After my ipvmini I moved on to my vapor shark DNA 40, hated it but it did get me going on TC and I moved on. Still have it but haven't used it in a year or so. Now that I think about it that fucking thing was 200 bucks!!!!

the funny thing is, though I've tried lots of different things..I have no interest in regulated mods I love the simplicity and elegance of my mech tubes ,also though I've tried all kinds of atties I still rarely vape anything but gennys.

I went from eGos to a Cloupor Mini, then a KBox. Still have the Cloupor, even though I haven't used it in about a year and a half, but I can't seem to get rid of it - it was my first "big girl" mod....:teehee:

My first mod was an Evic VTC mini and second was an iStick 100w tc. Still have the Evic mini but gave away the istick to a smoker.

Bought an ipv 3 li with a Crown, following my first, an iStick 40 tcw with a kanger mini.

What is interesting is how much I paid for these at B&M's. First setup was $145 with a pack of coils, then $119 for the ipv and maybe $40 for the Crown. Today, half that amount or less would buy an Alien kit.

Hope that smokers today aren't still getting taken advantage of in vape shops. I went on to get a lot of stuff online once out for awhile, so it evened out over time.

Yesterday I grabbed a Herakles RTA-2 for $4.50 plus same for shipping and handling, and a Goliath V2 for $5. From Vaporworld out of okc, online sale. I think rebuildables are getting cheap since shops can't build anymore.

I feel the energy and traffic are down in vape shops near me, and I see fewer vapers in the wild. Hope it is just a New England thing, never a stronghold for vape.

I respect that. Got into chasing the latest thing for a while. Took about 6 or 7 yrs to figure out what it is I want as a vaper. So right now I am going back in time, so to speak, in terms of mods. Not a mech user but I also don't need 14000 watts either! More concerned now with reliability and quality. God forbid, I'm thinking Provari! Was into box mods before they ever became really popular. Used to own a Mister E Liquid Beast VV mod. Outside of some convenience issues and sans a lot of bells and whistles it could hold its own against anything I've owned since. I have been thinking of trying a genny again myself. If you have any good recommendations let me know.

It depends on your tastes..most genheads are real flavor junkies and they don't need alot of clouds, or do big direct lung hits..I like a restricted lung hit myself...so if you can enjoy mouth to lung or resricted lung hits I'd recommend the Pulse G by RM mods..as you know all atties... gennys and drippers back in the day came with a 1mm airhole and the user had to drill out the airhole to their own preference as time went by drippers started drilling out massive airholes, but alot of genny users got used to 1 to 1.5 mm airholes My Pulse I drilled out the wickhole larger and the airhole larger than stock.by just a little it has remarkable flavor, and a big plus to me is the Pulse you can pop out the center post, then wrap your wick like as IN'AX and then pop the center post in...for a more open vape with the option for more air and a larger wickhole for bigger clouds yet very good flavor I'd recommend Le Zephyr...

That's kinda how I feel about my Sigelei Zmax's.... the first one was a real workhorse, my first year as a vaper. Since I vape at such low wattage, those 2 would still be just fine for my use, I just prefer box mods now -- but I'm keeping my 2 Zmax's as backup, because they're great mods, very durable and reliable.

I started with some little no-name 180 mAh cigalikes.

The I "Upgraded" to a larger 520 mAh cigalike that has a kind of "Prism" lens that changed to a different color every time you took a hit.

My first REAL mod was the venerable VAMO 15 watt.

I sold my Vamo with a Kayfun to a teenager in my neighborhood who had suffered a contretemps with his mech+RDA. I figured the Vamo might keep him out of trouble, away from cigarettes, and keep all his limbs attached. :giggle:

My "sweet spot" is 82w, so the Cloupor is pretty much retired. And I just haven't found anyone I like well enough to give it to...lol!

After spending $80.00 on an Ego T kit, which still works btw, I upgraded to the Kamry K101 with an Igo w RDA. Have a Tobh on the K101 and I will still use it from time to time.

At the time I was using my Vamo, I had not started using RBA's yet.

I was using the old Kanger T-2 clearomizers at the time and with really good results!

I think what appealed to him was the look of that combo -- it was a "black chrome" Vamo, which was still in amazingly good condition, and a gold kayfun -- he thought it looked very elegant, very different from the usual mech+RDA setup that most of his peers are using. He was also scared away from higher wattage after his mech did the autofiring thing in his backpack, setting it on fire, and wanted something that he could simply vape with, and stay off cigarettes, rather than trying to win any pissing contests with his friends and their clouds. :D

I know that most think it's just horrible for teens to vape, but this kid... my heart goes out to him. He told me his stupid cousin (his words!) got him to smoke when he was 9 yrs old, and he got hooked, and had been pursuing vaping since he was about 14 (he was 16 at the time, back in the summer), and had been smoke-free since he started vaping. I think that's WONDERFUL, for a young man like that to be so concerned about not hanging on to a lethal habit like smoking, doing what he can to get free of it. He and I have been smoke-free for about the same length of time... but he didn't have to stick with a deadly habit for 39 yrs beforehand, damaging his health permanently.

Well if you don't count the craptacular smoke shop vape pen that was quickly replaced. I got the ego 1 first. After trying to chain vape on it while drinking, it was getting stupid hot and destroying coils. So I decided I needed a better (real) mod with temp control. I looked around for awhile and finally picked up the alien kit. Great bit of kit, love it. After I started building I needed something that could run lower ohms. I was at a shop bs'ing looking at rdas and ended up buying a lasimo l1 with two batteries for $35. So I guess the lasimo is my second "real" mod.

1st mod/1st regulated was a Provari Mini 2.5 by ProVape with Blue LED when it premiered, still going strong to this day.

2nd mod/1st unregulated was a brass Nemesis by Atmomixani, pristine/mint, sold *almost* 2x's higher than I paid for, wish I hadn't for nostalgic reasons

3rd mod/2nd regulated was a LavaTube by Volcanic E-Cigs, cheap, out and about device, kept in car, lost it disc golfing probably.

My first mech mod was a Camry K100. Vaped it for most of a year. Still have it ... needs a new spring, but otherwise it's also fully functional :)

I'll admitt it ......I always wanted a GGTS...even though they have more parts than a honda and probablly a horrible voltage drop.

Bet it still works to.Frigging things were like tanks.

Innokins are hard to beat, and hard to kill. I've still got my 4 original vv3s. I guess they still work; they've been in the drawer for way over a year. :giggle:

Matter of fact the only way I know of to kill 1 for sure is if it drops out of your overalls and into a public urinal...1 of the saddest mod losses of my life.:(:(

Aside from the "upgraded" ego's I bought with higher MAH capacity but lacking any type of variable voltage, the second device I bought was a Vamo v5 and I also rebuilt my Protank 2 coils lol.. Thought I was a big shooter hahaha.

MVP 2.0 then shortly after the IPV2. Still have both and they still work like champs. I ran over the MVP with my Camaro and it still worked and barely a scratch on it. Loved that thing. Haha even had a cord so I could charge my phone off it. Ahhh... those were the days... back when this was a cheap hobby and I wasn't obsessed with vapemail.

Hmm, as much crap as I give Prorape for not staying relevant, they do make some tough gear.

Mine had to be a joyetech ego pen type. I remember the ego part. I think it was the one that had the tank with little slits on the side and it was hard to tell how much juice was in it all the time. Hated it. That was around the time I got a non mech tube type mod supposedly authentic HCigar Stingray SS which I still have, . Threw all the pen type ones away after I got the Kangertech 50w sub box.
