what many have been saying all along, the glass silica used leaves undetectable particles to the human eye when touched, and in general breaks up on its own. You end up inhaling the glass particles into your lung which cannot be removed. I cant fathom why some of you would risk that. To me a proper clapton coil beats a ceramic on flavor anyway, so why even use ceramics?

Uwells survey/informational bulletin basically stated that no such technology currently exists to manufacturer a safe ceramic coil.

I personally didn't care AT ALL for the Krixus.
I think it is a POS.
That being said, naturally it is a subjective opinion.
When they work I really did like the .9 cCell.
I just didn't find it worth the time and effort to get a good coil.

Hey I know I'm wicked late to this but I have the same problem. I bought the Target Pro kit, loved both of the coils which were 0.5 and 0.6 SS so I thought I should get a pack of the 0.6 that I liked the best. The ones in the kit had cotton visible thru circular wicking holes whereas the ones I ordered have hexagonal holes w/ metal behind them which is just stupid imo. It's almost like they want u to get a dry hit what with having juice control on the Pro tank (rarely do u see that on a sub ohm, only RTAs) and metal behind the tiny wicking holes. So anyway, my solution...it's kinda ghetto but it worked for me. Just did it tonite and it's been working great. I took a knife & cut those pieces of metal forming the hexagons out and then I kinda just pushed in on the metal behind them. Now I'm actually seeing air bubbles coming out which I tried to make happen before by taking dry pulls with the airflow closed to no avail. So it's working for me & I'm gettin that great cCell flavor again. Oh and the Vaporesso EUC coils are my next purchase but make sure to get them with a sleeve so they work in the target tank. Vaporider has the set with the sleeve. Just Google euc coils + sleeve + adaptor and u should find a site that sells em. They're ceramic too and they have clapton ones also. A 10-pack is only like $10 too. Hope I helped this late lol

for what it's worth.....I vaped for about a year on ceramics....not these coils but, the first generation of ceramics,,,the fc-2000 porous ceramic wicks which were made for gennys....there was a group of us on ecf that even made our own ceramic wicks,as it was very difficult to get commercial wicks....there was a guy there that even developed a ceramic for making wicks with...honestly I'd use the vaperoso stuff, but I just don't trust anything from China..From this experince I thought I'd offer a few things we learned about using ceramics.....1) you may try and put your new wicks in an ultrasonic cleaner and clean and dry them before using them...this removes dust that maybe in the wick that is clogging the pores of the ceramic......when we installed a new wick, we always let it sit for three hours before using them and in my experince I never used a ceramic wick that I didn't let sit in the juice for at least overnight before firing it up....later some of us went further and started milling a ceramic wick for the Kayfun lites that were around...this was the first attempt at ceramics in a tank..and I have to say it worked very well, but again I never fired up a ceramic wick in my kayfun that hadn't sat in juice at least for overnight.

The delay is fine. Any information is useful if someone else is struggling with the same issue, searches for it, and lands here. I however solved my issue referring to another forum on the matter. Apparently, some of these coils become air-locked because of manufacturing anomalies. To fix the issue, unscrew the top fill lid slightly till you see bubbles. Then Voilà, delicious flavor, no burnt hits. Problem with this, make sure you tighten the top fill lid again after use. It will start to flood. And, nobody like juice in their pocket hahaha

.9 ohm seems to work the best of the different types. And leaves you at a good spot with battery consumption. :) Thank you for your insight!

Thanks for the info peeps. I've decided to give up on the cCell coils because those hexagonal wicking holes are just impossible to get juice thru esp cuz I use 70-90VG blends, it just won't wick at all. I'm ordering the ceramic EUC coils by Vaporesso which are the same formula as the cCells basically but they just don't have that metal sleeve on the outside. Oh and a 10 pack is about $8-12 everywhere which is awesome. Also I'm thinkin of ordering the CoilArt monster kit which has 15 different coils for all BVC type tanks (Atlantis, vaporesso, Triton, Playboy, etc). It has 5 temp control ones, 5 different clapton coils and 5 different twisted coils. Found a (hopefully) authentic pack on a Chinese site for $18 so for 15 Coilart coils that's a steal. I just ordered a Freemax Starre Pure cuz I heard that is THE BEST flavor tank around (if anyone has used the Starre Pure please let me know what u thought) and I also ordered the iJoy Exo RTA cuz I love the Ammit-like single coil deck plus it has a velocity deck and a 6ml option which is sweet. Oh and it has a little airflow reducer like I think it was the Merlin mini had. So I'm excited for those 2 tanks. After I finish playing with those I'll go back to my Target Pro probly and find out if those EUC coils work well.

The Pure is excellent! Both coils perform excellent.

As far as the coil art ceramics, I have them and am not that impressed, the flavor is ok, but not anything to write home about. The Pure is far superior with both flavor and vapor.

I also have the estoc mega and find that it is a nice tasty vape.
