Hi everybody!

Totally new on the site and just to throw it out there the community is just a big ball of great helpful people so I send out the love to y'all!

Anyway, I'm trying to build on my new Kaze V2 from Aria x CKS and I just can't help feeling a bit worried about it getting hot. Sometimes so hot I can't touch it! I'm rocking a Dotmod Petri lite mech and have been building for quite a while with Sony VTC5A with a 0.24ohm 3strand twisted kanthal build. I'm very familiar with electrical theory because of studying it at uni so I've got ohms law down. I have a CSMNT RDA too which works fine with the same setup.

However since it gets really hot I'm worried that it migh be shorting. After just a couple of drags it gets very hot. My ohm meter shows 0.24ohm and sure, the mod gets warm but since the RDA is so hot I just assume that it is residual heat.

Anyone have any experience with this RDA?

Much love

You have a coil running at 600 or so degrees.... it's going to make things hot..... if not you get no vapor. It's called heat transfer. You could add a heat sink to draw some heat out of the atty.

Now if the batteries are also getting hot then you have an electrical problem..

Heat at the firing button should be a causefor concern..
If the heat is from electrical current yes... if from simple heat transfer not so much.

It's important to determine source of heat.

Simple solution to too much heat is less wattage or smaller coil or more air or all of the above.

Wow, didn't expect replies that fast...

I'm certain that the heat comes from the atty... I'm just worried that is because of something else than just the coils. The battery is not getting hot, just warmer from the atty I assume. The mod however is getting warm like a nice hand warmer. Any ideas?

Thanks for the replies people

The easiest way to know if the mech is heating up from the RDA or the battery is to pull the battery out when the mech is hot and feel it to see if it's hot.
