Sell me on a new mod

Hi all! I am somewhat new at vaping, and had a couple of different mods....however there are so many cool mods I keep seeing that I really would like something new. I am running an ipv d3 at the moment. For the most part, it works great! However, battery life is not the best and there are times where I want some more power than 80w.

Just looking for opinions on a new mod that won't break the bank.

Well tis is my 3rd mod. Gave away both Ijust 2,s to friends and my Rx200s is now sitting on a shelf as a spare. I can't fault the G2

Haven't seen the white one yet, but I do have the black and red one and the paint still looks like new; granted it is only a few months old

No they are not..... they are running a 50% off sale grab them while you can!
http://www.vaporcube.com/
Use the coupon code.
We were talking about the g2 when I said the sale isn't on anymore. They were $44 during their sale...but I couldn't get any codes to work anymore. I do know the holmslice is still on sale for $30 though.

My favorite thing about the Alien mods are that they are like Pokemon you have to catch them all! I like the black on white for sure though. All my work mods are red and black as well as the tanks on them, I like them to match my work uniforms :p

Seems to be just the LE one in blue is left...but standard g2 has all colors... it's a dilemma for me for sure.... is color all that is different between standard and limited editions?

Yes color is the only difference.... I got a black and orange standard and they are great.
This mod is worth $120! Just my call.

Not sure what you're looking to spend
My all day is either a 60w provape radius with a single coil RTA or a vaporflask dna133-soon to be 167.

I want something that looks cooler than my ipv...and I'd like the ability to have something that has better control over my vape. I feel like with the Ivp works good on a fresh battery only, and once I vape it for about.....25 draws....and then it seems weak

.like it's not really doing the wattage it says. This is when the battery shows 60% or so after the draw (which is when ipv says it's true battery value) I know there are plenty of mods that will give you a little more wattage to pre-heat the coils and then go back to your normal wattage...might would also like to dabble with temp control. I don't want a massive box Cuz I feel like I'd take it to work and use it on my desk too. I also know a build I have that hardly runs on the 80w this puts out......so it'd be nice to try out something more poweful.

You want to really control your vape? Get an FSK, DNA or the new Yihi chipset. All of them offer varying degrees of control. It just comes down to how you feel comfortable controlling the mod. If you want to do everything on the mod get an FSK. If your comfortable with escribe and love tinkering on a pc then get a DNA. If you want control via an app then take a look at the new Yihi board. To me, the boards I mentioned are the top 3 boards on the market especially when it comes to TC.

Like Jack said I have both the nebula and tarot pro. I have had them both for a couple of weeks and they are enjoyable to use. I got them for cheap at a vape convention though, not sure I would pay full price. I like the Nebula more than the tarot pro, it accomadates bigger tanks with no overhang.

The Slice is my favorite small mod, it's only 101 watts but it hits harder than any of my other 26650 mods.

I like the Alien but ever since I upgraded to the latest firmware SS316L TC sucks, they need to fix that. It is also starting to chip paint on the bottom and I am gentle with it. All these are known problems but if your ok with that then it works fine in power mode.

Jack gave you some great recommendations. I enjoy the Hohmtech mods the most, the DNA250 mods, avoid the DNA75 chip, too inefficient if you want to run high watts. I really like Yihi chipped mods as well.

The Finder DNA167 is my favorite DNA mod ever. Not just for looks although it looks like a million. It already comes setup out of the box, just have to plug into escribe to change the battery settings. It already has a kanthal preheat mode and a bunch of SS316L TC modes that work great. It is setup better than the Triade DNA250 which I just got, going to steal some profiles from the Finder to add to the Triade.

If I had to choose between the 6 mods pictured it would be the G2 for performance and the Finder 167 for looks. The Slice is the best performance small mod I have though.

Given what you wrote there and in the rest of this thread I'd suggest the Smok Alien as the best overall fit. Cheaper investment then most of the others, great fit in the hand, looks cool, and gives you the option to mess around a tad with TC to see if it might be something you like (i guess if you avoid the newest firmware update, which i haven't actually tried). Keeping in mind that liking the *idea* of TC and liking TC itself while vaping can play out to be two completely different things. Don't go all in on the idea until you try it.

The Slice is nice and a lot can be said about the chip, but the flexibility drop off from two Sony/LG/Samsung 3000mah batteries and one of the better 26650s is a fairly big one. You'd have to go in expecting and being content with rather shitty battery life out of the 26650 if we are talking about more then break time vaping. I mostly vape mine at 40w/350-450, and still routinely avoid taking it to work for a 6 hour shift.

Local shop told me he'd do an alien kit with batteries for $75.. tough to beat that

Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Nice. As long as the batteries are decent and they are offering you some after sale security (that extends beyond simply pointing you to the warranty card) that is pretty solid for a local deal.

Sorry i didn't see this earlier.
you'll love the alien kit though. great mod for sure.

a few answers for you though (for the future if you decide to buy more stuff)

Tough to get one for a good price now...that $44 price tag was just sick.....now they are over $100 !

great mod. vaporworld.biz has them for around 50ish still. love the slice. best single battery mod IMO

love the battlestar. got a yellow one for 31 bucks. loved it so much ordered a copper that's on the way for 38 bucks. very underrated mod.
Lavabox is really nice they go for around 100ish now but I'm not a fan of lipos

Not sure if this is on your lineup or not, but I just ran across this sale while looking for the $5.00 Crius.

https://www.vaporworld.biz/sale/clearance/smok-xcube-2-160w/
SMOK XCUBE 2 160W -- $29.99
great price i love mine. very underrated IMO but at this point if you want that style the xcube ultra is an improved version. bot for 30 the 2 is a steal. it does 180 watts with firmware upgrade and i love the LED bar. the battery door is annoying though but a silicon case for it fixes that

I like the looks of the tarot pro but it only handles 22mm tanks without overhang so i passed. most of mine are 24mm or larger. not sure on performance. vapresso is very hit or miss

mjag as always has great suggestions. If u do decide to get a DNA there are plenty of pre set up files form us here. wingsfan is a great help and I'll share mine as well if needed. I'm almost done setting up my triad 250 and finder 167 the way i want

not really. you get 25% life with a higher rated battery (23 amp 16.65 kw/h vs 20 amp 22.2 kw/h) so you get about 75% of the battery life with a single 26650 then you would a dual 18650 mod. plus the slice is very efficient and will fully charge from dead in about 90 minutes

Well...charging up some batteries for the alien! First impressions are... paint is bad. Doesn't even look great out of the box, so I forsee a wrap in the near future.. screen protector that came with it... didn't even stick to the screen...so that is a waste to send with..... guess we will see how it performs shortly! Baby beast though...looks pretty legit for a small tank. I put my go to flavor in it to test out how it tastes.

I think those boxes only work with the built on rda that comes with it. Hopefully someone can confirm that
