...And my heart beats so that I can barely speaaaaaaak!

After thinking $7 for a 30mL bottle was a great deal, then thinking $13-20 for a 120mL was a great deal... here I am at my coffee table, which looks like an industrial chemistry lab right now, making 30mL bottles for about $1.80 a pop.

I'm a cheapass! How have I not done this before!?

I went with Vape Wild because I have trusted them for premade ejuice for years now. $51 got me enough to make 28 bottles, maybe more... math comes to about $1.80 per bottle.

My first was a vanilla/mocha/coffee thing which I will hereafter refer to as "Intergalactic." I LIKE MY SUGAR WITH COFFEE AND CREAM! (you Gen-X'ers get it)

This is fun, this is cheap, this is good. I will still buy premixed, but the days of brick and mortar paying ten fold are GONE.

Ooooohhhh, just wait.....it gets better.....and soooo much deeper.....
Eventually you will have to have a room in your house/apartment dedicated to your new "art." There will be flavor orders...many, many flavor orders. Only one blueberry flavoring? Two types of strawberry? Noooo, no, no, no, no.....there are so many vendors, so many types of the same damn flavor, and you have to have them all. Every...single...one...
And base fluids, can't run low on those! Dammit man, the FDA is gonna shut us down so when that nicotine is on sale you're gonna stock up! And you'll need a separate freezer for that stuff! And it must be filled to the brim! More PG and VG and NIC - OH MY!!!!
Your eyebrows will instantly go up when a recipe is posted ANYWHERE. The forum...Facebook...Reddit...next thing you know, you'll be transforming actual food recipes into juices and calculating percentages in your head and carrying a notebook for ideas and...and...

Don't worry, the whole vaping thing can turn into a major hobby very quickly. You start out small with an inexpensive rig and the next thing you know you have shelves of mods, tanks, and DIY stuff. I need to join vapors anonymous and get some help but I am having too much fun. Good luck with your new obsession.

People (in general) are lazy and give up easily. DIY comes easier to some than others. My first mixtures were not good... And I still have a lot of duds. But I am also really picky and have even worse luck finding premixed eliquids that are any good to me...
I'm glad you're having luck quickly and enjoying it... Congrats.

Uh yeah, I'm past that point...
Three mods, two RDAs, Four tanks, and I think I need another mod. :D.

It's already a hobby, now it's becoming an obsession

Hey, just curious as to what you think changed? Better recipe selection, mixing technique or your ability to generate your own recipes. I have never been good at making my own recipes, but I think I'm getting better at looking at a recipe and determining if it's something I might like.

My biggest mistake was trying to jump ahead. (still is) The best method, IMO when you first get flavors is to find out their ideal percentages by themselves. Sometimes when you guess and jump into a recipe with other flavors without testing the single flavors first, it can be a disaster. It's a tedious process testing every flavor individually but in the end, I think it's worth it.

That is a good answer. Due to laziness I guess, I've never done that except for flavors (few and far between) that I might consider a stand alone. I guess I was hoping good recipe selection would enable me to avoid that. The flaw in the logic is it lets me know what is the right percentage for that creator, not necessarily for me. Thanks for the comeback.

Right... And my problem is that my preferred percentages are almost ALWAYS half what that person uses, sometimes even less than that. When I try to mix other people's recipes, it helps to know at least one of the flavors that I know which percentage works for me, that way I can divide the other flavors to the same degree/amount if that makes sense...

I struggle not to purchase flavors. I want them ALL. However, PA instituted the 40% tax for vape stuff and penalties for those who go around them, so I will ship to my work in a neighboring state only when absolutely needed. Currently sitting at around 40 flavors, but I can see myself having 3 times that easily.

Hey, tell 'em you're a hard core candy making hobbyist. It's Bull City Flavors now anyway, though that won't help you with hardware.
And Rin Vapes, it makes perfect sense. You really do have it down to a science. I certainly have learned how to go about refining my method from this exchange. I sincerely appreciate it. And it's very timely, as I've purchased flavors to really try and nail down a Titan (Blue Dot) clone.

i find i mostly vape individual flavours, which makes things easier. maybe time will change that though!

I've actually got a handful that I prefer as single flavors - Top Vapor grape, Flavorah Irish cream, TFA mocha - and a couple more that I found I really enjoyed "as is" when testing them.
Contrary to popular opinion, a juice doesn't have to contain 12+ ingredients mixed in a silver chalice on a full moon and a 298 day steep stored in an Albanian root seller while in an ultrasonic cleaner attached to a saw-zall always facing north on the magnetic stir plate. I'm a firm believer in K.I.S.S....sometimes it is what it is. And when I read of people crying "My mixes all taste bad!", I have to wonder what they're actually concocting. "Complex" mixes are fine, but not for the average beginner. Vape what tastes good to you.

I agree and utilization of a "Black Chicken" should be considered only by more advanced mixers.

You forgot the standing on your head part;).

I need far more mixing experience before I can even dream of advancing to that degree of skill level.

I started DIY about 2 months ago. I get giddy when I look in my storage closet and look at the 40+ 30ml bottles waiting to be vaped. I love it!

Nice to hear you are enjoying the DIY :).

I have gone DIY pretty much from the get go, when I got my first box mod (A sigelei 30W mini). When I used Ego's I did use cheap, corner shop juice though-yuk!

I still make pretty simple mixes most of the time, I enjoy the flavours I can get, a favourite of mine is Solub Arome's Mothers milk V1, it is cheap at around £8 for 100ML's of concentrate, and is my favourite flavour.

I am quite odd though, in that I enjoy this flavour fresh, as in no steep. I have tried it with a proper steep, but actually prefer the fresh taste, which is fine by me as I just make up 30 ML at a time in small batches when I fancy some.
I have stocked up on nicotine, got 2 Litres of 72MG in the freezer due to the TPD here in the UK.

Yeah, I just made my third DIY order in a week. will probably have 35 flavors to work with when all is said and done. Plenty of VG, PG, and Nic base (I went for 60mg) to last a while. Thanks for the good word!
